"Mabel, do you believe in ghosts."
"I battled a living wax figure of the William Shakespeare to the death." Deadpanned Mabel wearing a red short sleeved shirt, her shooting star necklace and black leggings as she sat crosslegged on the counter.
"A yes then." Replied Dipper calmly as he read from the journal.
"Soos! Wendy!" Exclaimed Stan as he entered the gift shop, prompting Dipper to hide his journal.
The two workers quickly arrived upon hearing Stan calling.
"What's up Mister Pines." Said Soos.
"I'm headin' out. You two are gonna wash the bathrooms, right?" Asked Stan in a serious tone.
"Yes, sir!" Replied Soos enthusiastically.
"Absolutely not." Added Wendy calmly.
"Ha!" Laughed Stan. "You stay outta trouble." He continued before leaving the shack.
Not even half a minute later, Wendy decided to go against what Stan said. She showed everyone a hidden ladder behind a curtain.
"Hey guys! What's this? A secret ladder to the roof?"
"Uh, I don't think Mister Pines would like that." Said Soos in concern before Wendy started taunting him by reaching for the ladder. "You're freaking me out, dude!"
"Can we actually go up there?" Asked Dipper with a big smile.
"Sure we can. Roof time, roof time!" Chanted Wendy before the twins started chanting with her.
It didn't take long for everyone, save for Soos, to get on the roof and Wendy showed them the place.
"Alright, check it out." Said Wendy cheerfully as she gestured towards the chair and cola she put there
The twins stared in awe at Wendy's masterpiece before Dipper decided to ask.
"Cool! Did you put all this stuff up here?"
"I may or may not sneak up here during work, all the time, everyday." Replied Wendy with a smile before picking up a pinecone and throwing it at the bullseye of a target placed on a totem outside the shack. "Yes!"
"You think that's cool?" Asked Mabel with a grin as she picked up a pinecone. "Check THIS out."
Mabel then proceeded to throw the pinecone in the air before kicking it for a bullseye on the target.
"Woah!" Exclaimed Wendy with a smile.
Without missing a beat Mabel did another trick to get a pinecone into the bullseye and another and another and it was a bullseye every time. Wendy was speechless.
Dipper already knew of Mabel's talent so he was less impressed than Wendy and decided to throw a pinecone of his own.
He completely missed the target and hit a car causing it to start honking. Dipper blushed in embarrassment at the consequences of his actions while Wendy celebrated them.
"Jackpot! High five!" Said Wendy holding her hand up for a high five from Dipper who just stood there...staring at Wendy.
Mabel saw this and froze as memories started pouring in, snippets of Dipper's feelings for Wendy and for once, how it would end.
By the time she came back to reality, Wendy already ziplined her way to her friends in a car that stopped by the shack.
"Later, Wendy! Heheheh, *deep breath* good times." Said Dipper awkwardly.
"Of all the things, it had to be this." Grumbled Mabel at her head's choices in memory recovery.
"What did you say?" Asked Dipper.
"You have a crush on Wendy." Deadpanned Mabel.
"What? No. I just think she's cool." Replied Dipper smiling.
"We'll see about that." Replied Mabel with a sinister smile.

Later that night
"Oh no." Said Dipper in realization
"Knew it!" Added Mabel jumping from underneath her blankets. "You have a crush on Wendy!"
"AAH!" Dipper screamed in shock. "Mabel! Why- wait, were you up all night just to watch me admit it?"
Mabel proudly nodded, causing Dipper to raise a brow in confusion.
"How did you know this was gonna happen?" At that moment, Mabel realized she messed up.
"Uhh, a good guess?" Replied Mabel with an awkward smile and a shrug.
"Are you seriously not gonna tell me?" Asked Dipper knowing Mabel was lying.
Mabel quickly started to panic internally before deciding to change the subject.
"Forget about it! What's important is my little bro can't get a girl out of his head...and it's adorable!"
"Hey! I thought we stopped the whole I'm adorable thing!" Exclaimed Dipper with a deep frown.
"With your sneeze? Never!"
"C'mon, Mabel. Wendy wouldn't like me if i-" said Dipper before realizing what he had just said. "I said that out loud, didn't I?"
The two spoke together happily for a while. Dipper didn't forget about the conversation, but decided to go along with his siste not wanting to force her to speak. But he still wondered what his sister was hiding.
And why would she hide it from him.

The next day.
Dipper's interest in his sister's secret died down as he started staring at Wendy again who was currently playing a throwing game with Mabel and very much losing.
He frowned slightly at the sight, feeling a little jealous of his sister being able to impress his crush so easily.
"Dipper!" Wendy called the preteen. "Wanna team up against your sister?"
"No one can save you from my WRATH!" Yelled Mabel jokingly. She wore a plain white sweater, her necklace and black leggings.
"We'll see about that?" Replied Wendy cheerfully.
"Uh, ah, I'm really...not good at, uhm, sports." Said Dipper awkwardly. "Except for the lamby dance."
"Lamby dance?" Asked Wendy raising a brow.
Dipper smiled and blushed at the question. "Mom used to dress me up in this lamb costume and have me sing a song about grazing. Then when we and our parents started the family dungeons dungeons and more dungeons night, we turned it into...a blood ritual to summon an evil eldritch god."
Wendy went silent, causing Dipper to internally panic.
"It was Mabel's idea." He confessed not wanting to appear lame to his crush.
Wendy turned to Mabel and spoke. "Dude...that's so cool!"
"Anything for the blood of my enemies." Replied Mabel with a smile, causing Wendy to chuckle.
Seeing this scene, Dipper's shoulders dropped dejectedly, feeling jealous of his sister once again.
Before another word could be said, the clock rang signalling Wendy's time to leave.
"Hey, look at that. Quittin' time." Said Wendy gesturing towards the clock with her thumb. "The gang's waiting for me."
"Uh, hey!" Dipper stopped Wendy. "Maybe i- uh, we could come with you."
"I don't know-" said Wendy turning to Dipper. "-my friends are pretty intense. How old did you say you were?"
"We're thirteen! So technically a teen." Answered Dipper quickly.
"Alright, I like your moxie, kid. Let me get my stuff." Said Wendy cheerfully before leaving the room.
The moment Wendy was out of the room, Mabel turned to her brother with a smile.
"Can you stop looking at me like that?" Said Dipper crossing his arms with a frown.
Mabel raised a brow, not expecting Dipper's attitude. "Why are you so grumpy?"
"I'm NOT grumpy." Replied Dipper with a deep frown. "I just want to hang out with the cool kids...and Wendy."
"I get that, but why are you being so aggressive?" Asked Mabel in confusion.
"Well, why were you being so secretive last night?!" Dipper asked with a deep frown.
Mabel flinched before struggling to give a coherent answer before Dipper approached her with an angry look.
"Look, if you don't wanna answer then stay out of my love life."
"But i-"
"Don't wanna hear it."
Without giving his sister a chance to speak, Dipper stormed off outside. Mabel tried to reach for him, but he pushed her hand away.
And at the moment she saw him walk out of the door, the only thing she could feel...was guilt.
