And let's get the party going with chapter sixteen. Now if you're wonder about the "squad" that is on the DLC chapter title, read along to find out. But let's just say that they are the "creations" Devil Pit was working on last time. But anyways, you already know the disclaimer, so enjoy!

Chapter 16: The Aurum Hive + DLC: The Aurum Pit Squad

Music playing: The Aurum Hive

Pit rushed to the door with the Twinbellows Cannon equipped. "Heading out!" he said. Until he was pulled into space forcefully. "Whoa-oa!" he cried upon impacting the vacuum of space. "The Aurum have been weakened, but not defeated," said Palutena. "We need to destroy their fleet next." "Understood!" Pit affirmed. "That fleet's going down!" He then flew onwards towards the battleships. Devil Pit was watching him. "I see that you're about to target my fleet next," he said. "Let's see how well you can take them down." Pit then approached closer to the ships. "Take out those green targets, Pit!" Palutena ordered. Pit did so and took down their weak points to destroy them. "Not bad," said Devil Pit. "But there are plenty more where those came from. Let's see how tough you are." Pit then continued onwards and took down more and more Aurum enemies sent by their clan patriarch leader. "There are so many different ships!" he exclaimed upon seeing more of them. "Well, yes. There are battleships, cruisers, destroyers, kayaks..." Palutena replied. "Well this IS my fleet," said Devil Pit. "I have LOADS of battleships when it comes to the Aurum Army of the Dark Allies." "No, I mean the AURUM have lots of ships. I doubt they have any kayaks," said Pit. "Well obviously not," replied Devil Pit. "Kayaks are on the ocean, not in space." "There ARE a lot of them," said Palutena. "It might be best to get you out of there." "Now why would you want to do that?" asked the Underworld ruler. "Where you pinheads see adversity, I see opportunity!" "Hades!" exclaimed Pit. "Oh no! Not you again!" groaned Devil Pit. "What are you up to this time?" "Allow me to tell you," Hades explained. "For example, this battleship looks like it could use a good home. Now's your chance, minions! It's lootin' time!" He then sent a hoard of Monoeyes to swarm on an Aurum Battleship. "HEY!" shouted Devil Pit. "This is MY territory! Get your minions out of MY ships!" "The Underworld certainly is enthusiastic when it comes to thieving," said Palutena. "God damnit, Hades!" Devil Pit yelled. "You're lucky that my ships lack the security measures because they're busy dealing with this angel here. But the next time you do something to my territory, I'll have to exterminate your minions!" "That's funny coming from someone like you," Hades remarked. "Grr!" Devil Pit growled. Pit continued onwards after watching the Underworld swarming one of the ships. "Up ahead is where the battleships are being hatched," Palutena continued. "Hatched? Don't you mean...built?" Pit corrected. "I was about to say that thank you very much," said Devil Pit. "The Aurum are commonly known to be like machines, so there's a reason for that." "Sorry. I keep thinking of the Aurum as a bee colony," Palutena apologized. "Well you better stop," Devil Pit replied. "And if their smaller troops are drones, their ships are killer bees," Palutena continued. "I said stop thinking about my army as bees!" Devil Pit shouted in annoyance. "If we want to take down their fleet, we need to target the source of the problem," Palutena continued. "Ugh, I just hope there's no Aurum queen..." Pit groaned. "Actually, lucky for you, there isn't because I'm not a married man," Devil Pit replied. "But I do have special creations waiting for you when you arrive." Pit then continued onwards and took down more Aurum enemies, while the Underworld Army fought and took them down, too. Then Pit noticed some green like-enemies raining down at him. "Those meteors are kind of pretty," he said. "Actually, those are also Aurum troops," Palutena replied. "According to my Celestial Super Scanner, they're 'Rozzes.'" "Your...Celestial Super Scanner?" Pit questioned before having a theory. "Oh, I get it. That's how you know the names of enemies." "Well, you can't actually pronounce Aurum names, so I took a few creative liberties," Palutena replied. "The Rozzes are made to charge at you at high speeds," Devil Pit explained. "Consider yourself lucky if you managed to dodge them. They can't be defeated because of their armor." "I guess that makes sense," said Pit. Just then, everyone noticed something about the Aurum troops. They appeared to be copies of the Monoeyes and Miks. "Hey! Am I the only one paying attention here? Look!" Viridi exclaimed "Those Aurum 'troops' are just rip-offs of Underworld enemies!" "What?!" Pit exclaimed. "That's because we took the data of them to create the copies," said Devil Pit. "Makes you want to see something spectacular, eh?" "I gotta hand it to them. Those are some pretty decent knockoffs," said Hades. "I highly thank you for the compliment," Devil Pit thanked. "Although it is still funny coming from an enemy of mine." "First they devour planets; now they're copying enemies? Ugh. Lowlifes!" Viridi scoffed. "So