After weeks of not speaking with one another outside of professional necessity, it felt weird to be back in each other's presence. The ride to Maura's from the airport was a long one and the bumper-to-bumper traffic during peak hours made things worse. Maura opted to stare out the window while Jane jumps between radio stations, unable to settle on one.

"How was Vegas?" Jane asks, breaking the silence.

Maura tucks her hair behind her ears. "It was fine."

Jane shifts in her seat, her legs beginning to feel numb from sitting in place for so long. "That's fun."

As a sense of guilt hits Maura, she decides to make a little effort toward the conversation, or lack thereof. "Did you enjoy Quantico?"

Tapping the steering wheel with her pointer finger, Jane thinks about her answer.

"Enjoy would be a bit of an overstatement. It's an interesting place with some nice people." She thinks about how before all of this mess started, she would have told Maura about Agent Davies and they would have laughed together at Jane's oblivion.

Both of the women stare out of the windshield, staring out at the traffic in front of them to prevent having to look at each other.

"Do you have Frankie's bachelor party planned?" Maura asks.

"Somewhat. Frost had a really good idea to have the party at Fenway Park so we could just have a couple of beers while tossing around some baseballs," Jane replies.

Raising her eyebrows, Maura turns to look at Jane. "That is an ambitious plan."

Jane laughs dryly. "Yeah. That's what I told Frost. But apparently, an old buddy of his owes him a favor so he's making a few calls and seeing if he can pull any strings. It's really nice of him."

"I thought you would be more excited about being able to go there. Especially considering that you have always wanted to get married at Fenway Park," Maura says.

At the mention of marriage, both of them get quiet again.

Jane misses Maura so badly that she almost takes Maura's hands into her own and begs for Maura to forgive her. She wants to tell the honey blonde that she made a grave mistake and that she can't manage to live another day without speaking to her. But she doesn't. Jane Rizzoli doesn't know how to grovel and beyond that, she knew that what she was doing now would be the best thing for Maura in the long run. The lives of her loved ones were better without Jane in them, attracting all types of delusional and dangerous people.

"It just hasn't hit me yet. That my younger brother is getting married. I mean, just yesterday we were wrestling around over whose turn it was to wear the Red Sox jersey to a game." Jane laughs. "I can't believe my mother thought it would be a good idea to make three rambunctious Rizzoli children share one jersey."

The thought makes Maura smile, imagining how much fighting there must have been. "Who did you guys always think would get married first?"

"Definitely Frankie. He's always been a hopeless romantic. Did I ever tell you about the time he proposed to his girlfriend at their high school prom? God, she was mortified."

The two women laugh and Maura feels as if it has been forever since the last time that they bonded like this. "Oh, Frankie. I'm glad that he has found someone who returns that energy. They make a good couple."

Jane's dimples stay on her face as she thinks about Frankie and Nina. "Yeah. They really do."

As the traffic begins to clear, Jane presses her foot into the gas pedal with more force as they take the exit leading to Maura's house. Jane didn't want this moment to end and found herself driving slower than the posted speed limit for once. Maura takes note of this, surprised that Jane's usual need for speed wasn't making an appearance. They pull into Maura's driveway and Jane gets out, heading to the back to get Maura's suitcase for her.

"Well. Thanks for the ride, Jane," Maura says as she pulls the metal handle from her suitcase out.

"Sure. I'm glad we didn't end up stranded," Jane replies, although being stranded anywhere with Maura did sound nice right now.

"Take care of yourself, okay?" Maura says as she touches Jane's cheek briefly before walking down the path to her front door. She heads in and closes the front door before she can lose her composure and end up kissing Jane. Maura looks as Jane stands in the driveway for a few seconds, staring at Maura's house, before getting into Frankie's car and driving away.

Frankie was pumped.

All of his dreams were coming true. Frost and Jane had surprised him with a bachelor's party in THE Fenway Park and he was marrying the woman of his dreams. Life was going pretty well, but he couldn't help but notice how down his sister had been lately. She was putting on a happy front for his sake, but he could tell how sad she was deep down. He didn't know details about why she decided to uproot her entire life and move to Virginia for the FBI, but he had tried to be happy for Jane and her promotion instead of reading too much into it. Maura looked equally as sad and Frankie also knew that it was deeper than her sadness for Jane moving. Something had happened between the two women.

