Chapter 13 – Nicholas Flamel and the talk down.

Everyone in the hall took a while to calm down from the excitement of the quidditch match, as James had been the loudest out of everyone.
With a sigh by the teachers, the movie began to show again, showing Hadriana, Ron and Hermione walking beside one another together with Hagrid.

"Nonsense! Why would Snape put a curse on Hadriana's broom?" Asked Hagrid, as the three Gryffindors gave each other looks before answering because to them it was easy to imagine why.

"Who knows? He hates me, and why wouldn't he when he was trying to get passed the three-headed dog on Halloween?" Hadriana addressed what she knew, and Hagrid's face said it all as it went into shock.

"Who told yer about Fluffy?" Hagrid asked, looking at the three of them who showed their obvious disbelief that the beast had a name like that.

"Fluffy?" Ron asked in shock.

"That thing has a name?" Hermione questioned, giving Hagrid a look while he looked offended.

Hadriana just sighed wondering why everything had to be so obvious, someone wanted them to explore and figure this out or else no one would have told the half-giant in on the plan.

"You. You were already suspicious about this then?" Hermione asked her curiously, and she thought that she had been the smart one to figure it out back in their fifth year.

"Yeah, I didn't say anything because you guys wouldn't have believed me then!" Hadriana answered her with a sigh, and sometimes even now she has trouble believing that they believed in her.

Sirius could feel her doubt, not of him but of her friends. *They believe you now, remember that! *

*I know, but it is hard because we haven't always been this strong. * Hadriana told him.

"Well of course he got a name. he's mine. I bought him from an Irish feller I met in town last year. Then I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the-,"

"Stupid oaf!" Walburga hissed, while many sighed thinking that the bitch had passed out for the rest of the movie.

Sirius began to smirk because he felt that Hadriana was about to do something that would get everyone to think.

Hadriana tapped Teddy on the leg to shift her onto his father, raising herself up she stood proudly with a glint in her eyes. "You call yourself the Lady of house Black?" she asked her sweetly and stalked up to her standing toe to toe with the Black idiot.

"What of it, Half-blood!" sneered Walburga looking at her with disdain.

"Hold your words!" sighed Hadriana, "shouldn't you as a pureblood know how to act, right now you don't act like you are above us. You act like an ignorant, lousy woman who is bitter about her family." She was beginning to be pissed off by the woman's bitter war against people that she deemed beneath her. "Aren't you proud of your house? act like it! You want people to respect you, then you show them that you can be reasonable and protect your family." "With all this yelling all you do is get people to look down on you, no one trusts you and you give your house a bad reputation. Do you even know what people think about your family? and I don't mean about the reputation that you are dark!" she finished giving the ass of a woman something to think about.

Hadriana walked back to her family, gracefully placing herself by Sirius's side. *Not quite the talk I did to your mother in the portrait, but close enough. * She smirked.

Young Sirius was in awe over Hadriana's talk to his mother, no one had done something like that to her before and she was right, it wasn't the fact that they were a dark family, but more the fact that she hurts their family and are crazy and follows a maniac.

Regulus and Orion couldn't believe that someone could do something like this, but they were proud to have someone like that in the family.

*At least you have given them something to think about! * Sirius smirked knowingly, and brushed Teddy's hair with his fingers which were sleeping in his lap.

"Yes?" Hadriana questioned and looked at Hagrid who was now looking at them slightly scared.

"Shouldn't have said that. No more questions! Don't ask any more questions. That's top secret that is!" Hagrid finished, getting ready to walk away when Hadriana brought him back.

"But Hagrid. Whatever Fluffy is guarding, Snape is trying to steal it!"

"Codswallop. Professor Snape is a Hogwarts teacher." Hagrid told them seriously.

"Hogwarts teacher or not. I know a spell when I see one. I've read all about them. You've got to keep eye contact, and Snape wasn't blinking." Hermione said while the two others nodded along with her.

"You do know that counter curses also require eye contact?" Hadriana said after a while, but before Hagrid could say something.

Hermione looked at her like she hadn't known that she too could say something intellectual, but shook it off, and Hadriana sighed wondering if what she will tell them would ever sink in.

"Now, lister yer all. Yer meddling in things that ought not to be meddled in. It's dangerous. What that beast is hiding is strictly between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel."

"Nicholas Flamel?" Hadriana questioned, while Hagrid's eyes widened.

"I shouldn't have said that." Mumbled Hagrid to himself, walking away from the three students who just stood there looking confused.

"Nicholas Flamel. Who's Nicholas Flamel?" Hadriana asked, Ron, shrugged, while Hermione looked deep in thought.

"I don't know!" Hermione said, shocked that she hadn't read about someone.

Ron and Hadriana looked at her in slight shock that she didn't know something and that she admitted it to them, even.

"What!" yelled young Sirius dramatically. "She doesn't know something!" he continued teasingly. "Prongs can you believe it!"

"No, Padfoot, I can't believe it. It's astonishing." James continued with a teasing grin towards the now blushing 25-year-old.