maybe the Treasure Boxes and Exo Tanks were also copies," Palutena suspected. "Can't say for sure," said Viridi, confused. "You're right about one thing, Palutena," said Devil Pit. "I did make copies of the Exo Tanks out of its exact data. But I still don't remember making Mimicutie copies." "Full disclosure here: the Mimicuties were courtesy of yours truly," Hades confessed. "WHAT?!" Devil Pit shouted in shock. "It WAS you!" Pit yelled as well. "What—don't you like presents, Pitty Pat?" Hades remarked. "I can't believe you would stoop so low into sending Mimicuties to my territory, Hades!" exclaimed Devil Pit while facepalming. "The next time you do something like that, you WILL be executed!" Pit then continued to take down more Aurum enemies and was near a floating base. " We're nearing a floating island," said Palutena. "You can hide from the Aurum fleet by taking a lower route." "It's not going to be easy for you, because I set up some electrifying surprises for you," said Devil Pit. "Are you trying to copy Phosphora?!" Viridi questioned. "Not really," Devil Pit replied. "We just use electronic technology to slow down our intruders." Pit flew underneath the surface and recieved four more Recovery Orbs to replenish his heath. He then took down more Aurum Underworld copies and avoided the electric areas. Then there was trouble. "Uh-oh!" Palutena gasped. "Where do you think you're going, flightless angel?" said Devil Pit. "You may have avoided my traps, but you cannot escape THIS!" "They've sent a destroyer in!" Palutena warned. "They're destroying themselves to get to you!" "I have to hand it to the Aurum," said Viridi. "They don't fool around." "That's because we're no joke! We sacrifice ourselves to stop anybody from standing in our way!" Devil Pit replied. Then Viridi noticed something about the ships. "None of these battleships seem to have a helm," she said. "And I'm not detecting any life-forms in the ships either," said Palutena. "Something HAS to be controlling them," Viridi suspected. "Have you ever heard of 'Mechanical Manipulation?'" said Devil Pit. "I'm well aware with technology, and I can use this power to control the machines. Meaning that the battleships have their own brains and can attack anybody they detect." Then Hades said in a robotic silly voice, "Weeee aarrrre from outerr spaaaaaace..." Palutena wasn't amused by saying sarcastically, "Yes, yes, you're hilarious." Pit continued to take down more Aurum troops and battleships by destroying the weak points. "It seems like awfully poor design for these ships to have their weak spots exposed," he said. "Or you can just thank me for the user-friendly interface," Palutena repsonded. "Are you saying that you exposed the ships' weak spots?!" Pit exclaimed in shock. "WHAT?!" Devil Pit yelled in the same feeling. "I attached large markers to the ships' exteriors that connect to their engines," the Goddess of Light explained. "In less technical terms, I used my power of weak-point exposure!" "Hey, thanks!" Pit thanked. "Anything to help you take down the Aurum fleet!" Palutena responded. "Curse you, Palutena!" Devil Pit grumbled. Pit took down the last remaining ships and Aurum enemies and was nearing the entrance of the base. "We've arrived at the Aurum Hive," said Palutena. "There's just one problem." "What is it?" Pit asked. "There doesn't seem to be any way in," Palutena replied. "Really? There's not a single entry?" Pit gasped. "It doesn't look like it," Palutena responded. "And we can't just bust in?" Pit asked again. "We can't," said Palutena. "There's a shield to protect the ships on their way out," Viridi explained. "I set it up so that NO ONE can enter except me and my minions," said Devil Pit. "I guess this is the end for all of you. Turn back now if you want to value your remaining afterlives." "But...you ALWAYS find a way in, Lady Palutena!" exclaimed Pit. "So now what? We just go home and order a pizza?" (A/N: That's actually pretty funny, because I'm sure ANYBODY, even me, loves pizza a lot!) "I DO have a coupon..." said Palutena. "Ha ha. Very funny," Devil Pit groaned while facepalming. "You two have more pedestrian tastes than I expected," said Viridi. "Don't curse the darkness—light a candle!" said Hades. "When freaky aliens give you lemons, make freaky alien lemonade! Like this!" He then crashed the same looted Aurum Battleship into the shield. "Wait WHAT?! HEY!" yelled Devil Pit. "Wah!" Pit cried upon moving out of the way. "Well, that's one way to do it." "That. Was. Awesome," Viridi gasped in amazement. "You son of a bitch! That was MY ship you recently looted!" Devil Pit yelled in anger. "Now just pass through the ship to enter the Aurum Hive," said Palutena. "It's like a straw stuck in an orange," said Viridi, still amazed. "Grr! Will you shut it with your 'Nature Talk?'" growled Devil Pit in disgust. "You know I hate it!" "Well it comes from the Goddess of Nature," Pit replied as he flew into the battleship's interior. "Now then... Commencing Operation Hive Infiltration!" Upon entering the ship, the interior was engulfed in flames. "Hot hot hot hot hot hot HOT!" Pit yelled in pain as he flew into the base.

