To vi – Thanks for your review!
To Guest – 1. I haven't fully decided what I'm going to do with Donna and Rachel, but I won't be spending a lot of time on it. 2. Yeah, you can expect that, though maybe not that much as their encounters will be few. 3. A conversation will be coming, though not as quickly as you might think. I am enjoying season 4 so far! I hope you like this chapter!
To Alex martry – I'm glad you liked the last chapter! I suppose I could work that in. I haven't really though much about the Batman suit, but I think it will be the same as the one used in Dick's nightmare, since it would've come from his memories of the Batman suit. I hope you like this chapter!
To CrazyMulan52 – Thanks for your review! I'm glad you liked the deal with Dick and Barbara! Well, Dick's trying to get better at asking for help and understanding that he can't do everything alone, (though he can do quite a lot), but it's still a bit hard for him as that requires trusting people and given his history with people walking out on him (i.e. Hank, Dawn and Donna). That is going to come up later though, don't worry. Well, Conner is still like a baby to me and is still learning lol. Yeah, I didn't like Valeska either. Thankfully, she'll only make one, maybe two more appearances and that's it I think. I hope you like this chapter!
AN – Hey everyone! Sorry this chapter is a week later. I didn't get as much writing done as I had wanted, so I wanted to take another week to get more writing done.
Warning, this chapter gets a little strange. It takes place when the actual episode 2 does, but I liked that episode and wanted to keep a lot of what happened in the show in this story. So for the chapter, I added a few things, and went a little deeper on others scenes, but for the most part, what happened in episode 2 happens in this chapter. Also, I have no clue if Gar is vegan, I have heard that there are times in different adaptions he is, but I have no clue if that's true or not. As far as I'm aware of, that hasn't been addressed yet in this show, so for now, he's not. Hope you all like this chapter!
Enjoy!
"After the murder of Batman's sidekick, Robin, and the murder of the Joker, the citizens of Gotham didn't think anything more could surprise them. They were proven wrong last night however by the sudden arrival of the superhero team known as the Titans, who are originally based in San Francisco," the news reporter on the TV screen stated.
Gar watched intently from his spot at the kitchen island as he ate his cereal. Maybe he was being a little full of himself but he liked listening to the reporters talk about his team. In San Francisco, the reports raved about the heroes, and the majority of the public loved them. However, he knew that Gotham was going to be different. He online stalked superheroes long before he met Rachel, Dick and Kory, to know that some cities weren't a fan of having vigilantes, and Gotham was one of them. So far, everything he had been hearing seemed to be positive though. That was good.
Probably because we have a better reputation and are much nicer than Batman, Gar thought to himself with a chuckle.
"What's so funny?" Conner asked as he entered the kitchen. Krypto followed right on his heel.
"Nothing, just thinking to myself," Gar answered, then pointed to one of the cabinets. "Cereal is over there. Apparently, the butler here never approved of it, so Dick bought some specially for us."
"Why doesn't the butler like it?" Conner wondered as he headed over to the cabinet his friend had pointed at.
"From what Dick said, the guy didn't think that cereal was filling or nutritional enough. He'd make eggs with toast and bacon, and other fancy, proper, breakfast meals like that." Gar lifted a hand to make quotation marks around the word 'proper'.
With his mouth now full of Froot Loops, the clone said, "Bacon is good though."
"It is," the shapeshifter quickly agreed, "but having stuff like eggs, waffles, and pancakes every single day can get old too. Some days, you just want a nice bowl of Frosted Flakes."
Traveling with his parents meant that Gar got to eat all types of food. For the most part, he enjoyed them. It was fun to try all different kinds of cuisine from different countries, even if some of them did give him food poisoning. However, there were still days where he craved a piece of toast with some butter and jam. Or cereal.
When he lived with Chief, he was able to have that every now and then, but still not as often as he liked because Larry would go all out for breakfast, just like he did with every meal. Larry wouldn't make a fuss if Gar chose to eat something simple, but the teenager always felt like he was insulting Larry's cooking when he did that.
Dick may not always be the best when it came to food, he would never live down the cauliflower pizza abomination, but he gave them more freedom when it came to food. He always made sure that everyone got a chance to choose what to eat, and often had days where they could have whatever they wanted. As long as they ate some fruits and vegetables instead of stuffing their faces with junk food, he didn't make a big deal about it.
