Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 72 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. We are now in the movie Thor Ragnarok which I am fairly excited to start writing. I have to admit that there is probably going to be quite a few chapters for this movie. I'm going to try my best to add some new things in. Which shall be fairly fun for me to do and something new and exciting. I know that I should be working on my Iron Man story with Alexia Stark, but I haven't decided to start working on the next part of that story which is a long sprawling one much like this one. Thank you to those who have left reviews for this story. It really does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this. I hope that you guys enjoy this next chapter. Without further ado Chapter 72. ENJOY!
Chapter 72
Everleigh slowly walked down the sidewalk having stayed a few days in New York. She thought that it would be a good idea to get some air and try to have a relaxing day among the people without being noticed for who she really was. She had shifted into the redhead that she was for the last few months into her hiding. She froze when she felt a familiar swirl of magic in town. Her brows furrowed in concern as she slowly turned and walked towards a place where a demolition site was. Her eyes widened when she saw Thor there with none other than Loki both dressed in street clothes.
Loki looked around his brows furrowed. "I swear, I left him right here."
"Right here on the sidewalk? Or right there, where the building that's being demolished? Great planning." Thor said giving his brother what for, for what had happened to their father. He wanted to find Odin safe and sound.
"How was I supposed to know? Can't see into the future. I'm not a witch." Loki said, defending himself to his brother.
"Then why do you dress like one?"
"Hey." Loki said, giving his brother a look of irritation.
"Hey." Everleigh said, walking up to the two of them.
Thor looked over seeing the young woman walk towards them.
"Darling is that you?" Loki said blinking a few times.
"Well I can't change into my normal form." She said, crossing her arms as she looked at the two of them.
"I can't believe you're alive. I saw you die. I mourned you, I cried for you. Lady Everleigh could hardly hold herself together when she was sent back to Midgard."
Loki blinked a few times as he looked at Thor. "I'm honored."
Everleigh let out a breath shaking her head softly. "Honestly I'm not surprised any more. Since my magic likes to hone in on everyone lately." She let out a breath rubbing her mouth softly.
A young college girl looked at her friend. "Ask him."
Another young woman came up to Thor with her friend. "Hi. Would you mind taking a picture with us?" She asked shyly.
"Sure." He looked at his brother for a split second. "Start figuring out where he is."
Everleigh looked at Loki. "I take it he figured out you dumped Odin here?" She questioned softly, being very careful to not raise her voice for Thor to hear. She didn't need him to know that she knew that Loki had been alive all this time and was pretending to be Odin.
"Yes, but I had no idea that this would happen." Loki said, shaking his head lightly. "But I want to know why you can't show your real form?"
"I rather not be arrested for the crime I committed for doing the right thing." Everleigh said with a shrug of her shoulders.
"You committed a crime? Darling you're hardly an enemy."
"According to the country I am." She pointed out looking at Loki. "I'll help you find Odin… if nothing is hiding him that is."
Loki nodded his head slowly.
"Oh, my god." The first college girl said with a smile as she got her phone back from Thor.
"Sorry to hear that Jane dumped you." The other college girl said, patting his arm before they went on their merry way.
"She didn't dump me, you know. I dumped her. It was a mutual dumping." Thor called after the two college girls, but they weren't really listening to him. Thor then noticed something going on around Loki's feet. "What's this, what are you doing!?"
Loki looked down to his feet and saw the sidewalk glowing below him. "This... isn't me." Suddenly Loki dropped out of sight, vanishing through solid concrete.
Thor saw a business card that was on the ground where Loki once was standing. "Loki?" He picked up the card.
"I know where that is… come on." Everleigh said letting out a breath as she grasped his arm before they suddenly appeared in front of the building. "Damn it. I hate it when he does that." She grumbled in irritation.
Thor slowly walked up the stairs with Everleigh and knocked two times on the door before the two of them were brought inside of the building.
"Thor Odinson." Doctor Strange said as he levitated towards Thor. "God of Thunder."
Thor held up his ratty umbrella ready to defend himself.
Everleigh let out a breath, shaking her head lightly.
"You can put down the umbrella."