Music stops and switches to: In the Aurum Hive

Pit then landed into the Aurum Hive and ate the food. "Now that we're in the Aurum Hive, we're one step close to stopping their fleet," he said after he finished his meal. "Right. So the next step is to shut down the hive's power generator," said Palutena. Pit then moved onwards to stop the Aurum. However, he didn't notice a security camera waiting for him to arrive. Once he entered a room, the camera spotted him and this triggered the alarm. "Uh oh." Pit gasped as he was ambushed by Aurum enemies. "INTRUDER ALERT! ENGAGING DEFENSIVE MEASURES!" stated the system. "You must have set off an alarm," said Palutena. "Maybe you tripped their smell sensors," said Viridi. "Though the Aurum probably use more high-tech ways of detecting intruders. Like...a brain-wave scanner or something." "No, it was probably his smell," said Palutena. "Actually, I set up high-tech security cameras in case intruders intended to break into my territory without me noticing," Devil Pit explained. "The only way to avoid them is to destroy the cameras. But once you get caught three times, the system will then release noxious fumes and you will die." "Then I must destroy all the cameras in order not to get spotted," said Pit. "And I don't want to cough to death by noxious fumes. Sounds really toxic." Pit then faced against the Aurum enemies, which were both copied from the Underworld and Forces of Nature by using their data and their own minions, and took them down. He also destroyed the camera he was spotted by earlier and continued onwards. "The ship the Underworld Army hijacked was really in rough shape," said Palutena. "Well, yeah. They DID crash it straight into the hive. But on the bright side..." Viridi began. "In doing so, they lost some of their own troops AND took out some Aurum forces." "I AM thankful for that bit of good news," said Palutena. "Um, you're welcome?" Hades replied, confused. "Truth be told, troops will do ANYTHING for their leaders since they follow orders," said Devil Pit. "And such measures require sacrifice." "Well I can't argue about that one," said Hades. "Us neither," the goddess agreed simultaneously. Pit continued onwards and took down more Aurum enemies and security cameras along the way. He then entered a room with Jump Pads and electric charged floors. "The power generator is somewhere deep inside the Aurum Hive," said Palutena. "I'm against this place. It's so cold and sterile," said Viridi. "Oh, I don't know. It's nothing a lava lamp and a few posters couldn't fix," Pit suggested. "I'll keep that in mind for future use," Devil Pit noted. Pit then took down more enemies and wondered about something. "What are those Shemum copies?" he wondered. "We decided to enhance their data by simply give them the power to paralyze instead of poison. Consider this an act of salvation for a change," said Devil Pit. "I wouldn't exactly call it 'salvation.' It's like you're giving me a challenge," said Pit. "That's the point," Devil Pit responded. He then took them down and their spawn pots and used a Jump Pad to move on. "The path forward isn't very sturdy," Palutena warned. "You'll have to move quickly." "Unless you want to fall back into space," said Devil Pit. "On the other hand, Palutena could easily transport you back to where you left off." Pit then carefully maneuvered his way through the path as fast as he could and made it across. He then took out a security camera and fell through a hole and encountered a new enemy. "What's that enemy with the green dots?" he asked. "It's called a Biota," said Palutena. "You can send its shots back at it with melee attacks." "Although you can still deal damage with your weapon," said Devil Pit. "It's basically a weaker version of the Underworld's Collin and Phil." "I guess some of your troops are not as powerful as mine," said Hades. "Well maybe, but we also created copies that are enhanced versions of YOUR troops. That also includes the Forces of Nature," Devil Pit replied. "Touché..." Viridi responded. Pit took it down and continued onwards and entered a room with rotating fan blades. "What do we have here?" he asked. "They seem to be fans made of lasers," said Viridi. "Hm. Not the most effective method of cooling." "Actually, they help out the Aurum Hive's air supply to keep them moving around without any problems," Devil Pit explained. "Basically, when the air keeps moving around, so do my minions." "But they're a pretty effective method of hurting," said Pit. "Specifically, hurting me." "Good