"What are you watching?" Conner asked, sitting down beside Gar, his voice bringing him out of his thoughts.
"The news. I wanted to see what they were saying about us," Gar explained.
"What are they saying?"
"Nothing bad, so far. Mostly, they're just announcing our arrival and speculating on what that means and where Batman is."
"Sounds boring. Can we switch to cartoons?"
Not long after Conner moved into the Tower, Gar introduced him to the TV and video games. Despite all the amazing shows and movies, it was still the early morning cartoons that were his favourite. Nobody really had a problem with it though as he was willing to watch their shows with them when it was their turn.
Gar grabbed the remote and went to chance the channel when he heard loud voices coming from outside the room. It sounded like two people, and they were clearly fighting.
"Who is that?" Gar asked quietly, leaning closer to Conner. Because he was part Kryptonian, he had better hearing than everyone else. Except for maybe Krypto, but the dog couldn't tell them what he heard.
"It's Hank and Dawn," Conner said, still staring at the TV, expecting Gar to change the channel.
"What are they saying?" Gar asked curiously, finding the apparent argument far more interesting than the TV.
"I think it's about last night," Conner answered as he turned his head to face the wall that was blocking the two older Titans from sight. Before they could say or do anything more though, Hank and Dawn stormed into the room.
"I told you, if you're going to Dove, I'm going to Hawk! And that's what I did!" Hank yelled as he stomped to the fridge. He didn't look over at Gar and Conner, apparently thinking that the room was empty.
"You were unnecessarily reckless and almost downright stupid!" Dawn fired back as she followed him. "I allowed you to come with me if you promised you would be careful!"
"Excuse me? You 'allowed me'? I don't need your permission to do anything!" Hank shouted, turning around to face her.
The former ballerina took a deep breath, then said in a calmer tone of voice, "I didn't mean it like that."
"Well, then how did you mean it?" Hank questioned, crossing his arms. His voice was quieter and calmer as well, but it was obvious he was still angry and offended.
"We talked about this when we went to D.C. Because of your past injuries, going out as Hawk was too dangerous for you. We talked again when we decided to come here. No unnecessary risks. Practically everything you did last night was an unnecessary risk," Dawn told him.
"Maybe not to you, but it was necessary to me," Hank replied. Dawn let out a frustrated sigh and turned around. Her line of sight landed directly on Gar and Conner.
With a nervous voice, she asked, "How long have you two been in here?"
"The entire time," Gar responded. "We were in here before you two barged in."
The two blondes both looked down at their feet sheepishly. The fact that they had some… issues, wasn't really a secret, but that didn't mean they wanted anyone to witness their fights. Especially not the kids.
"Sorry," Hank mumbled as he looked down as his feet while Dawn added, "We didn't notice that you guys were in here."
"It's okay," Gar said, though he was a bit taken aback at the fight. He hadn't expected the fight to be like that. He kinda thought it would be like when Dick and Kory argue. A little humourous, a little petty, and with a bunch of teasing and flirting.
"Do you guys want some cereal?" Gar wondered, showing them his bowl.
"What?" Hank seemed a bit thrown by the sudden change of the subject.
"Dick bought some," Conner added, apparently noticing the confusion.
"What did I buy?" Everyone in the room turned to see Dick enter the kitchen, slipping on his brown coat and running a hand through his hair.
Grinning, Conner said, "You bought us cereal."
"Oh, that. Yeah, I did. But there's also eggs and other stuff if you want to make something else," Dick told them.
Dawn nodded as she said, "That sounds good. Thanks."
"You going somewhere?" Hank inquired, gesturing to the jacket.
"To the police station," the brunette answered. "Barbara called, said there's something that I need to see."
"Titan business?" Gar asked.
"Not sure yet. I'll be in touch soon," he informed them, then walked back out of the room.
For a moment, everyone was completely silent, unsure of what to do now and still feeling awkwardness of the fight that occurred only moments earlier. Then, Dawn said, "I'm going to make scrambled eggs. Anyone want some?"
"Yes please," Conner immediately responded, despite the half-eaten bowl of cereal still in his hands. Sitting by his feet, Krypto let out two barks, as though saying he would also like some eggs. Hank shrugged, but also gave a half-nod.
