Guitar Hero stumbled as Turing dropped him to land on the edge of the dock, pinwheeling his arms and waving his guitar wildly to regain his balance. With a grunt, Fang landed beside him, growling in anger and shaking his head before lumbering forward, toward the small group of laborers now visible further down the dock. One of the men looked up at the crocodile's growl and let out a high-pitched scream, dropping his end of the crate he had been carrying. The crate's corner crashed to the ground at his feet and smashed open, sending a handful of metallic objects clattering across the walkway. The man's partner shouted something at him angrily, turned toward the dock, and jumped on spotting Fang waddling in their direction. Finding his footing, Guitar Hero's fingers blazed up and down the neck of his guitar, fingering out a new melody.

"Time to rock and roll, San Francisco!" crowed Guitar Hero, stepping one foot forward and pinwheeling his arm around in a power chord that resonated over his head from the portable amp still strapped to Turing's back.

Closer to Guitar Hero, two of the men standing along the edge of the dock turned to face him, their eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Who the hell are you supposed to be?" the one demanded, his eyes narrowed.

"I am… Guitar Hero!" he declared, playing a long riff on his guitar. "Of the Heroes of Paris!"

The man scoffed. "You're a long way from home, then, aren't you?" Drawing a small pistol, he took careful aim at Guitar Hero's head.

Before he could pull the trigger, however, Americana dropped to land in front of the man, grabbing the pistol away from him and crushing it with her hand. Tossing the pistol away into the Bay, she drove her fist into his chest and knocked him backward, flat on his back. The man started to push himself up, but Americana planted her foot on his chest for a moment, pinning him in place. Meekly, he held up his hands in a sign of surrender. A few meters away from her, the two cloaked figures turned to look straight at her. One pulled a gun out from under his cloak and fired at her; Americana rolled to one side out of the line of fire, as the stream of liquid splashed the ground where she had been moments before. Guitar Hero's brows furrowed in confusion. The other cloaked figure threw his cloak aside to reveal a green-and-yellow bodysuit. Americana's eyes widened in recognition. "Scorpio!" she shouted, eyeing him warily.

Scorpio leaned forward, his arms outstretched in a powerful stance, a long scorpion tail extending over his back. The tail lashed out at Americana, but he was just out of range of her. "American Nightmare!" he yelled back at her, his eyes narrowed in fury. "You will regret interfering with our business!"

Americana scoffed, shooting up into the air to hover above him, drifting to one side. "Stay on the right side of the law, and maybe I wouldn't have to 'interfere'!" she retorted.

Scorpio leaped backward away, not taking his eyes off of her, and dropped into a defensive crouch, his long tail hanging over his head and pointing at her. His aim swinging back and forth between them, his companion turned his pistol against Guitar Hero and fired. At the same moment, Turing dropped to the ground to interpose himself between the man and Guitar Hero, taking the water to the chest for him. Shrugging off the portable amp, he dropped it in front of Guitar Hero, who kicked the amp around to face the criminals. Scorpio's tail darted forward at Turing, who leaned to one side to avoid its sting. "Aquarius!" shouted Scorpio. "Focus on the robot!"

Aquarius bared his teeth with a feral grin. "It would be my pleasure!"

Turing strode toward Aquarius, his eyes narrowed, as Aquarius continued to shoot him in the face with water. "You will not find that to be an easy task," he warned.

Aquarius scoffed, dropping his water pistol and drawing a different one. "Maybe you'll find this more to your liking!" With a shout, he fired the pistol, sending a spray of sickly greenish liquid at Turing. Glancing back at Guitar Hero, Turing planted his feet and stood his ground, taking the liquid straight to the chest. Smoke hissed from his torso, and he ascended into the air, Aquarius' aim rising to follow him. "What's the matter, 'bot? Afraid of a little acid?"

Turing's eyes narrowed. "No." Suddenly, his grappling hook fired, straight at Aquarius' wrist, looping around it and reeling him up. "Let me show you true fear!"

Aquarius yelped, pointing his trembling pistol at the grappling hook cord and spraying it with acid. He was about five meters into the air when the cord frayed and snapped, sending him plummeting to the ground. He landed hard on his shoulder and groaned, his arms flopping out to either side.

Turing descended to hover one meter above the ground, drifting toward the spot where Scorpio continuously struck out at Americana with his tail, holding her at bay while he backed closer to the prison building behind him. Scorpio's eyes drifted to the side as Turing jetted closer to him, and Americana dove forward, drawing her fist back and punching at his face. Scorpio turned too late but still struck out at her with his tail. The tail went wide as she leaned out of the way, and he lunged away from her. her fist just grazed his side, and he spun around wildly, dropping to the ground and immediately rolling back to his feet. Before he could regain his balance, Turing lunged, catching Scorpio with one arm, even as Scorpio lashed out at him again and again with his tail.

Fang let out a low snarl, eyeing the small group of laborers closest to the dock. "Hey!" shouted Jagged Stone. A half dozen heads turned their attention toward him. "I'm only going to tell you this once: get out!"

A man let out a growl, staring down Guitar Hero. "You think you're tough? You can't scare us off!" Glancing at his companions, he yelled, "Let's get him, boys!"

As the men charged Guitar Hero, he pulled his guitar strap over his head, holding the specially-reinforced instrument in both hands. Fang snarled, snapping at the closest man's foot as he tried to jump over him, and smacking his shin when he landed. The man let out a surprised yelp and faceplanted right behind Fang, his splayed legs tangling with another man, who fell on top of him. Guitar Hero grinned exultantly as the remaining three neared him, though his eyes immediately widened. Quickly, he stumbled back, away from the one in the lead, looking back and forth at his two companions. The first man pulled a collapsible baton out of his pocket, flicked it out to full length, and brought it down at Guitar Hero. On autopilot, Guitar Hero raised his guitar to block the blow before waving the guitar's body into the man's face. There was a thud, and the man stumbled back away from Guitar Hero, into Fang's snapping jaws, even as his two companions closed in on Guitar Hero's flanks.