Taking after his mother, he knew that he needed to get involved. His sister was too stubborn for her own good sometimes. So he calls up his mother, the only other woman capable of pulling this off. They make a plan to get Maura and Jane back on good terms again and devise opportunities for the two women to be alone. Frankie is glad that he can use the wedding as an excuse to gather either of the two women, especially since both women had honorary roles within the wedding party. He had involved Nina, who was just as excited to participate. She had also noticed how off Maura had been and had seen right through Maura's attempts to smile during the entire girl's trip.

Phase 1 of his plan began today. He calls up Jane, pacing the floor of the living room as it rings. "Janie. Hi. Listen, I need someone to help me go over my vows. You know how I get all jumpy and talk really fast when I'm nervous? I need you to come over so I can practice and get that out of my system."

Looking to Nina for approval, he grins as Nina gives him a thumbs up. When Jane is already on her way over, Nina makes a call to Maura.

"Maura, hi. I'm so sorry for the last-minute notice but something is wrong with my dress and the dress alteration people are closed today. You have a really good eye and I need the help so badly. Can you come over to Frankie's?"

Frankie had to give it to his future wife. The woman could act. As both of the women make their way over to the apartment, Frankie and Nina scramble to get ready. The plan was for Frankie to lead Jane into his room, pretending to go find his vows while he left her in there alone. Maura would arrive and Nina would tell her to go to his room and look for the dress and before either of the women realized anything, they would close the door and lock them in Frankie's bedroom. Frankie would pretend as if he didn't have a spare key and he and Nina would leave under the guise of looking for the landlord.

He was a bundle of nerves. As Jane walks in, she gives him a weird look. "Too much caffeine, Frankie? You're nearly bouncing off the walls."

"I told you that I get nervous with public speaking. Thanks for coming in. Let's go practice in my room so Nina doesn't hear my vows," Frankie says. Jane takes a seat on the edge of his bed.

"Alright, Frank. Let's hear what ya got."

Frankie pretends to look for a piece of paper, patting down his pockets and even emptying them for show. "Damn, Janie. Give me a second. I must have misplaced them somewhere."

He walks out, mouthing to Nina. "Where is Maura?"

Nina checks her phone before mouthing back, "2 minutes!"

Maura walks through the door and Nina grabs her gently. "Maura, Frankie is taking a nap so keep your voice down, please."

As Maura gives her a confused look, Nina laughs inside as she thinks about how similar Jane and Maura could be sometimes. "Can you go to Frankie's room and grab me the dress real quick? I need to get something from the bathroom."

Maura agrees silently, heading into Frankie's room. As soon as she crosses the door frame, Frankie slams the door shut. The entire apartment is dead silent for a few seconds before he hears Jane mumble, "What the hell?"

As the two women begin to piece things together, Jane pulls against the doorknob, which Frankie has locked and barricaded with a chair. He knows that Maura can pick locks and is a step ahead of them.

"Damn it, Frankie. Open this door right now!" Jane commands. It reminds Frankie of their childhood, where they spent countless days locking each other inside the bathroom.

"Sorry, Jane! I lost the spare keys. I'm going to go find Francisco, my landlord so we can open this door. Be right back!"

They tip-toe out of Frankie's apartment, taking the spare key with them. As he and Nina laugh once they're in the safety of the hallway, he only hopes that Maura and Jane make good use of this time.

"Jane, there's no way out. You know that. They must have planned this and I'm sure they thought about every solution that we would try," Maura says as Jane continues to grab the doorknob forcefully.

She sits down on the edge of the bed, where Jane had been when Maura first walked in. Jane remains standing, trying the door one last time before giving up. She walks to the opposite edge of the bed and sits down with a huff.

Frankie's bed is smaller than what Maura is used to. He has a full-size bed, which barely fits Jane and Maura sitting down.

"How the hell do he and Nina fit together on this thing?" Jane says as she looks back at the bed.

Maura realizes that they had been thinking about the same thing. She shifts on the bed slightly, causing the springs to groan. Leaning her head down, she looks up at the ceiling.

"How long do you think it'll be before they let us out?" She asks. Jane follows her head, leaning down on the bed as well. Their faces are inches from each other despite their legs being on opposite ends of the bed.

"Who knows? I should have expected this. He's so sneaky sometimes."

Maura nods. "I should have known better too. I'm sure he and Nina are off enjoying lunch somewhere as they laugh about us."

Jane turns her head at the exact same moment Maura turns hers and the both of them are suddenly very aware of how close their lips are to each other.