thing you're so quick and nimble!" said Palutena. "Seriously?" groaned Devil Pit while facepalming. Pit continued onwards and took down more enemies and security cameras. Then he felt rumbling from the next room. "Do you feel a rumble?" he asked. "It's coming from a behemoth of a vehicle!" said Palutena. "It looks like it runs on a loop." "As a disclaimer, your insurance doesn't cover getting run over by alien trains," said Viridi. "Outer space IS a bit out of the coverage area," said Palutena. "We never even HAVE any roads around here in my territory," said Devil Pit. "We can go wherever we want and spot different intruders." "He does have a point there," Pit agreed. He then managed to get through the behemoth vehicle and avoided getting spotted by cameras. He took them out in order to not see him and proceeded onwards. He entered an elevator and found a Hot Spring. "Pit! There's a Hot Spring!" said Palutena. "Hold on. This is an Aurum hot spring. You don't know if it's dangerous," said Viridi. "Dangerous? Come on now. I've spent this entire fanfic story getting shot at," Pit complained. "Plus, if Aurum hot springs are so deadly, why didn't you warn me in the last chapter?" "Because that's Palutena's job, not mine," Viridi replied. "That's actually another one of my personal Hot Springs I set up for relaxing after my duties," Devil Pit explained. "Also..." Suddenly, fire burst from the walls and caught everyone off my surprise. "AH!" they yelled. "HOW DARE YOU BREAK THE FOURTH WALL WHEN I'M AROUND THE PREMISE?!" Devil Pit shouted, enraged. "Geez! The nerve of him creeps me out!" Pit exclaimed. Also, what is he talking about breaking the fourth wall? he added in thought. "I guess that's why you shouldn't mess with him," Palutena agreed. Pit continued onwards and destroyed another camera. Then he entered a room with a rotating floor and an Aether Ring. "Look, an Aether Ring," said Palutena. "It's probably another cheap Aurum knockoff," Viridi suspected. "It's another vehicle I copied from its data," said Devil Pit. "I don't care! If it works, I'm gonna use it!" said Pit. "I'm an angel! And this is how we get things done!" "No, that's how scavengers get things done," said Viridi. "Are you a buzzard, Pit?" "Now, now, I think we can all agree that Pit's not a buzzard," said Palutena. "Though I have seen him eat some questionable things off the ground..." "Floor ice cream gives you health!" Pit yelped. Devil Pit facepalmed at Pit's idiocy. What kind of angel would even think about THAT? he thought. I swear he's just like him many years ago. Pit used the Aether Ring to take down the Aurum enemies and continued onwards with it. He then entered a hallway with moving block walls. "Careful you don't get squished ahead," Palutena warned. "Unfortunately, that Aether Ring won't protect you from moving walls." "I guess you can say that the vehicle will get smashed to smithereens when that happens," said Devil Pit. "Not funny!" Viridi scoffed. Pit carefully used the Aether Ring to move through the walls and continued onwards. He then entered another room and took down more enemies. "There appears to be a passageway that leads downward," said Palutena. "Good thing you're riding that Aether Ring. It's easier to aim your shots when you're floating down." Pit did so and found another Zodiac Chamber. He hopped out of the Aether Ring, entered the chamber, and collected the Scorpio Staff. After that, he hopped back into the Aether ring and continued onwards. A door opened up and spilled out some hearts. "Yow!" Pit exclaimed in shock. "Are those hearts Aurum copies too?" Viridi questioned. "Well, scavenge away!" said Palutena. "THOSE doors were my personal vaults," said Devil Pit. "Although there are other doors like that one, but don't expect them to be what you're thinking." Pit then opened up more doors to collect their goodies. One of them opened up to reveal Aurum troops. "Hey, you were supposed to be a heart!" Pit exclaimed. "I told you, they're not what you were expecting," said Devil Pit. "I always love to play tricks with my enemies." Pit then continued onwards and is ambushed by more Aurum enemies. "Wow, the Aurum really know how to make a guy feel welcome," he said. "Well at least you still haven't been spotted by my cameras since you're taking them out," said Devil Pit. "Because if you did, there would be more problems for you." "You can avoid damage by using the Aether Ring's shield," said Palutena. "Activate it by pusing the button." Pit did so and used the shield to avoid enemy fire. After