Thor gave Doctor Strange a sideways look, but then set his umbrella down. He looked back up and the whole room was furnished. "So earth has wizards now?"
Everleigh let out a soft chuckle shaking her head lightly.
"The preferred term is "Master of the Mystic Arts.""
"Alright wizard, who are you? Why should I care?"
"My name is Doctor Stephen Strange and I have some questions for you. Take a seat."
Suddenly the three of them were sitting in high-backed chairs.
"Tea?"
Thor looked down at the cup of tea that was now in his hand. "I don't drink tea."
"What do you drink?"
"Not tea." Thor now had a stein of beer in his hand. He drank it down slowly.
"So I keep a watch list of individuals and beings from other realms that may be a threat to this world. Your adopted brother Loki is one of these beings."
"He's a worthy inclusion."
"Then why bring him here?"
"We're looking for my father."
"So. If you were to tell you where Odin was, all parties concerned would promptly return to Asgard?"
"Promptly."
"Great. Then I'll help you."
"If you knew where he was, why didn't you call me?"
"I have to tell you, he was adamant that he not be disturbed. Your father said he had chosen to remain in exile. And you don't have a phone."
"No, I don't have a phone, but you could have sent an electronic letter. It's called an email."
"Yeah, do you have a computer?"
"No. What for? Anyway, my father is no longer in exile. So if you could tell me where he is, I can take him home."
"Gladly. He's in Norway." Steven stood up and suddenly they were in another room standing by a bookcase. He took down an ancient book and flipped through it. "I'm just seeing whether this incantation requires any Asgardian modifications."
Thor reached his hand out to the bookcase to steady his feet.
"Nope."
Suddenly they were both across the room at Doctor Strange's workstation. The bookshelf that Thor had been holding onto was brought with him.
Doctor Strange looked up and saw the bookshelf. "Oh, we don't need that."
Suddenly Thor was across the room again, books falling off the shelf and Thor spilt his beer. He was queasy and unsteady from moving around so much. "Will you stop doing that?"
"I need just one strand of your hair."
"Let me explain something, my hair is not to be meddled wi-!"
Doctor Strange was suddenly behind Thor, he plucked a strand of hair. He extended the hair and infused it with magic. Suddenly they were downstairs by the main staircase.
Thor rolled down the stairs groaning. "We could have just walked."
"You couldn't take it easy on him?" Everleigh questioned looking at Doctor Strange, her brow quirked slightly in concern seeing how pale Thor was.
"He's waiting for you."
"All right."
"Don't forget your umbrella."
"Yes." Thor extended his arm and held out his hand. A lot of loud crashing noises could be heard. "Sorry." The umbrella flew into his hand. "I suppose I'll need my brother back."
"Yeah, right."
Suddenly a portal appeared and screaming could be heard. Loki dropped out of the portal landing hard on the floor. He staggered to his feet, on edge rather confused. "I have been falling...for thirty minutes!"
Everleigh let out a breath pinching the bridge of her nose not liking the idea of how Doctor Strange was treating Loki.
"You can handle him from here."
"Yeah of course." Thor shook his hand. "Thank you very much for your help."
"Good luck."
"Handle me? Who are you?" Loki snarled in anger.
"Loki." Thor said, looking at his brother.
Loki drew his dagger ready to attack the man that had left him falling for 30 minutes. "You think you're some kind of sorcerer? Don't think for one minute, you second-rate…"
"Bye-bye." He gestured with both hands making the magic portal that he had made for Thor move over the three of them leaving him alone in the main lobby of the santorum alone.
Everleigh gasped, falling to her knees. "That asshole." She grumbled as she shakily got up to her feet. "I hate it when he does that."

This is the end of Chapter 72. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I know that there isn't much of Everleigh in it, but I promise I'll be adding more of her in this part of the story. It's just taking some time to make the chapters right. Please leave a review of what you think. What do you think of Doctor Strange sending her with the brothers? Do you think Thor will figure out that Everleigh knew that Loki was alive? I think it would ruin their friendship if he finds out. But I don't fully know what to do with that part just yet. Reviews help me keep on going with updating this story. I'll update next Monday. Until next time.
