And here we go for chapter fourteen. This is where things will be even more darker than before so heads up on that one. Also, this is where you will get a good glimpse of Devil Pit's "Special Weapon." And yes, I watched Chuggaaconroy's playthrough of the game and he said that this chapter is his favorite. I wonder what he would think about this DLC content? Also, once again, fair warning for this chapter just like the last one. But anyways, you already know the disclaimer, so enjoy!

Chapter 14: Lightning Battle + DLC: The Executioner's Weapon

Music playing: Lightning Battle

Pit rushed to the door with the Beam Claws equipped to begin the next mission. "Moving out!" he said until a laser beam shot at Pit and he dodged it. "Augh!" he yelped as he hopped out of the door and it was engulfed into flames as Pit was into the sky. "Is the door busted?" he asked his goddess. "The door is the least of our concerns," replied Palutena. "Hades has rejoined the fray." "Oh, no!" Pit cried. "Oh, yes," said Palutena. "Now we have both his AND Viridi's forces wreaking havoc!" And I have a feeling that things are going to get worse when HE shows up, she added in thought. We better keep an eye out for him. As on queue, the War of Chaos is still going on between all three armies. Devil Pit saw it all unfolded. "This is a fantastic show!" he exclaimed. "I'm enjoying every single scene of it! And of course, I'm going to make it a lot more better than before!" He then flew into the war to begin his next step of the plan. Back to Pit, who was fighting both armies at once, which was really a pain to deal with. "The Underworld Army and Forces of Nature are out for blood—each other's AND yours," Palutena explained. Then she started to tell Pit about which commander was leading either army. "On the Underworld side, Hades has put Thanatos back into play as commander," she continued. "Thanatos?! He's still alive?!" Pit asked in shock. "Apparently," Palutena replied. "And leading the Forces of Nature is Phosphora." "Phosphora?" Pit asked. As soon as he said her name, the Lightning Nymph herself appeared. "Yes? You called?" she said. "So you're commanding the Forces of Nature?" Pit questioned. Then he saw Thanatos looking like some type of glowing dragon of some sorts. "We're in the middle of something here!" he said. "Can this wait?" "So Thanatos was resurrected as...a glowworm?" Pit asked. "I think the look he's going for is more glow dragon," said Palutena. Devil Pit saw the battle flow and was both shocked and angry to see both his jailer and another arch-enemy. "It would seem that they're making the battle more difficult for Pit," he said. "But not unless I join the fray! It's time to show them what I can do!" He then flew closer to the battle to unleash a surprise attack. Pit saw the whole battle go on and was surprised. "Wow, this is crazy!" he exclaimed. "It's the Underworld versus Nature, their commanders locked in fierce battle..." said Palutena. Which unfortunately was what Devil Pit planned, and it happened before many years ago, she added in thought. Speaking of which, I'm sensing his presence somewhere, but I can't even point out where he's located. Palutena then flew Pit after both commanders. "I'm ready to pull you out of there if things get out of control," she continued. "I can't believe Thanatos is still alive," Pit said in disbelief. "And quite perky, from the looks of things," said Palutena. (A/N: Well we already know who feels the same way.) "Well, that's only fair," said Pit. "I've been finished off a few times myself." Palutena soon thought for a moment about Thanatos' resurrection. "Hmm..." she wondered. "Thanatos, Pandora, Hewdraw... Hades revived them all from the old days. It must have taken some work to bring them back." "But this is Thanatos's third time around!" said Pit. "Thanatos is a bit of a...special case," said Hades who just arrived to watch the scene. "You're telling me," replied Pit. "He is the God of Death, after all," Hades continued. "So he gets perks like evil powers and health insurance. And free soda." (A/N: Is that why Thanatos acts like a clown of some sorts or what?) "Resurrected from the dead—that's some health insurance!" said Palutena. Thanatos and Phosphora were still going at it and nearly hit Pit. "Whoa!" he yelped. Devil Pit was on the other side of their battle and noticed the chaos still happening. "Everything is still going as planned," he said. "Now all I have to do is to make the surprise attack when they arrive." He continued to fly towards his destination to begin the surprise attack. "I gotta admit—he's fast!" Pit exclaimed, who was still watching the fight. "Must be all that free soda." "Lovely little Phosphora's no slouch in the fighting department, either," said Hades. "Ugh, will you stop trying to butter up all the ladies? It's gross." groaned Palutena in disgust. (A/N: Come to think of it, I don't think I would rather see Hades with a bunch of girls. I'm with Palutena on that one.) "There's nothing wrong with compliments," said Viridi, who came out to watch the fight, too. "Viridi! Where'd you come from?" Pit questioned. "But Commander Phosphora must also be respected for her power!" Viridi continued, who didn't answer the question. "Anyway, Pit, just keep after Phosphora and Thanatos," said Palutena. "It's great how they're wearing each other out like this. I mean, who knows? You may have to fight them both at the same time." "Well, we all know how THAT would end," Viridi scoffed. "Almost makes you take pity on Pitty," said Hades. Devil Pit heard the entire conversation. "Not one of you shall leave this place alive," he said. "Not if I have anything to say about it!" He then waited at where he was at right now to begin the surprise attack. Back to the battle, Hades was starting to get worried about Thanatos. "Thannypoo, are you OK?" he asked. (A/N: *smirk* It's funny when Hades called Thanatos that.) "Oh, yes! I'm just peachy!" said Thanatos, who looked a little scared of losing the battle. "He doesn't seem peachy..." said Palutena, unconvinced. "That's because Phosphora combines the depeachifying power and speed of lightning!" said Viridi. Suddenly, right when all three of them escaped that whirlwind, Pit saw someone heading their way. "Huh?" he wondered. He noticed that it was Devil Pit, who was going after both Thanatos AND Phosphora, and gasped. "Uh oh!" he panicked. "Lady Palutena! You need to get me over to the battle as fast as you can!" "Wh-What?" exclaimed Palutena, who was taken aback by his request. "Are you sure you wanna do that? It's too dangerous!" "Devil Pit is going to attack them! You need to take me over there NOW!" Pit ordered. "O-Okay!" Palutena reluctantly complied and flew Pit to the battle. Devil Pit saw his arch-enemy approaching. "It appears that he noticed about my surprise attack already, but it will be too late for him to warn these idiots," he said. "Now then, TIME TO STRIKE!" He then charged at Thanatos and Phosphora at full speed. "Alright, Phosphora!" said Viridi. "Finish him!" "With pleasure, Mistress Viridi," said Phosphora. "Get ready, Thanatos. I've prepared a finishing blow just for you." "Oh dear..." Thanatos groaned in worry and Phosphora charged at him. Pit flew to the battle as fast as he could and yelled, "THANATOS! PHOSPHORA! WATCH OUT!" But the commanders didn't notice until too late and Devil Pit punched the both of them and stole half of their powers. "AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" they cried as they flew backwards straight to Pit. "Hang on!" said Pit, and he caught both the Lightning Nymph and God of Death just in time. "I got you!" he exclaimed and pulled them up to safety. "Are you two alright?" he asked. "Yes, we're fine," Phosphora answered. "But what happened?" Thanatos asked. "I think I have the answer to that question, Thanatos," said Devil Pit. "That voice... Oh no...!" Thanatos gasped and all three of them turned around to see Devil Pit.