"Alright then. It'll be ready in a few minutes."

*Scenes where Dick meets Barbara and woman who set off bomb wanting to talk to Nightwing and interrogation*
2018TITANS2018
Kory wandered aimlessly through the Manor. She had slept in a bit, unlike the others. She hadn't been sleeping well the last few nights. She kept having terrifying and confusing dreams. By the time she did crawl out of bed, it was time for lunch and Dick was gone. Gar told her that he got a call from Barbara and he had to go to the police station, but he hadn't updated them yet on what was going on. That wasn't surprising. Dick wasn't that great at keeping them posted on what he was doing unless something serious happened, if they had plans that needed to be changed, or if someone called him themselves. If they didn't hear anything from him soon, she'd give him a call and see what was going on.
Walking down one of the many hallways, she found herself standing in front of an open doorway that led to a bedroom. Seeing a familiar, brown, leather bag by the foot of the bed, she realized that this was Dick's room. Curious, she slowly made her way inside.
The room was set up and designed the same as the guest room she was given. The others were probably like it too. It didn't really seem to suit him. His room at Titans Tower though, you could tell it was his. Maybe it was because he was living there and all of his stuff there. He hadn't lived in the Manor in years. But still, she expected to see more of him in the room that he had grown up in besides the Flying Graysons poster over the bed.
Spying something sticking out of a line of books on a shelf, she walked over to it. It was a picture frame. Why was a picture frame stuck in-between books instead of hanging on a wall? She pulled it out and saw it was some kind of document, not a picture.
"'I, Richard D. Grayson, under no circumstances, not death, nor love, nor loneliness, will ever give comfort to fear'," Kory read out loud. Dick's signature was at the bottom of the page, just above Bruce's.
"Welcome to Camp Cruel and Unusual," she mumbled to herself, putting the frame back in its place.
As soon it was on the shelf again, her vision went black and the room was gone.
Suddenly, she was somewhere dark and cold. She was lying down on something, yet was moving. The moving light fixtures that weren't on and the sound of squeaky wheels gave that away. She tried to move, but she couldn't. There was something tight around her wrists and ankles so she couldn't do more than jerk her limbs a few inches. When she tried to sit up, she realized there was something around her chest, holding her down. There was also a face leaning over her, but she didn't recognize him at all. Then she passed a wall that kind of looked like a mirror. She saw her reflection, but it wasn't her, and she screamed.

Dawn was currently hiding in one of the many sitting rooms in the Manor. After fighting with Hank, a fight that was witnessed by Gar and Conner, she just wanted to be alone. Thankfully, the others let her.
Her relationship with Hank was complicated right now. After dealing with Deathstroke, she made it clear that she didn't want to get back together right now. It wasn't long after that, that it became clear that Hank had to put Hawk to rest. While everyone was supportive of him, it was obvious that her fellow blonde hated being surrounded by heroes without being able to suit up himself. So, when she decided to head to D.C. and Hank mentioned wanting to come along, she agreed. As long as he didn't push get back together, that is. She just wanted a break from all the drama and craziness.
Maybe it was a mistake to come here. She wanted to help Dick, not only because she did consider him a friend despite everything, but to make up for what she did. Once the dust settled a few months ago, she finally realized that she didn't handle things well when it came to Dick, Jericho and Deathstroke. However, she wasn't really sure what to do to fix it. There had been an awkward conversation about it, and apologizes were exchanged and accepted, but it just, didn't feel like it was enough. When she and Hank left, things still hadn't been resolved. She was hoping that they could work on it now that they were all together, but things were so crazy already, she wasn't sure.
Hearing shouting coming from the kitchen, Dawn sat up straighter, completely alert. It sounded like Kory. And, was that Gar? What were they fighting about?
Worried, as she had never heard Kory yell like that before, Dawn got to her feet and rushed towards the kitchen. Apparently, that was the room to go to when people wanted to fight.
Inside the room, were Kory, Gar and Conner. Kory was standing in one corner, shaking and.. scared. Conner was standing right in front of Gar, and both looked freaked out. What really grabbed Dawn's attention though, was the small fire in the oven right by the door she came through.
"What the h*ll is going on?" Dawn demanded.
"I, uh," Kory stammered. "I don't know."