that, he took down all of the Aurum enemies. "Fist pump!" he exclaimed in victory. "Not bad. But you're not done just yet," said Devil Pit. "Use that jump pad to move forward," said Palutena. "Take out more security cameras while you're at it." Pit used the Jump Pad and then hopped on the Grind Rail to move onwards. He also realized that he was in a more spacious room. "I can't believe this thing actually fits inside the Aurum Hive," he said. "It is quite expansive," said Palutena. "There's always a lot of room around the Aurum Hive whenever I want to expand my clan," said Devil Pit. Suddenly, multiple Aurum enemies appeared to slow Pit down. "So...many...enemies!" he exclaimed. "Are you having fun yet?" said Devil Pit. "Because you will soon be taken down by my minions." But then, Forces of Nature troops swoop in to take them out. "What the?!" Devil Pit exclaimed. "The Forces of Nature?" Pit questioned. "Don't get the wrong idea, Pit. I'm not here to help you," said Viridi. "It's just in my best interest to keep you alive for now!" (A/N: Okay. Here's the part WHY I ship the angel and Nature Goddess so hard. It's my favorite part of the chapter, with a little DLC content of course.) "Aw... It looks like Little Miss Cactus has a soft spot for Pit," Palutena teased. "I guess I was expecting it when I teased her last time back at the Aurum Islands," said Devil Pit. "Uhhh... Really?" Pit asked. "'Cause I don't think you're all that bad either..." "Shhh! Keep your voice down! People are reading!" Viridi shushed. "I'm definitely NOT doing this to help you, Pit." "Oh, really," Palutena and Devil Pit said simultaneously. "Hmph. Well, I'm not here to help you either, so THERE!" Pit scoffed. "Aaaaauugh! You two are SO ANNOYING!" Viridi groaned. "This is why I kept trying to kill you!" "This is why you kept trying to do what?" Devil Pit asked and then facepalmed. "Oh man! You are CRAZY!" But then, fire burst from the ground. "AND YOU BETTER STOP BREAKING THE FOURTH FUCKING WALL!" he boomed. "YOU KNOW I HATE THAT!" I have no idea what he's even talking about, Viridi thought. Pit then continued onwards and defeated more Aurum enemies with the help of Viridi. "It looks like this will take you to the Aurum Hive's power generator," said Palutena." Destroy the generator to bring down this whole place. But don't forget to take down more security cameras along the way." "Not a problem!" Pit affirmed. He hopped on another Grind Rail and took down more enemies. He also destroyed the last set of security cameras. "Alright! That's the end of the cameras!" he exclaimed. "SYSTEMS SHUTTING DOWN..." stated the system. "It looks like the security system is down," said Devil Pit. "However I have a special surprise for you up ahead." "I'm guessing it's supposed to be a trap," Pit suspected. Pit then hopped of the Grind Rail and was ambushed again by the Aurum forces. I knew it! Pit exclaimed in thought. "It's their last line of defense," said Palutena. "Let's see how well you can survive against my minions," said Devil Pit. "After that, I'll show you something special." "I dedicate this beatdown to the honor of our precious planet!" Pit exclaimed. "And then defeat your entire army along with you, Devil Pit!" "Don't get cocky," Devil Pit replied. Pit soon took down all of the enemies and then drank another Drink of the Gods. "Alright, Pit. Enter through those doors and you'll shut down the Generator!" Palutena ordered. "With pleasure!" Pit affirmed. But before he could enter through the doors, he heard another robotic voice. "INTRUDER DETECTED!" it said. Suddenly, five different Aurum copies of Pit fell down to the platform. Their designs almost look like him, except they have purple wings, a dark blue pin, a green toga, metallic skin and hair, and glowing light blue robot eyes. "What the?" Pit exclaimed in shock. "Are those Aurum copies of ME?!" "While you were busy fighting back at the islands, I was creating these Aurum copies to stop you," said Devil Pit. "They are known as 'The Aurum Pit Squad.' They yield their Aurum Weapons of the squad, the Aurum Blade, the Aurum Bow, the Aurum Palm, the Aurum Club, and the Aurum Orbitars. The one with the Aurum Blade is the captain. These Aurum Leaders shall exterminate you right on the spot." As on queue, Blade Aurum Pit fired a shot at Pit, only for him to avoid it. "Whoa!" he gasped. "TARGET NOT ELIMINATED," said Blade Aurum Pit. "ENEMY OF OUR LORD AND PATRIARCH MUST BE DESTROYED!" The squad then prepared themselves to fight and Pit readied himself to begin the battle.