Devil Pit smiled sinisterly at his enemies. "Nice to see you again, Thanatos, one of my jailors," he said until he noticed the fear look on his eyes. "Aren't you happy to see me again? You look like you've seen a monster. Hmhmhmhmhm..." he chuckled. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Thanatos shouted. "HOW DID YOU ESCAPE FROM YOUR PRISON?!" "You can thank Pit for freeing me, God of Clowns," Devil Pit replied. "He was the one that broke the Mirror of Truth to release me." This made Thanatos angry and yelled at Pit, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" "Hey hey hey! In my defense, I didn't know he would be in there!" Pit exclaimed while raising his hands. "What are you guys even talking about?" Phosphora questioned. "None your questions even matter," said Devil Pit. "Now that we're all here, how about we play a little game?" "What game?" asked Pit. "The 'Cat and Mouse' game," Devil Pit responded. "It's pretty simple. You guys are the cats and I'm the mouse. But sometimes it might also be the other way around, because I have these weapons." He then summoned the Phosphora Bow and the Thanatos Staff. "I got them after I absorbed your powers, and let's see how fast you are to defeat me." He then started to fly away. "Catch me if you can, fools!" He then flew away as fast as he could. "Hey! Get back here!" yelled Pit as he chased after him and then called to the other commanders. "Phosphora! Thanatos! Help me catch and defeat him!" Thanatos and Phosphora reluctantly agreed to join forces and the chase was on.

Devil Pit starts the battle by striking down lightning with the Phosphora Bow. The three of them avoided those attacks. "Yikes!" Pit yelped. "He's too fast for us to keep up!" said Thanatos. "Then we better hurry and slow him down!" said Phosphora. "If you really think you can defeat me that easily, then you're dead wrong," said Devil Pit. "With this power, I shall destroy all of you completely. Like so." He then turned into a glow dragon, just like Thanatos did, and charged at his enemies at high speed. "Watch out!" Palutena warned. The three of them saw the attack and dodged quickly. "You're not getting away, Devil Pit! I'll make sure that you're taken down!" Pit yelled and launched shooting attacks at Devil Pit and he dealt some damage. "Argh!" he growled in pain. "That smarts! But let's see if you can dodge THIS!" He then fired quick shots at Pit with the Phosphora bow which Pit avoided, and Phosphora counterattacked with her lightning attacks. This also caused Devil Pit to be paralyzed. "Ouch!" he cried. "I can barely move now!" "That's because you're paralyzed," said Phosphora. "I'm quick and nimble when it comes to the electric element." "Clever," said Devil Pit. "But not clever enough when I can do THIS!" He turned into a glow dragon again and charged at Phosphora, only for Thanatos to block him with HIS glow dragon form. "Ack!" Devil Pit yelled as he was bounced back. "Hohoho! This is so much fun ever since my fight back at the Sea Floor Palace!" he laughed. "You're the one to talk, clown," said Devil Pit. Throughout all of this, Palutena, Viridi, even Hades are surprised to see the three of them working together to defeat Devil Pit. "Are you guys seeing this?" asked Palutena. "I never believed that they would work together to face a monster like him!" exclaimed Viridi. "Now that you mentioned it, Thanatos really does know how to fight properly when it comes to someone like Devil Pit," said Hades. Then the gods decided to ask their servants their questions. Viridi is the first one to ask, "Why are you helping the enemies face of Devil Pit, Phosphora? They're clearly our targets!" "I'm only willing to take down that Devil and then head back to the Thunder Cloud Temple to recharge myself after this," Phosphora replied. That and I think there's something familiar about him, but I can't put my finger on him, she added in thought. Wow... Viridi thought. It's like Pit is willing to helped others in defeated a monster like Devil Pit no matter what... I wonder... But she shook her head to snap out of it. NO! I have to focus in defeated him! she mentally yelled. He's my ENEMY! "Thanypoo, why are you helping Pitty Pat and Phosphora in this fight?" asked Hades. "Our prisoner escaped from the Underworld and needs to be stopped!" Thanatos replied. "It is a serious moment we must endure!" Never thought I would imagine one of my commanders helping out an enemy of mine, Hades thought. Though he does have a point about our prisoner who escaped. "Pit, mind explaining to me why you're helping both of our targets?" asked Palutena. "Listen, Lady Palutena," Pit began. "No matter how terrible this war has become for all of us, Devil Pit will not stop committing his massacre. It is of this moment that he must be stopped at all costs! Even if our enemies might not be with us till the end, we cannot let this monster continue his crimes any longer! He must be stopped, and we need to see our justice!" Wow... My little angel has grown up to be a strong warrior! Pautena thought in amazement. He really is indeed strong! The three of them managed to tire out Devil Pit. "Alright, Phosphora!" said Pit. "Finish this monster!" "Will do!" Phosphora affirmed. She then charged at Devil Pit and kicked him with a powerful electric blow. "Finishing blow!" she shouted. "Argh!" Devil Pit groaned in pain as he was defeated.

