The door opened slowly, and it made a creaking noise while doing so.
"Whoah!" Exclaimed Link, as he peered into the dimly lit corridor that the door led to.
Ember glanced around the corridor Link was walking through, trying to find some sense of where she was. She was able to read a sign that looked like it was in the language of the Goron. Back in her home, the Dodongos learned how to read Goron so she could get around the caves easily. The sign said: HELP.
She quaked with fear and caught other signs scattered around the hallway. TURN BACK. THIS IS NOW A DUNGEON. WATCH OUT FOR THE ARMOGOHMA. WELCOME TO THE SPIDER MINES.
But Link did not notice those signs, so he kept on going. At the end of the corridor, there was another door similar to the one they went into.
"Do not enter." read Link. "That just makes me want to enter!"
"Link!" Ember yelled from her bottle. "It's dangerous! You could die in there!"
But Link did not notice Ember's pleas, and continued to open the door.
What was behind the door brought the breath right out of Ember. A large, cavernous pit was surrounded by walkways and mine tracks, and some minecarts were still on them. Gems and other shiny objects jutted out from the floor and walls, and holes that led to caves were inside the walls. Old mining equipment was left everywhere, and the whole place was illuminated by some unseen light.
Even through all the beauty, Ember felt a presence deep in the pit somewhere. She could feel monsters in the caves.
Link gasped and walked through the door. But then to Ember's surprise, the door shut behind them, and when Link tried to open it again, it would not budge.
"Dang it!" Link yelled angrily. "I'm in a dungeon!"
Link quickly let Ember, Kestu, and Drake out of their bottles.
"I knew we should not have gone here." Drake growled.
Ember quickly ran up to a nearby gem and ate it. It satisfied her hunger and helped her calm herself down.
"That tasted good." sighed Ember.
"Yikes," Drake yelped. "How did that not break your teeth, Ember?"
"We Dodongos like to eat rocks like gorons." Ember told him.
"Yeah." Agreed Kestu.
"Alright guys," Link called over. "We are going to try to get to the bottom. We are in a dungeon, so we will be rewarded upon beating it. We need to fight both the Sub-Boss and the Boss. This dungeon is not well known, so I do not know the secrets to beating this."
"I do." Drake piped up.
"Drake says he does." Kestu translated to Link.
"With you old trainer?" Link asked Drake.
Drake nodded twice.
"I don't really remember much, because I was young, but yes, you must go to the bottom. The cave over there leads to the sub-boss room, and when you beat it, those rails will lower and you must ride to the bottom, while using your monsters to fight the enemies in your path." Drake explained passionately.
Kestu translated that to Link.
"Wow. I'm kinda lucky that I have you on my team!" exclaimed Link.
"Yeah." Kestu agreed.
"Yeah." Ember also agreed.
"I don't know what monsters we are fighting, though," Drake explained. "My team only watched the entrance, and we did not attend the meeting about it. I know it is a low leveled dungeon, though."
Kestu translated that again.
Link beckoned to them as they walked down the path in the direction of the door that Drake had told them was the right door.
Inside, giant gears were turning and metal was clanging against metal. The room seemed like a hallway, and everything seemed to center around the one monster in the middle of the room. A large metallic monster stood in front of them, its blue eye glaring at them. It had four long, spidery legs, and its body looked like it was created from some ancient materials.
"Oh man. A Guardian Stalker." Link gasped in terror.
Drake, Ember, and Kestu all leaped up and fired attacks at the metallic creature.
"Watch out for its laser!" Link warned them as the attacks struck.
The Guardian did not even flinch, and it marched toward them with surprising speed.
"Ember! Earthquake!" Link yelled.
Ember hit the ground with as much force as she could muster, and Mountain energy sprung up around the Guardian, but it did not even seem affected.
Drake pulled a reinforced bow from his back when he landed, and quickly put up an arrow.
"Good idea!" Kestu laughed. "Aim for the eye!"
Drake smirked and fired an arrow with surprising accuracy, and the arrow pierced the Guardians eye, and the Guardian seemed to malfunction for a moment.
But it continued on, and it suddenly fired a blue laser beam at Drake, and it smashed into the poor Lizalfos. Drake flew back and hit into the wall with a sickening crunch.
"Gah!" gasped the Lizalfos, who flopped to the floor and rose to his feet. "This metallic monstrosity is going down!"
Ember quickly summoned up a Flamethrower, and pelted the Guardian Stalker with flame. Its body whipped around and seemed to melt a little.
Kestu fired a Mega Drain for more health.
"I think it's also an Ancient type!" Kestu informed them.
"Alright, that means I should use my Plain energy!" Drake yelled, summoning bright yellow light onto his sword.
He leaped into the air, and his sword became a blur as scratches and cuts formed in the Stalker's body.
The Guardian seemed to glitch and spring around and rise up and down randomly. It then ran over and smashed into a wall.
Outside there was a clunking noise as the rails lowered to the ground, and the rattling of a minecart.
The group ran outside and quickly jumped into the minecart, which immediately started off down the road.
"Let's get this over with." muttered Link.
Suddenly, little Guardians and Skulltula started popping up on the rail, attempting to knock the cart off the rails.
"Guys!" yelled Link.
All three Zeldamon fired off attacks in rapid succession, aiming for the monsters on the rails and not the rails itself.
Ember found it difficult to control her attacks, because the cart was rattling back and forth.
As they slowly grew nearer to the bottom, they caught sight of many gigantic cobwebs on the side of the wall.
When they finally reached the bottom, the cobwebs had plastered the walls so thickly, Ember could not see the gems that should stick out of the wall.
Suddenly, eight giant legs appeared from the darkness. One, big glowing eye appeared. A gigantic monstrosity had found its way to them. They were about to fight the boss of this dungeon…