Music stops and switches to: Wild Arms 3-Crossfire Sequence extended from Aznzodiac (A.K.A. The Aurum Pit Squad's Battle Theme)

The Aurum Pit Squad charged at their enemy and Pit moved out of the way. "TARGET LOCKED ON SIGHT!" said Club Aurum Pit and swung his Aurum Club at Pit from behind him. "Watch out, Pit!" Viridi warned, but it was too late. Pit turned around and was knocked back by Club Aurum Pit's weapon. He crashed right into a wall. "Ouch..." he groaned as he got back up. "Be careful. The Aurum Pit Squad attack in a group of five clones," said Palutena. "I recommend focusing on one clone first before taking down another one." "Huh. It's like they're copying my guards back at the Reset Bomb Depot," said Viridi. "Well Devil Pit said that they are the leaders of the army," said Hades. "Obviously and they are no joke!" said Devil Pit. Pit started to go after Club Aurum Pit first since he attack him first. The other Aurum Pits got into the fight soon enough. "ENEMY SPOTTED! TARGET MUST BE ELIMINATED! ENGAGING BATTLE MODE! EXTERMINATE THE ENEMY OF OUR LORD AND PATRIARCH!" they all said once they joined the fight. "Argh! They're all ganging up on me!" Pit cried. "Focus on one of them first!" said Palutena. "Dodge the other one's attacks and then take down the first target." Pit did so and took down Club Aurum Pit first. "SYSTEM OVERHEATING..." he said and landed on his back, shutting down. "That's one of them!" Pit exclaimed. "Four more to go!" "FIRING SHOTS AT THE TARGET!" said Palm Aurum Pit. He then used his Aurum Palm to fire shots at Pit, but Pit dodge them and then melee combo him from behind until that Aurum Pit was defeated. "SYSTEM FAILURE..." he said and landed on his back, shutting down. "You got three clones left!" said Palutena. "ACTIVATING ADVANCE MEASURES!" said Bow Aurum Pit. He then split his Aurum Bow in two parts and used them to slash at Pit. "Argh!" he cried in pain. "Dash to move away from his attacks and then strike him down!" said Palutena. Pit did so and dodge Bow Aurum Pit's attacks. He then used a charged shot to knock him back and then took him down with a melee combo. "MALFUNCTIONING..." he said in defeat and then landed on his back, shutting down. "That's three. Only two left to go!" said Hades. "ENGAGING CHARGED SHOTS!" said Orbitars Aurum Pit. He then fired charged shots at his foe, but Pit managed to avoid them and then attack him with a melee combo. It didn't take very long until Orbitars Aurum Pit was defeated. "OVERHEATING..." he said and landed on his back, shutting down. "TEAMMATES LOST! ACTIVATING PINCH MODE!" said Blade Aurum Pit. His body then started to glow as he activated Pinch Mode. "What's happening to the captain?!" Pit asked. "He's in Pinch Mode," Devil Pit replied. "Once he lost all his teammates of the squad, his stats are increased. So you're probably in trouble." "Not on my watch!" said Pit. The two of them then square off and Blade Aurum Pit wasn't going down that easily. "Man! This guy is tough!" Pit exclaimed. "Hence the name 'Pinch Mode,'" said Viridi. Luckily, Pit dodged his powerful attacks and then took him down. "BATTLE LOST... DEACTIVATING PINCH MODE..." Blade Aurum Pit said in defeat. His body stopped glowing and he landed on his back, shutting down. "I'm impressed, but now you must take down the generator," said Devil Pit. "I'll be glad to do so!" said Pit. He then drank another Drink of the Gods and entered the doors to finish his mission.