Devil Pit then lost his weapons and both Thanatos' and Phosphora's powers, which returned back to them after that. "Curse you, arch-enemies!" Devil Pit yelled. "This isn't the last time you see me! I will return!" He then flew away in retreat and warning. "Bravo! BraVO!" cheered Viridi. "Thank you, my mistress," Phosphora thanked. "Whew! Thank goodness he's gone for now..." Pit sighed in relief. "But I doubt that's the last time we see him." "No worries," said Thanatos. "We'll make sure that he won't continue any longer." "And how are you going to do that?" Pit asked. "Simple. I'm going to help you," Thanatos replied. "Now I know that sounds crazy coming from a commander of the Underworld, but since that Devil is on the loose planning ahead, we need to plan ahead as well. But don't worry, neither Lord Hades or Viridi are listening to us. Only your goddess can hear us." "Yes I can," said Palutena. "But are you sure you can be trustworthy?" "I'm serious," said Thanatos. "I better return to the Underworld right now before Lord Hades becomes suspicious." "Well...OK..?" said Pit, who's still in disbelief that Thanatos is indeed helping him. Thanatos was whisked away by Hades, who didn't seem to hear the conversation.

Music stops and switches back to: Lightning Battle

Pit then turned around to try to talk to Phosphora. "Hey Phosphora, what about-" he started, but then realized that she was gone. "Um... Where's Phosphora?" "She must be recharging after your battle with Devil Pit," Palutena explained. "Now's your chance. Let's hit her before she fully recovers." This made Pit confused, but he decided to go along with it. "Good idea!" he said. "We may not have the best dental plan, but justice is on our side!" said Paluntea. "Now it's OUR turn to bring the thunder!" exclaimed Pit after receiving four more Recovery Orbs. But then they decided to whisper to each other before continuing forward. "Um... Lady Palutena? Are you sure that's a good idea?" Pit asked, quietly. "Listen, you're not actually going to do it, but just play along," said Palutena. "We've already convinced Arlon and now Thanatos convinced us. It's your turn to convince Phosphora to join us. But don't do that right now, because the others might get suspicious." "Understood," Pit affirmed, ending the conversation. "Shoot! They're going to attack Phosphora!" yelled Viridi before ordering her troops. "Children! Do not let that angel reach her!" Pit then approached to a whirling mass of clouds while fighting the Forces of Nature troops. "Phosphora's in the middle of those clouds," said Palutena. "Persistent, aren't we?!" exclaimed Phosphora. Pit then got closer and closer to where he needed to be, but he can't get through the clouds. "I'm going to open up a path through these storm clouds," Palutena warned. "Stay sharp!" She then opened up a path for Pit to go through within the storm. "This is intense!" Pit exclaimed. "Hold on as best you can," said Palutena. "Phosphora is definitely up this way." "Nope. There's nobody here." Phosphora hilariously lied. "We can totally hear you!" Pit exclaimed. And we'll do whatever it takes for you to join us! he added in thought. Soon enough, he was near the exit of the tunnel. "Just about there," Palutena pointed. "Three... Two... One... You're out!" And he was, until he saw another temple. The Thunder Cloud Temple. "This is the Thunder Cloud Temple" Palutena explained. "It's been abandoned since ancient times." Since...that war... she added in thought. "Here already?" Phosphora complained. "I didn't even have a chance to take a shower!" "Too bad!" Pit shouted. We're going to have you join us whether you want to or not! he added in thought. Suddenly, a blue beam of lighting came out of the temple and Pit avoided it quickly. "Wah!" he yelped. "I guess she's not completely spent after your battle with Devil Pit," said Palutena. "It's just one fight after another. Today is not my day," Phosphora complained again. "The fortune Mistress Viridi read me didn't paint a very good picture either." "Wait... Viridi reads fortunes?" Pit wondered. "I wonder what other services she offers," Palutena said. "Anyway... It's on!" said Pit, determined to not only defeat Phosphora, but also recruit her. "Looking forward to it!" Phosphora replied. I also look forward to see how tough you really are, she added in thought. And hopefully I can figure out why that "Devil Pit" guy seemed familiar to me. "Sending you in!" Palutena pointed out as she guided Pit into the Thunder Cloud Temple. Neither of them noticed that Devil Pit was already there. "Fools," he said. "Did you really think I ran away? I followed you from the other side. Now then, it's time to give Pit and Phosphora a little payback again." He then followed Pit into the temple.