A gunshot cracked the night, and all four of them froze, turning toward the sound. Annie Oakley stood about four meters away, one revolver pointed up into the sky, the other pointed at the man to Guitar Hero's right. "You're under arrest!" she ordered them, turning her second revolver on the man to Guitar Hero's left.

Meekly, one of the men held up his hands, though the one on his right lunged at Guitar Hero's waist. Guitar Hero yelped, stumbled, and fell on his back, bringing his guitar cracking down on the back of the man's skull. The man howled, and another gunshot rang out. A fist struck Guitar Hero in the side, just under his ribs, and he grunted. There was a cry of pain, and then Fang was next to Guitar Hero, his jaws closing around the man's wrist as he dragged him away.

Stumbling up to one knee, Guitar Hero let out a breath. One of the men knelt with his hands on his head. One lay on the ground, cradling his arm. Fang snarled, tugging on the third. Guitar Hero put a hand on the crocodile's head and let out a breath. "Good boy."

"Now stay put," ordered Annie Oakley, glaring at the three men. Suddenly, her eyes widened in surprise as the pathway beneath her feet crumbled and lifted her into the air. With a yelp, she dove off the paving stone, rolled to her feet, and spun around wildly, searching for the source of the attack.

Gravitor stood further away, close to the boats, and let out an angry growl. "You think you can interfere with our business and get away with it?" Holding out his hand, he clenched it, lifting a massive chunk of dirt out of the ground before pushing it in Annie Oakley's direction. Eyes wide, she dove away from it just before he squeezed his hand. The clod of dirt thudded into the ground with a sound like an explosion, sending a spray of dirt in all directions. Holding up one arm, Annie Oakley turned her head at the last moment, just avoiding the spray.

Guitar Hero's eyes widened in shock, and he held his arms up and turned away to avoid the flying dirt. A couple wads hit him in the arm and shoulder with the force of a bullet, and he dove to the side and rolled, cradling his guitar carefully. "This is totally not rock-and-roll!" he shouted at Gravitor, scrambling up to one knee.

Uncanny Valley dove lower, sending a sonic pulse at Gravitor from her wrist. "Leave them alone!" she screamed.

Holding his hands to his head and wincing, Gravitor turned toward her with a furious glare. "What are you doing here, bronze bitch?" he snarled, swiping wildly at her. "I thought you were supposed to be in New York!"

Uncanny Valley spun around him, just out of his reach. "I thought the same about you," she retorted. "But I guess that's just your luck – run into a New York hero when you come out here!" Bringing her legs together, she drove her feet into him with a loud bang.

Gravitor grunted in surprise but brought his fists together moments before she struck. Uncanny Valley froze in midair and looked around in shock, her eyes widening, as she very abruptly began to rise higher into the air. Leaving the ground behind, Gravitor floated up off the ground three meters away from her, holding his arms out wide. Uncanny Valley struggled, activating and deactivating her jets repeatedly as she rapidly gained altitude. Leaning in closer to her, Gravitor sneered. "If you mess with me, this is what happens!"

Suddenly, Uncanny Valley dropped from the sky, plummeting rapidly, straight downward. Her arms flailed helplessly, and she slammed into the ground, landing hard on her back.

"Valley!" shouted Annie Oakley, firing several times at Gravitor, who evaded every shot. Her eyes wide, she dove out of the way, just as Uncanny Valley struck where she had been standing.

Fighting Aquarius closer to the prison building, Turing looked over at Annie Oakley's cry, just in time to spot Uncanny Valley hitting the ground. At once, Turing rose into the air, turning away from Scorpio and Aquarius. Aquarius sent a jet of liquid at Turing's back as he ascended, turning and rocketing toward Uncanny Valley's fallen form. "No!"

Looking around nervously, Annie Oakley spotted two of the laborers trying to get up, as Scorpio broke away from Americana and charged toward her. Smacking her revolvers together, she fired twice and hit the two goons with a flash of light. They stumbled backward and collapsed unconscious, just as Scorpio reached her. His tail lashed out at Annie Oakley's throat, and she dove out of the way, spinning around as she landed and firing a quick shot at Scorpio's head that went wide.

"Valley!" shouted Turing, staring at her unmoving form for a long moment before sending a pulse of energy at Gravitor. The pulse struck him in the shoulder, knocking him backward, and he reached out, taking hold of a massive chunk of the building with his power and ripping it from the ground. With a roar, he hurled it at Turing in a parabolic arc. Turing eyed it carefully for less than a second and sent out a sonic blast, crumbling the stonework to powder that sprinkled down around him and onto Uncanny Valley.

"Hey!" shouted Guitar Hero, adjusting a dial on his amp. "That was absolutely not rock and roll! You need to chill out some! Why don't you try a little music!" Swinging his arm around, he played a loud, deep chord, holding the amp at an angle with his foot to direct it in Gravitor's direction. Gravitor turned toward him in confusion, only for his eyes to widen as the massive soundwave reached him. Leaning back from the force, he held his hands to his head and started to shout in pain and surprise. Turing fired another energy pulse at Gravitor's head, and he dropped out of the air with a crash, landing on the pavement with a gasp.

Slowly, Uncanny Valley pulled herself up off the ground, groaning and shaking her head. "What just happened?"