Music stops and switches to: Boss Fight 1

Pit entered the room and spotted the Aurum Generator. "That's the Aurum Hive's power generator," said Palutena. "It's as bright as the sun!" Pit exclaimed as he hopped on a Grind Rail and nearly lost balance. "Whoa!" he gasped and after he regained balance, the battle began. "Well that's because it came from my literal firepower," said Devil Pit. "But let's see how well you can handle the heat." He then sent out his minions to stop Pit. "So I should attack the center?" said angel asked. "Yes, and don't forget you can switch between Grind Rails as you see fit," said Palutena. "Weapons have different ranges, so feel out how far the rails are from the generator." Suddenly, Pit heard another voice. "HA HA HA HA HA HA!" Pyrrhon laughed. "Pyrrhon? What are you doing here?" Pit asked in shock. "Looks like you could use a hand there, little angel," the Sun God responded. "The heroic hand...of justice!" "No, I'm fine," said Pit. "Try my pyroweaponry on for size!" said Pyrrhon and shot at the Aurum Generator, but instead of taking damage, it heats up. "That's...odd," Pyrrhon wondered. "Apparently adding heat to heat only makes things hotter," said Palutena. "HA HA HA HA HA!" Pyrrhon laughed, nervously. "That is to say, oops. My bad." "'My bad?' That's all you have to say?" Pit questioned. "No. I have one more message to impart to you," Pyrrhon responded. "I wish you luck! You're going to need it. And with that, I must leave you! Until we meet again!" He then left Pit to fight the Aurum Generator himself. "Arrgh! What an idiot!" Pit groaned. "That's what I was thinking," said Devil Pit. "Wait for when the rails are parallel," Palutena explained. "Then jump on the rail that's closest to the power generator and fire away. But be sure to watch out for incoming fire." Pit managed to avoid the attacks and hopped on different Grind Rails to swtich positions. After that, the Aurum Generator was defeated. "Pulverazed!" he exclaimed in victory. "Nice. Now let's get you out of there!" said Palutena. "I better get out of here, too," said Devil Pit. "But I'm not leaving until I grab my commanders." Pit was then extracted by Palutena via a light pillar while the generator shut down. Devil Pit teleported himself, along with the Aurum Pit Squad, away from the Aurum Hive as fast as he could. Just in time as the Aurum Hive imploded on itself while Pyrrhon watches. "And now on to the Aurum Brain..." he said.

Music stops and switches to: (M)THB ARC Extended Music" Athenaeum Riba's Theme (A.K.A. Devil Pit's Theme)

Devil Pit arrived back at the Aurum's main base and repaired the Aurum Pit Squad. "THE ENEMIES ARE ABOUT TO DESTORY US," said Blade Aurum Pit. "IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO RIGHT NOW?" "No," Devil Pit replied. "You've already done your duty, my commanders. Because what they don't know is that I'm only luring them in so that I can bring in the sacrifice to power us up." "AND HOW ELSE ARE YOU GOING TO DO THAT?" asked Club Aurum Pit. "You'll see for yourself later on," Devil Pit replied. "Now get to your pods. You need to be recharged for the backup plan." "UNDERSTOOD, OUR LORD AND PATRIARCH," Blade Aurum Pit responded as he and his squad entered their pods to rejuvenate. "System, think you can prepare yourselves to send out all of our forces to lure in our bait?" he asked the system. "REQUISTITION COMPUTED," the system stated. "THE AURUM SHALL BE DEPLOYED FOR THE BATTLE. NONE SHALL REMAIN LEFT ALIVE." "Excellent," said Devil Pit as he left the base. "Those fools won't know what hit 'em. Hmhmhmhmhmhm..."

Getting closer to the end of the Aurum arc. Stay tuned for chapter seventeen, review and have a great day!