Music stops and switches to: Thunder Cloud Temple

Pit landed in the temple, ate the food, and proceeded onwards, while Devil Pit landed on the other side and followed his path while avoiding himself from getting spotted by Viridi's forces. "It looks like Phosphora is powering this place. You'll need to cut off the supply," said Palutena. "Some of the pillars and walls are electrified. Don't get zapped!" Pit managed to be careful and not touch anything electrical. He also took down more enemies that were in his way. He then entered a lift that was also electrical around it. "This level would be way easier if my sandals were rubber," he said. "It's not my fault you conduct electricity so well," Phosphora giggled. "We'll see who's laughing when I shut the power down!" said Pit, determined. Well, maybe not that, because we need to convince you to join us, he added in thought. He then continued onwards and used a Jump Pad to go another floor where there was a giant diamond-shaped generator around the barrier. "I think that's a power supply to some of the areas in this temple," said Palutena. "Destroying it will probably make life easier for you." Pit took down more enemies and destroyed the first generator to continue onwards. "Wooohooo!" he exclaimed. "That seemed to cut some of the power, so you can move forward now," said Palutena. "Whatever. It's no skin off my back," Phosphora sighed. Devil Pit heard their conversations. "As if cutting off the power is going to help you out," he said. "It'll make my job easier and I'll get my revenge on the both of you for humiliating me back at that storm." He continued onwards while avoiding detection. Then he began to reminisce something. "There's something unusual about this temple," he continued. "It gives me memories about the time I fought that Thunder God here. Good times for bloodlust murder." Back to Pit, who continued onwards and took down more enemies. He also found some type of train car. "Is that a train car?" he asked. "There's something inside of it," said Palutena. "Break it open, and I'll move its contents near the exit for you to grab." "Sure, go right on ahead," said Phosphora. Pit did so and destroyed it and collected its goodies. But he was also confused and asked to Phosphora, "Aren't you going to put up a fight?" "What do I care? This isn't my place." Phosphora responded. Although there's something familiar about it, and it's giving me bad memories, she added in thought. It reminded me of my family before...that incident... "So you're basically squatting in this abandoned temple," said Palutena. "Dignified." "Not squatting. Repurposing!" Phosphora replied. "Besides, I'll be out of here before too long." "Why's that?" Pit asked. "Because the free-spirited Phosphora isn't one to put down roots. Like a hobo," said Viridi. "Anyway, I've been busy with the Underworld Army, so I've asked her to defeat you." "I'd like to see her try!" said Pit, determined. But I'd also like for her to join us soon, so that we can join forces to stop Devil Pit together, he added in thought. "Ooh, what bluster! What bravado!" Phosphora applauded. "I guess I can't back down now!" Pit continued onwards and also took down another train and collected its goods, until he was ambushed by the Forces of Nature's troops again. Luckily, he took them out and proceeded to more forward. Meanwhile, Devil Pit continued on his path. He also heard about Phosphora not living here and was not concerned. "Are you sure this isn't your place, Phosphora?" he asked, even though he knew she didn't hear him. "Because I remembered the last time you were here all those years ago before you joined the Forces of Nature." He then continued onwards more sneakily without others noticing. Back to Pit, who continued to take down more enemies and continued on his path to complete his mission. "Phosphora is busy recharging at the temple's center," Palutena pointed. "Got it," Pit affirmed. "You'll need to move fast and get to her before she's done," Palutena continued. But in actuality, you need to convince her to join us, she added in thought. "Absolutely, Lady Palutena!" Pit replied. "Absolutely, Lady Palutena!" Phosphora mocked, and then she began to flirt with Pit. "You're such a yes-man, Pit. Good thing you're so cute." "You're...you're not just making fun of me now, are you?" Pit asked, blushing embarrassingly. "Aw, you're turning red! That's even cuter!" Phosphora continued flirting. Viridi heard that and was enraged. Why do you have to flirt with him? she mentally yelled. Only I get to be with that angel, not you! ...Wait a second... She then shook her head. WHAT AM I THINKING?! It doesn't matter if that angel gets embarrassed by that or not nor do I care about him! I need to FOCUS! she mentally yelled again. (A/N: Yeah for the record, you already know who I ship Pit with. You'll see who I ship Phosphora with later on.) "He embarrasses easily," said Palutena. "Don't mind him." "Oh, don't give it a second thought...ma'am," said Phosphora. "Uh-oh..." Pit said, worried. "Uh oh" is right. That can't be good... Viridi thought, worried as well. "Did you just call me 'ma'am?'" Palutena questioned. "Are you trying to start something?" "You're right, I'm sorry," Phosphora apologized. "You're MUCH too young to be called 'ma'am.'" "You know as well as I do the lifespan of gods," Palutena responded. "And how about you? What's YOUR age?" Then the two of them responded simultaneously, "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!" "For the record... I don't mind being called 'sir,'" said Pit. "Yes, well, as much as I'd like to continue this delightful chat, I have things to do," Phosphora concluded. "I know it's difficult when she's flirting with you, but remember that she's the enemy," Palutena told her angel servent. "Right," he responded. Devil Pit heard the entire conversation and facepalmed at the stupidity. "What kind of conversation was THAT?" he groaned. "That was the most stupidest one I have ever heard in my entire afterlife." He continued onwards without any further notice. Back to Pit, who did the same thing and found a platform with an air vent and several spheres around it. "There seems to be an air vent in that platform. Turn on the air to help you up," Palutena instructed. "To get a current started, move the spheres to the correct place." Pit did so and knocked down the first sphere. "Good job. There's a weak breeze now," said Palutena. Then Pit knocked down the next sphere. "The air current is stronger. Use it to carry you up," said Palutena. But Pit decided to look around and sure enough, he found another sphere and knocked it down. "That's as strong as the air current is going to get. Hmmm..." Palutena wondered. Pit then used the air vent and hopped on the highest level. "Neat! I can go higher depending on the strength of the air current!" he exclaimed. "Brains AND brawn," said Phosphora, impressed. "He's the whole package!" Pit then took down more enemies, even a Clobbler, and continued on his way. He then entered a room that has moving beams of electricity. "Pay attention to the movement of those electric currents," said Palutena. "I think it's probably fine to touch them," Phosphora lied. "Seriously, they're perfectly safe." Pit made sure to be careful with those electric currents and took down more enemies. Once he did so, they were gone. He then continued onwards. He took down another generator to continue moving forward. "You can hop on in! I set up a Grind Rail for you to use," said Palutena. Pit then hopped onto the Grind Rail. "Wow wow wooooow!" he exclaimed. "Grind Rails, huh? Well, la di da!" said Phosphora. "Wish we had the budget for Grind Rails..." Devil Pit is still disgusted about Phosphora's personality. "Why can't idiots take their fighting more seriously?" he asked. "And hearing Phosphora talk like that makes me sick. I don't if it's either her or Viridi who's the worst enemy of mine." He continued onwards. Pit then hopped off the Grind Rail to a long hallway that's outside the temple. "This way goes to the center of the temple," said Palutena. "Watch out, though—the route looks pretty treacherous." Pit continued onwards an made sure to be careful when he continued on his way and took down more enemies so that he doesn't get taken down with harm. He then hopped on a Jump Pad and is now closer to Phosphora. "Phosphora is just ahead," said Palutena. "Here so soon?" asked Phosphora. But before Pit could face the said Lightning Nymph, he found another Zodiac Chamber that is blocked by an electric fence. He dashed through it avoid getting paralyzed. He then entered the chamber and collected the Libra Sponge power up. He then exited the Zodiac Chamber and dashed out of the electric fence again. He then drank another Drink of the Gods and proceeded though the door.

