After the 4th Class Trial, the surviving students explored the now unlocked 5th floor.

The main rooms of the 5th floor were: A Botanical Garden (with a chicken coop and tool shed), a Biology Lab and a Dojo.

After the exploration, they held once again a meeting in the Dining Hall.

"Very well, we can now start with the reports." said Valentine.

"J-Josuke and I have found a Botanical Garden. It has also a chiken coop and a tool shed."

"I haven't found other stairs on that floor, so I presume that this building has only 5 floors. Also, I found a very bizarre classroom. The room was filled with the smell of dry blood and grease. The blood was dark red, so I think It happened long time ago." Tanya said.

"Filled with the smell of blood?" Chihiro said, covering his mouth with his hand from shock.

"That's right. Remember "The Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History" that Monika mentioned? I think it happened in that classroom." the Major said.

Touko shyly raised her hand.

"Hm? What is it, Touko?" Giorno asked.

"Master GioGio, I-I have found something interesting in a classroom on the 5th f-floor." Touko pulled out a survival knife.

Everyone was surprised.

"A survival knife?!" Josuke said.

"Weird. I feel like I've seen that knife before..." Tanya thought.

"That could be dangerous, I'll keep it for the moment." Giorno took the knife. "Touko, you were right to tell us about the knife. Well done."

Touko rejoiced.

"Master GioGio...complimented me...This is the best of my life!" she said and made a lewd smile, which creeped out Giorno.

"There's also a Bio Lab, which is still locked. I wonder what's in there." L said.

"I think that's all, you may leave." said Valentine.

Before everyone left, L whispered to Giorno:

"Meet me tonight at the bathhouse, I have to tell you something important. Tanya will also be there."

During the day, the students heard Monokuma ranting about a thief and something that was stolen from him.

The night arrived and Giorno (after hiding the knife in one of his drawers) went to the bathhouse, there he found L and Tanya.

"Oh, there you are." said the Detective.

"What do you want to talk about? And why's Tanya here?" the Italian young man asked.

"You see, I was thinking about an important clue that Lelouch left to us, and I theorised that maybe he unlocked a door. So, investigated And I found out that the Headmaster's office was open and stole this." L pulled out a Monokuma-shaped key out of his pocket.

"Is this what Monokuma was talking about?" Giorno asked.

"I want to know what door this key opens so, can you distract Monokuma while Tanya and I investigate?"

Giorno obeyed and Tanya and L managed to unlock the 2nd floor of the Dorms and hide there.

The next day, Everyone met in the Dining Hall, with the exception of 2 people.

"Hey, has anyone seen Tanya and L today?" Josuke asked.

"No, I didn't. I tried to call them from their rooms but they didn't answer." Valentine said.

"I presume the plan worked. Now, I only have to believe in them hoping that Monokuma doesn't find them." Giorno thought.

Everyone had some free time and GioGio decided to hanging out with Touko.

During their hang out, the blond young man noticed something was wrong with the girl.

"Touko." he asked.

"Yes, Master GioGio?"

"You seemed worried about something. Are you okay?"

"...I-I've got a writer's block." she said.

"Really?"

"I've been t-trapped in here too long. There's nothing to do. The boredom's s-started killing me... So I thought maybe I could write my n-next novel... The p-pinnacle of romance literature! But I c-can't do it... My powers of delusion are i-in a complete slump...! This has never h-happened before...B-But it's n-not your fault! I-I just mistakenly opened up some old w-wounds! I-I think I'm gonna retire..." Touko said.

"Retiring? That's such a waste of talent!" Giorno said. "Wait...I have an idea...Touko, try to look back at why you started writing in the first place."

"... It all started...w-with a single love letter. When I was in e-elementary school, I...fell in l-love for the first time...He was a f-friend of mine. There weren't any feelings a-at first. He was the only boy I c-could talk to without getting h-hung up...But then he told me...h-his family was moving to Shikoku... As soon as he said that, I could f-feel my chest start to tighten...At first I d-didn't even understand what I was feeling. It was a t-total mystery... B-But I was too embarrassed to tell him h-how I felt directly. So instead...I wr-wrote him a love letter. And then..."

"And then?"

"The next day, the d-day he left...I saw he'd hung the letter up o-on the school bulletin board..."

"Really?"

Touko nodded. "I got to talk to him a-again later on...Apparently h-he hated the fact that I talked to h-him so much... All the other kids u-used to make fun of him for it... I guess that was his revenge, to sh-show the world my letter r-right before running off...!"

"Jesus Christ...I can understand not reciprocate her feelings, but that's straight up a dick move." Giorno thought.

"But one of the t-teachers that read the letter...said I h-had a talent for writing...And that's what s-sparked my interest in writing."

"Poor Touko...Just like me, she didn't had a happy childhood...I wonder if because of that Genocide Jack appeared. Listen up, Touko. If you can't write a romance novel at the moment, how about you try to write something else? Try to use your feelings and write from the heart!"

"You're saying I sh-should take these feelings of anger and e-emptiness...and turn them into a novel?" Touko then started to chuckle. "Aha...ahaha! That's n-not a bad idea...! Fine! I'm g-gonna do it! Write from the h-heart! Ahaheeheha...! I...I'm gonna d-do it! I-I'm sure you'll l-like it, Master GioGio! Ahohuhehueh...!" then she left.

"Well, she seems motivated." he said.

The night arrived, Giorno was tired and his forehead was hot.

"Ugh...I feel like crap...I think I got a fever...Perhaps I should take a rest..." GioGio sank on the bed.

While he slept, he had a bizarre dream. He saw some school places with his voice narrating something.

"I know..." It said. "My goal isn't to get out of this place. I must stay here. All in the name of Hope...I'm sure everything will be fine, don't you think, sorella?"

The boy woke up from the dream and, confused, found a rather unpleasant surprise.

A mysterious figure was about to attack him. Giorno was to weak to react or summon his stand but, with much of his surprise, Gold Experience appeared without Giorno wishing it.

"MUDA!" The stand tried to attack the masked figure but he dodged and ran away.

"Huh? But...I didn't summoned it..."

Giorno fainted.

The next day, he got up and went to the Dining Hall, but he didn't found anyone there.

He searched for them, and found everyone in the Gym, disassembling Monokuma.

"What the-?! What are you guys doing?!" He said, shocked.

"Relax, it's malfunctioning." said Valentine. "Just before you left and went to sleep, I came to the gym to talk with Monokuma if he had some informations about L and Tanya's disappearance. I found him here, however, he didn't react to anything. He wasn't moving at all."

"If so, it's better if we take advantage of it." said Giorno.

"You're right. This is a battle between us and the Mastermind, we have no time to dilly-dally." said the Ultimate Leader.

Everyone decided to break down the door of the Headmaster's office.

Giorno, since he didn't want to use the stands as a precaution (also because he thought that the Mastermind had a stand), he asked Touko to get a pickaxe from the Garden, which he considered a little more stealth than punching the door.

Touko went...and instead, Genocide Jill returned without a pickaxe.

"Helllllo there! Your Friendly-Neighbourhood Serial Killer is here!" she said.

"Right, Touko and Genocide Jill don't share the same memories. Genocide Jill, I asked Touko to go get a pickaxe in the Garden." said Giorno.

"Ooooh, so that's why I was there! We've resolved a mystery! Now, there's also a second one."

"What do you mean?"

"Why is there a corpse in the Garden? Kyahahaha!" said the killer.

Everyone was shocked.

"There's a what?!" Josuke said.

The students ran to the Garden and found there a corpse.