She then walked right out of the room. Dawn watched her leave, then turned to face the boys.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, we're okay," Gar answered, still appearing a bit shaken.
"She shot fire at us," Conner told her. "She never does that, not even in training."
Dawn raised her eyebrows. "That's not good. What happened?"
The boys quickly filled her in on how Kory had walked through the library, yelling in a different language. They had never seen her do that before, and she completely ignored them when they tried to talk to her. So, they followed her into the kitchen and asked her if she was okay, but she shot fire right at Gar. Conner jumped in front of him and used his ice breath to direct the flames towards the oven. Then, Kory stopped and seemed to snap out of whatever daze she was in, but she didn't seem to know what happened. Dawn came into the room right after that.
When they finished explaining everything, Dawn quickly checked them over, wanting to make sure that neither one of them was injured. Seeing that they were indeed okay though, the three of them worked together to clean the small mess that had been made. It only took a few minutes. Then, she went looking for Kory. If she was going crazy or losing control of her powers, they needed to know and find a way to fix it.
She found the alien standing in one of the hallways on the far right side of the Manor, talking on the phone.
"Bye Justin," Kory whispered before she hung up the phone.
"Who's Justin?" Dawn wondered, having never heard a person named 'Justin' before. Did Dick know about him? Is that why they hadn't gotten together yet?
Kory flinched and immediately turned around. She calmed down a little when she saw that it was just her, and she said, "He's no one. Just a guy I met a few months ago."
"A man who happens to have your number usually isn't 'no one'," Dawn replied with a slight smirk.
Kory chuckled a little and said, "It was like, a one-night kind of thing. I gave him my number after a few too many drinks. He's actually a therapist. Haven't talked to him until now."
"Because of what happened?" Dawn prodded, her tone becoming more serious instead of teasing.
"Something like that," Kory mumbled as she looked down at the ground.
Dawn took a step closer. "Tell me what's going on."
"I've been having these blackouts." Kory twisted her hands nervously. "It's only happened twice now but, both times, strange things had happened. The first time, it was the night after we found out that Jason had been killed. One moment, I was in the Tower and the next, I was standing in the middle of the road. And today, I was in Dick's room, then suddenly, I was in the kitchen and there was a fire on the stove."
"You have no clue what you were doing? Or why?"
"No. I… I'd get these, visions, I guess? Like, it looks like I'm in this creepy tunnel, and I'm tied down. I don't know why, but they don't feel like my memories."
"That doesn't make any sense," Dawn said with a confused expression.
"I know," Kory agreed.
"Does Dick know about this?" Dawn asked. She doubted Kory would've told him about Justin, but the blackouts were clearly something serious. He should be aware of what was going on.
Kory shook her head. "No, he doesn't. There hasn't been any time, and he seems stressed enough as it is. If it happens again, then I'll tell him."
"You should tell him now," the human said. Placing a hand on her friend's shoulder, she added, "If this keeps happening, you, or others, could get hurt."
"I know, but I don't want to add to his stress. Plus, he's still grieving Jason's death. He doesn't need to deal with my personal issues," Kory responded.
"And if it happens again?"
"If it does, then I'll tell him. But until then, can we keep this between us?"
Though Dawn didn't think it was a good idea, she said, "Okay."

Nightwing fought with a smile on his face. After the mess up with the bank, he felt like he was on the top of his game. As sad as it may be, it was like he had found his footing for the first time since Alfred told him that Jason was dead. Gar had figured out what this new criminal, the Red Hood, was trying to do, kind of, and they tracked him down. Now, all Dick had to do was kick this gun-wielding maniac's a**.
During the quick fight, the Red Hood proved he had combat training, supporting Dick's theory about him possibly being military. However, it wasn't enough to defeat the vigilante. He had far more experience than this guy. It only took seconds and a well-aimed blow to the helmet to send his opponent away and towards the floor. It looked like he may have broken the helmet too.
But then, the Red Hood stood up straight and turned to face him.
"Bruce always told me you were better than me with the toys."
Dick froze in shock, recognizing the voice, and the visible part of the man's face. But, it couldn't be. Hesitantly, he said, "Jason?"
"In living colour," the criminal, Jason, confirmed. "I got a new name now though. You'll be hearing it a lot around here. Red Hood."