There Pit found Phosphora who was waiting for him while levitating. She then activated her powers to get ready for the fight. "Hello there!" she greeted. "Attention, pet of Viridi! You'd better sharpen your claws!" said Pit while posing, like what he did to Pandora back in the day. "I am the servant of Palutena, Goddess of Light, and—" Until he was interrupted by Phosphora shooting lightning bolts at him. "Ow OWWW!" he yelped while avoiding them. "Enough blabbity blab," said Phosphora. "Now let's get to the main act!" Devil Pit also arrived just in time to see the fight and he took out his "Special Weapon." "They do not know that I am here," he said. "Once Phosphora loses the fight, I'll plan out my surprise ambush on her and KILL HER!" He finished after blinking his eyes and they turned black with blood pouring out of his sockets. The battle between the light angel and the Lightning Nymph has begun. "Don't run straight at her," Palutena warned. "Keep your distance, and wait till she's not moving." "My skin feels all tingly!" Pit exclaimed as he indeed felt something in his skin. "The air in here is electrified," Phosphora explained. "It's good for the complexion, doncha know?" The two of them square off with Phosphora sending out electrical attacks and Pit trying to avoid them and then counterattack. Devil Pit is amazed with the fight. "I guess Phosphora's skills aren't as rusty as I thought," he said. "But she'll be very surprised to see my 'Special Weapon.'" Even Viridi and Hades are watching the fight. "Just look at them go!" said Viridi. "And I thought the fighting outside was exciting!" said Hades, intrigued. "But it looks like the real action is in here!" said Hades. "Pit doesn't stand a chance!" Viridi scoffed. "Glad you're enjoying the show, oh divine peanut gallery," said Palutena. "I, for one, am honored to have you all in the audience," said Phosphora. "Who's the yes-man now?" Pit taunted. "Kissing up to management won't help you, Phosphora!" The battle still continued on and Devil Pit is still waiting for the opening. "Not one of them are down just yet," he said. "I wonder who will be the last one standing?" Palutena decided to help Pit out in the fight. "Some of Phosphora's attacks can have a numbing effect," she explained. "Which isn't a problem when you can dash like I can!" said Pit. "Just move around to recover from numbness faster," said Palutena. "If you really think she can take a number on you, there's no way either of you can take a number on me when I have this," he said and looked at his weapon. Suddenly, Phosphora decided to use nearby electric lamp posts to gain energy. "Watch out when you see Phosphora stop to gather energy," Palutena warned. "Once she has enough, she'll fire shots at the posts that ricochet towards you." Devil Pit smiled sinisterly at the whole action still going on. "I don't even know who to root," he said. "The angel enemy or the past enemy?" But it didn't take very long for Pit to take Phosphora down, as long as he avoided her attacks a long that is, including her most powerful one after gaining energy. After that, Phosphora was down. "Did you see THAT thunder?!" Pit taunted in victory. "No. 'Cause you CAN'T SEE thunder!" Phosphora replied in defeat. It was until then, Phosphora dropped down to one knee. "I take back what I said before. You're not cute at all!" she exclaimed. But suddenly, she got back up slowly. "But I'm not going down just yet." "Huh?" Pit wondered. "What you did not know is that I've prepared a special attack just for you!" replied the Lightning Nymph. She then unleashed a giant powerful electric ball from her hands. "What the?" Pit exclaimed. "Now Phosphora! Take down that angel into pulp!" said Viridi. "With pleasure, Mistress Viridi!" said Phosphora. "Pit! You need to dodge it quickly!" Palutena ordered. "Now's my chance!" said Devil Pit. He then charged at Phosphora with his weapon and jumped to slash at her. Pit noticed him quickly and thought fast by yelling out, "PHOSPHORA! LOOK OUT!" He quickly rushed to Phosphora and pushed her out of Devil Pit's line of attack, causing her to stop her attack. Devil Pit slammed his sword down causing a shockwave that pushed Pit and Phosphora and nearly off the arena. "Oh no! Pit!" exclaimed Palutena. "Phosphora!" exclaimed Viridi. Pit and Phosphora slowly got back up in pain. "Ooohhhhhh..." they groaned. "Ph-Phosphora, are you OK?" Pit asked. "Y-Yeah. Never better," Phosphora replied. "But, why did you save me?" "I believe that's because HE'S here," said Hades. "You got that right, Hades," replied Devil Pit as he slowly walked up to Pit and Phosphora.

Pit and Phosphora looked up in horror to see Devil Pit back again. "You're such an idiot," he told Pit. "You should've let her die instead of saving her." Pit then got back up to his feet and was furious. "YOU CAN'T DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" he yelled. "HOW COULD YOU DO SUCH A THING TO HER?!" "Because you both deserve to die after you humiliated me back at that storm," Devil Pit replied. "WE ONLY WANTED TO STOP YOU FROM CAUSING MORE TROUBLE AROUND HERE! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT WE'VE BEEN THROUGH WHEN YOU CAME AROUND?!" Pit shouted. Everyone, including Devil Pit, were taken aback from Pit's rage. "My my... I never seen this side of you before," the Devil responded. "It's unusual for someone like you to stand up against me like that." Whoa... Palutena thought in shock. Oh my god... Viridi thought in shock as well. I never knew Pitty Pat could act so tough, Hades thought, surprised. "Yeah? Well who's the monster around here? You or me?" asked the angered angel. "How about you don't hurt any of us and get lost!" "Pit..." Phosphora started, but was in shock to say anything else. "How about no?" Devil Pit replied. "I'm not going to let this chance slip away. I'd say it's time for payback. And since I'm here, allow me to show you my 'Special Weapon.'" He then revealed a very scary, bloody red sword. "What is THAT?!" Pit asked in shock. "Wait...is that...!" Phosphora started. "Yes, Phosphora," said Devil Pit. "This was the same weapon that was used in your execution long ago. The Sword of Death!" Everyone gasped. "Phosphora...was EXECUTED?!" exclaimed the angel. "DID YOU DO THIS TO HER?!" "Actually, I didn't. It was a human that did that to her long ago," Devil Pit responded. "But before we get to that, how about I kill you both right here and now before you can figure it out." "We'll see about that, Devil Pit!" said the angel. He then pulled out his hand for Phosphora. "Come on, Phosphora! Let's take down this monster together." Phosphora smiled and took Pit's hand and she got back up to her feet. "With the two of us fighting together, we'll both take you down!" she said and she and the angel looked at their enemy. "Time for you to be finished again!" "We'll see who gets the last laugh in our rematch, fools!" said Devil Pit and all three of them prepared themselves to begin the battle.