Ron and Hadriana had to stop themselves from laughing that Hermione, as she became more and more embarrassed over the teasing.

"Astonishing. I can't believe that you knew how to say something like that!" Young Sirius said, back to teasing them both.

"Breath-taking!" Peter said with a smile on his face and then looked to the other marauder.

"Unnerving," Remus said with a posh accent and smiled his charming smile towards the know red Hermione who laughed with them.

"Boy that's enough!" McGonagall scolded, fighting down a smile at the boy's game of exaggerating words.

Hermione continued to look deep in concentration, while Ron looks at Hadriana who continued to watch Hagrid who was retreating towards his hut.

They were now seen in the library, Ron and Hermione split off from Hadriana trying to find everything they could find on Nicholas Flamel. However, Hadriana saw this as a way to get out and get some alone time to think about everything that has been going on lately.

They had agreed to meet back up in a couple of hours in the common room, something she was glad for. Hadriana quietly walked out of the library making sure that they wouldn't see her, as she made her way up to the owlery. The quiet it gave her was wonderful, everything had been fantastic, but it was disconcerting to see that something was afoot.

Treading her fingers through Hedwig's feather softly, made her smile because having friends were great and all, but she missed being alone for just a while thinking things through. With a sigh, and a goodbye to her owl she quietly snuck out of the owlery and through the corridors of the seventh floor. "Is there a room where I can be myself, and alone?" Hadriana asked no one and made her way through the corridor back and forth when there suddenly popped a door out of nowhere.

Opened it, and she was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of books and cosy couches, a fireplace and it was quiet.

"You found that room before our fifth year?" Hermione asked surprised to see that they hadn't figured it out before now, that she had known the room.

"Yeah." Was the only word she gave them, *We had some illuminating conversation in that room, didn't we? * She smirked.

*We did. * Sirius smiled.

The marauders looked at one another with small smirks, planning to get the room onto the map and use it to their advantage. Lily and Remus just shook their heads, but they too would use it this last year of school to study.

"Cool!" Hadriana smiled, walking towards the bookcases to see what kind of books the room felt she needed to see. Seeing the law books, and rules, regulations, soul mates and other spells and curses, even healing spells. All books she wants to find something more about were there.

She took up a book and began to read about healing. While also having a conversation with Sirius in her mind, *Did you and dad find the room on the seventh floor? *

*We never found a room there, but we didn't look* Sirius croaked out, *You finally found a way to find some peace and quiet, haven't you? *

*Yeah, I have. * She told him sadly.

*Hey now, you are entitled to do something for yourself too. * Admonished Sirius, *don't feel bad about wanting to be alone. *

*Thank you. I needed that. * She told him and went back to her book before she had a look at the clock seeing that it was soon time to get back to the common room.

"Thank you for being there for our daughter!" Lily said to Sirius, that was sitting beside their daughter the love between them had been there for years as they saw it happen on the screen.

"Sirius is right, you are allowed to be alone sometimes. Even the four of us have times we go on our own." James said seriously, seeing that Hadriana was still a little bit put out by it.

"We know this now, but we sometimes felt slighted back then," Ron told Hadriana's father because they had been quite strict with their only friend back then.

"We were, weren't we?" Hermione sighed sadly, just so that Ron would hear her say this. Feeling Ron kiss her forehead in soft agreement.

Hadriana quickly began to run back down to her common room, when she suddenly crashed into someone making her fall. "Sorry, I wasn't quite paying attention," Hadriana said, her eyes on the ground. Only to look up, to find a pair of bright twinkling brown eyes looking back at her with a smile.

"It's fine, Hadri," Oliver said knowing that she was late for something, making her blush. It was sweet, she thought that he cared.

"No, boys!" James said sternly, just for fun because he knew that he hadn't any say in it.

Oliver offered a hand to her, taking it. "Thanks," Hadriana said with a smile. "You're welcome!" he told her brightly, "so…" he muttered, not knowing what to say.

"I'm late, so, I will have to…" Hadriana told him awkwardly.

"Of course, see you at the quidditch pitch," Oliver told her confidently.

"Yeah, see you there," Hadriana said with a blush not knowing what else to say and began to run again with a yell, calmly walked into the common room finding her friends sitting there awkwardly looking at one another.

"Have you found anything?" Hermione asked when she saw Hadriana walking towards them sitting between them.

"No, you?" Hadriana answered, ignoring the ugly look they were sending her for disappearing.

"NO! Where were you?" Hermione asked bossily, while Ron nodded wanting to know where their friends had been.

"That you don't need to know! I wanted to figure something out on my own and see if I can remember where I've heard the word before." Hadriana told them, not saying anything more about what had happened. They did not need to know.

By the end of this scene, they all could see the friendship fracture but instead of ruining it – they were seeing that they can be friends while still having time for their own exploration of the castle.

James was still having fun yelling out, "no boys." After what happened with Oliver, he was having a blast together with Sirius. With everyone else just shaking their heads.