Devil Pit charged at both Pit and Phosphora and slashed at them with his sword. They swiftly separated to make things difficult for him. "If we defeated you in the air, we'll defeat you right here!" exclaimed Phosphora. "Bah! Don't even think about winning again this time," said Devil Pit. "DODGE THIS!" He then slashed at Pit with his sword with a big strike. It caused big damage to Pit and he began to bleed. "Argh!" he yelped. "I feel that my life is starting to drain away." "Did you get inflicted with Poison or Burn?" asked Palutena. "I-I don't think this is either of those," Pit replied. "You're inflicted with Bleed," said Devil Pit. "It makes you take additional damage over time which is much slower than Poison and Burn. You also walk a lot slower and your defense is lowered." "I feel like I'm dizzy and can't...get up that much," Pit said, wobbly. "Don't worry," said Palutena. "I'll use my powers to treat your wounds. But it will only take a while, so try dodging his attacks while I'm at it." "O-Okay," Pit affirmed. Devil Pit then continued to fight against the both of them and tried to attack Pit again since he's weak. But Phosphora managed to fend him off long enough for Palutena to heal Pit's wounds completely. "There! Your wounds are perfectly healed now," she said. "Thanks, Lady Palutena!" Pit thanked. "Now time to continue with the fight!" He and Phosphora continued to fight against Devil Pit. Phosphora then used her attacks to bring out strong electric damage to her foe. This also caused him to be paralyzed. "Damn it!" he yelled. "I can't move properly!" "That's paralysis for you, buddy," said Phosphora. "Deal with it." "As if I would let that get in my way!" Devil Pit scowled. "TAKE THIS!" he then charged at Phosphora with a special attack and slashed, only for Phosphora to move out of the way quickly. "Whoa!" she gasped. "What attack was that?" asked Palutena. "That was Death," said Hades. "Legends say that this special attack can kill anybody instantly when it hits. It packs quite a punch." "Easy enough for you to say!" exclaimed Viridi. "The thing is though it only has a low chance to do that," said Devil Pit. "Consider yourself lucky if you survived or dodged that attack." The three of them continued to attack in their battle and the gods are impressed by their battle. Then Palutena decided to ask Viridi a question. "I've been thinking of something, Viridi," she started. "What is it, Palutena?" Viridi asked. "Don't you have a feeling that there's something wrong with Devil Pit?" Palutena continued. "Now that you mention it, I do believe that there's something...odd about him," Viridi responded. "Well he IS no joke," Hades continued. "After all, he was the same prisoner that we captured. But now that he escaped, I don't know how to handle this." Soon enough, the duo took down Devil Pit and he was defeated. "Did you see sparks during THAT fight, Devil Pit?" Phosphora taunted in victory. "Yes..." Devil Pit responded in defeat.

Devil Pit tumbled through the arena and got down on his knees. "I didn't expect to lose by the likes of you again!" he exclaimed. "Now wait just a minute!" said Pit. "YOU said that Phosphora was executed long ago! Tell us what happened!" "Actually, it would be a lot better if the Lightning Nymph herself tell you about it," Devil Pit replied. "I believe she would have better answers than I do. Isn't that correct?" Phosphora began with a sigh, "Yes. I remember that sword. Someone by the name of Emperor Nero executed me with that weapon after I accidentally killed his wife. But that wasn't the beginning of it!" "Oh?" said Devil Pit. "Why is that?" "Because YOU were the one responsible for sending me to the Overworld after you defeated me a long time ago!" Phosphora exclaimed. "What?!" Pit, Palutena, Viridi, and even Hades exclaimed simultaneously. "How about you explain your entire story?" Devil Pit suggested. "I think it would be wise to tell him the truth about it." "Okay." said Phosphora. "Pit, this is something I need to tell you. Mistress Viridi knows about this so listen very carefully." "I'm listening..." said Pit. A flashback began when Phosphora told Pit her story.

Phosphora's POV

Begin flashback

I was taken by Nero's army and people around the place threw food, rocks, and other painful things at me because of what I did. I kept telling them it was only an accident, but they didn't listen to me. "You deserve it, murderer!" they yelled at me. "I can't believe you committed a monstrous crime! You don't deserve to live after what you've done! Go die as a rotten corpse you monster!" They continued to throw those objects at me. Until the emperor's men took me to the doors of the emperor's castle. They soon opened the doors and took me inside.

They then took me to the emperor himself where he was really mad at me for what I did. Not only that, but I also saw Devil Pit standing next to him. I kept telling him it was and accident, but nobody, even him, didn't even listen to me. They hurt me and ruined me. "E-Emperor?!" I started. "L-Listen I-" "SILENCE!" Nero yelled. "Don't you dare talk to me after what you did to my wife Regina!" "B-But it was an-" I started again. "SHUT UP! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO ME!" Nero yelled again. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID SUCH A HORRENDOUS CRIME TO MY WIFE! SHE WAS INNOCENT AND YOU KILLED HER!" "B-But Emperor- I-I didn't know what would happened to her..." I continued. "I was out of control and-" "I suggest you take her into her prison," Devil Pit told Nero. "She deserves what she did to your wife, and now show her justice to avenge her." "Since you won't listen to me, I'll have to take you in myself," Nero said. He got up and walked up to me, then he stabbed me multiple times with his sword. I was in so much pain and then I blacked out...

I slowly woke up and I realized that I was shackled. Emperor Nero and his men chained me up and I couldn't do anything. "P-Please!" I cried. "I'll change my ways! I swear!" "It's too late for that now!" Nero yelled. "You deserve this and now it's time to avenge my wife!" He then walked up closer to me and took out that sword. "For your crimes against all of humanity, I hereby sentenced you to death by the slash of the Sword of Death! Enjoy your final times here Phosphora!" "No, WAIT! STOP!" I tried to call but it was too late. I was slashed through my abdomen by Nero's sword and I died. He then dropped the sword and left my corpse to rot. The only thing I noticed was Devil Pit staring at my rotten corpse. He then looked at me with a sinister smile, black eyes, and bloody sockets.

I then felt Devil Pit taking my corpse away from the castle after unlocking the shackles. He took me to a tree where I was soon buried there. But that was not what he did to me. He instead called out something, "Dinner's on, boys!" Turns out he called some crows and they devoured my corpse whole. He was standing at my corpse that was being chomped down by those crows and it hurt so much. He then had his eyes black again, blood poured form his sockets, and laughed his sinster laugh while smiling.

I was then taken to the skies and I saw Mistress Viridi for the first time. I told her everything about what happened to me and what the humans did. "They tortured me and told me to never live on anymore!" I cried in tears. "They hated me for what I did! It was an accident! I swear!" "Why would those humans do such a horrible thing to you?!" Nistress Viridi yelled. "I can't believe they did that to you! You don't deserve any of that!" "I highly agree with Mistress Viridi," Arlon agreed. "I never thought humans would do such a bad thing to you. That's terrible." "I know..." I said between sniffs. "I don't know what to do now anymore." "Well, how about you join the Forces of Nature?" Mistress Viridi offered me. "You can use your powers to help us wipe out humanity together. You shall be one of our commanders." She reached out a hand to pull me up. I took it and accepted the offer. "I will be glad to give those humans a taste of their own medicine," I said. "Excellent," she replied. Then I realized that a vine appeared around my left leg and my upper left arm. "This shows a mark of you with us," Mistress Viridi explained. "From now on, you can call me, Mistress Viridi." "I will do anything for you, Mistress Viridi," I replied and happily hugged her which she returned. "Welcome to the Forces of Nature, Phosphora," she said and Arlon smiled.

Pit was shocked to hear all of that. "D-Did that really happen?!" he asked in shock. "Y-Yes..." Phosphora replied. "I-I didn't mean to kill Nero's wife! I was just out of control and I couldn't do anything!" She bursted into tears and fell to her knees. Pit then went down to Phosphora and gently hugged her. "Shh..." he whispered, softly. "Let it all out. That was all in the past, and now you're here with us. We're here to help you." "Pit's right," Palutena agreed. "I'll be honest, I never knew a human would do something like that. I guess Viridi was right about...one thing..." "Yeah..." said Viridi. "That memory still haunts me to this day." "Hmm..." Hades thought for a moment. "Hey, Phosphora?" said Pit. "Yeah?" Phosphora responded. "Since you told us about your past, and you said that's not the full story, how about you tell us about what happened before all of that?" "Okay. But first, I need to ask you something," Phosphora responded. "And that is?" asked Pit. "Remember I told you that I don't live here?" Phosphora asked the angel. "Yes. Why?" Pit responded. "Well...I lied," Phosphora continued. "Turns out I did live here with my family." "Would you like to tell me more about your family?" Pit asked. "It's okay if you don't want to." "Sure, I'll tell you about it," said Phosphora. Another flashback began for her next story.

Phosphora's POV

I was the daughter of Zeus, the God of Thunder and my father. I also had a brother named Hercules. We both lived in harmony in the Thunder Cloud Temple. This was the same temple we lived together until I was the only one left here. My father taught us the ways to master the electric element in case of attacks of our territory. My brother was then sent to another place, because he had something to take care of something, while I stayed here with my father. Unfortunately, we didn't live peacefully that much. We heard the news about what happened to my brother. Apparently he was sent to the Overworld by Devil Pit and he was coming after us. I prepared myself to fight against my enemy and tried to take him down. But he was too powerful to handle and I lost the fight. I was then sent to the Overworld by him while he continued on to fight my father. And...you already know what happened after that.

"That's terrible!" Pit exclaimed in shock after hearing Phosphora's next story. "I also lied," Palutena confessed. "This temple was actually abandoned ever since Zeus' death." Pit then looked at Devil Pit with a heated stare. "LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO THIS POOR INNOCENT GIRL!" he yelled, angrily. "SHE LOST HER FAMILY BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOU RUINED HER LIFE!" "I didn't do anything to her," said Devil Pit. "I only wanted to test those humans about their social behavior, and that 'Emperor Nero' failed his test." "But how?" Pit asked. "What happened to him?" "That's not important right now," said Devil Pit. "If you really want more answers, then take this with you." He tossed Pit something which the said light angel caught. "Another tape?" he wondered. "Maybe this one might answer your questions," responded the Devil. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must take my leave. I have other business to attend to." "You can't walk away just like that!" Pit yelled. "YOU ALREADY DID SOMETHING TERRIBLE TO NOT ONLY ARLON, BUT ALSO PHOSPHORA! YOU HAVE TO STOP!" "Stop? Oh nonononono..." Devil Pit responded. "I'm just getting the big party started. But before I go, I have a surprise just for you." He pulled out a remote. "How did you even set up bombs in here earlier?" Pit asked. "That's because I was in the Thunder Cloud Temple after you defeated me the first time," Devil Pit explained. "And now it is time for you to meet your demise." He then pushed the button on the remote. "WARNING! BOMBS HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED!" said the system. "THE BOMBS WILL EXPLODE IN: 10 MINUTES." "Hasta la vista, fools," Devil Pit taunted as he flew away. The temple soon began to shake and crumbling down. "This place is going back to the dogs thanks to Devil Pit's explosives," said Hades. "Smarm it up while you still can, Hades," Palutena warned. "We'll be after YOU soon enough." "Pit...?" said Phosphora. "Yes, Phosphora?" Pit responded. "I want to thank you for helping me go throught my past, and I was hoping if I could join you in defeating the monster who ruined my life," Phosphora continued. "You're welcome, Phosphora, and of course you can help us out," Pit replied. "We need as much firepower as we can muster. Now then, let's get out of here before the place collapses." "Right..." Phosphora agreed. "I'll see you another time." She was then extracted away by Viridi quickly. "Thanks for comforting Phosphora, Pit," she thanked. "She really needed that after all she's been through." "You're welcome, Viridi," Pit responded. "Now then, time to leave!" He then began to run away from the temple as fast as he could.

Pit hurried along the path as fast as he could, while avoiding falling obstacles and open cracks in order not to fall off. "Be careful, Pit!" Palutena warned. "One fall off of those cracks and it's game over! But get out of there quickly before the bombs go off!" "I'm going as fast as I can!" Pit replied. "You know, I didn't actually think that my prisoner could use something big like bombs to blow up these places," said Hades. "It's something I never thought to do myself." "Your remarks are not helping, Hades!" Pit yelled. He then continued onwards quickly, then he found something. "Huh? What's this?" he wondered. He then picked up the object. "It must be the next piece of the Daybreak," said Palutena. "But hurry! You don't have much time!" "THE BOMBS WILL EXPLODE IN: 5 MINUTES." said the system. "You're right!" Pit exclaimed. "I better hurry!" He then quickly used a Grind Rail to get back to the first floor. He then hurried along while avoiding more falling obstacles. "THE BOMBS WILL EXPLOED IN: 1 MINUTE." said the system. "Hurry! You're running out of time!" Palutena warned. "I'm almost there!" said Pit. He then saw the exit. "I'm getting out of there right now!" he exclaimed. "I see you!" said Palutena. "I'm pulling you out of the temple now!" She then whisked Pit back to safety before... "5...4...3...2...1..." the system counted down and the bombs exploded. The Thunder Cloud Temple crumbled into pieces and was fully destroyed. "Well that was a bit of a letdown," said Hades. "But at least we know that it's one step ahead of our prisoner's plan." He then head back to the Underworld to think of something.

Pit arrived back into the temple safe and sound. "Whew! I made it out in once piece..." he sighed in relief. "I'm also glad that we convinced Phosphora to join us...after we listened to her backstory like Arlon did." "Yeah. I never believed the humans would do something like that to her," Palutena agreed. "I guess Viridi was right about one thing. But I'm still unsure if we can continue to fight against Viridi." "Well, she did thank me for comforting Phosphora after she told me her dark backstory," said Pit. "True, but I'm still not sure," Palutena replied. "Well one thing's for certain. Let's listen to this next tape Devil Pit gave me earlier," Pit suggested. "Okay, Pit," Palutena replied. They then brought everyone again to listen to the next tape. Pit placed the tape marked "Discovered Humans and Demons" into the tape player and pressed PLAY.

"I've discovered something very intriguing to say the least," said the sinister voice. "It would appear that I wasn't the only one committing a massacre, just like what I did to Gaia and Zeus, as well as his two children. I found out that there were lots of humans slaughtered by unknown demons that were working for the Underworld. Once they came back to the Underworld, they were not pleased for their actions. I'm guessing that these demons don't share the same purpose as the Underworld. If that's true, then maybe they could be helpful for my master plan. And then... "This is starting to become serious," said Pit. "And Phosphora was telling the truth about what happened to her family. But...it's still hard to tell if it's Devil Pit or somebody else." "I agree," agreed Palutena. "We better prepare ourselves for the outcome of his attacks. We should also prepare ourselves of Hades as well in case he has a surprise attack or something." "You're right!" Pit affirmed. "Let's get ourselves ready, and hopefully we can take down both of our enemies, Hades and Devil Pit. I don't think we should attack Viridi, because I believe she's starting to understand the situation." "I think so," Palutena agreed. "Let's get to our rooms and then prepare ourselves." They all went back into their rooms to prepare themselves for whatever's coming next.

Devil Pit returned to the creature and explained something to him. "The next step for our master plan is complete," he said. "Now all I have to do is to create a distraction while you head out to the Overworld and kill the mortals there. After that, collect their souls to begin the final phase of the plan." The creature nodded and Devil Pit left for a moment. He then put his right finger on his head and said, "Okay, minions. You're in the clear for destruction." He then turned to face the creature. "I sent out the others to begin the distraction while you go and do your thing," he explained. "Now go! They will arrive shortly and once you're done, return to me to begin the next step. This is only Step 3 of the plan." The creature nodded and left to begin its massacre. "Excellent. Everything is all according to plan," he said as he smiled, sinisterly. "Now then, time to head over to my territory to begin the distraction." He then flew up into space to begin the next step.

Now, for those of you who are wondering about Phosphora's backstory, I got the idea about it from a collaboration origin story made by ImmaPegacornz and Angel of Nerdiness, and I decided to change it up a bit to make more sense. Go check out their accounts, as well as their DeviantArt accounts (LittleHomeofMacarons and AngelofNerdiness), to see what they have in store for you. Also, apologies if the story was uncomfortable to read. Well, we're getting closer to what may be the reveal of Devil Pit's new minions. And in case if you're wondering about "Zeus," I believe that the Zeus we know from the original Kid Icarus was like that after his apparent death. That's all I'll explain for now. You'll figure out the rest later. Stay tuned for chapter fifteen to see what twists and turns this story will take, review, and have a great day!
