AN: sorry for the late uploads! I kind of sprained an ankle at school, this didn't exactly contribute to my motivation. Again very sorry! I'll probably have to delay the chapter to next monday
"Argh! Let me go, you idiot! Why-"
"Silence, jeez you always talk when the duration of the spell finishes, besides, you don't need to know why you are here. You only need to know that from now on, I can get you no matter where you are." Frisk knew that it was Flowey who took Toriel´s soul. He expected that subduing him would be harder, but…
"That was so pathetic…" Frisk muttered as he looked at the now red and yellow Flowey, who wanted nothing more than to give a piece of its mind.
How did Toriel even lose to this guy? Eh, it doesn't matter.
"Restraint!" this spell would prevent Flowey from attacking anyone with a soul unless ordered otherwise.
He is still very feisty, so why could I tame him so easily? Well, that doesn't matter, this eliminates my need for a summoning contract in this timeline. I just need to take it easy and learn elemental magic, but this leaves me with another problem… how am I going to get this fairy in the other timeline?
Despite the fairy being alive, it did not have a soul, which meant that there was a summoning ritual involved, but no matter how many times he tried, Toriel never showed him the method. She said it was too dangerous.
"From now on you will live with me, whether you like it or not. You caused too much trouble, you have to pay me back!" Frisk said childishly.
Flowey wanted to do nothing more than lash out, but he was currently muted, once he was picked up by Frisk, they both went to Toriel's house.
Frisk stopped frowning and put on a smile, one that had a sense of mischief. Frisk sneaked Flowey past Toriel by making him look like an ordinary flower that he painted a face on.
It took a few resets to convince her, but it worked.
"Hey teach me how to use those friendliness pellets."
"Huh? Idiot why would i-"
Frisk clenched his right hand and spoke. "Punish!"
Among the multiple spells contained in the grimoire, the punish spell was in essence, a flood of negative emotions by stimulating the brain, this worked on normal animals and even humans, but the practice of enslavement was banned after the population was reduced.
The intensity varied from person to person, but it was always enough to make them suffer. Of course, the more bad someone feels, the more mana gets sucked out of the caster. If Frisk had a perseverance soul, he would be able to extract the information from FLowey.
"Ugh!" Frisk was surprised as he started feeling dizzy, yet Flowey was just fine and even showed a sneering smile. He had not felt mana exhaustion since he was blessed by Emil
"Aww, you seem to have a headache, you wanted me to feel bad? Hehe, I can't even feel it! I've done things you can't even begin to imagine! I have-"
Frisk slowly stumbled towards Flowey as the latter talked and flicked him in the forehead. "Share!"
Misery loves company.
"You…! " now both of them lay down with a minuscule amount of energy, seeing how convenient this magic was, Flowey asked. " say, how about we trade? I teach you white magic and you show me this enslavement-"
"Summoning" Frisk interrupted.
"-magic."
"Hmm, what do you think?" he didn't speak to Flowey but to Chara.
[...hmm, well, you could reset and he wouldn't have the knowledge any more, and I don't think he doesn't have emotions, he must have shielded himself in some way. But from what I've seen your resets don't completely erase memories. That's another difference…] Chara muttered the last part
"Sure," Frisk said. "If anything happens I'm not held responsible though."
"Heh, sure thing buddy~"
"Don't butter up to me, Idiot." he had said the last part with Flowey's Voice to mock him.
This way, Frisk had gained another form of magic, Once he reset, he would have nobody to rival him above ground!
"So what you want to do is to gather all the mana in one spot to give it shape, that's about it," Flowey explained.
"But… how? Mana doesn't work like that." Frisk had a puzzled look.
"Ugh, this is going to be so bad… you should just give up on magic if you can't figure that out. Look ". Flowey created a friendliness pellet slowly, it was not a speed that Frisk had seen before.
As he saw it, he noticed the mana was still ethereal, it was not until the mana was condensed to an impossible degree that it turned physical.
"There's no way I have enough mana for that…monsters really earned their name huh? Though I guess since you have no soul, that makes you a monster beast or something?"
"Like I'd tell you, idiot!"
"Ugh, this was a terrible idea. Maybe I should just put you down." Frisk muttered. "Chara, where are the knives?" once Frisk said this, Flowey started shivering.
"What did you say?" Flowey's words sounded like a threat, but Frisk ignored him as he muted him.
[don't kill him, what will Toriel say if you cut the flower you especially brought? Wouldn't that be weird?]
"oh, yeah, I guess I can just shut him up, after all, he didn't teach me anything." Frisk looked at Flowey and muted him.
"Anyways, I need to practice wind magic…" he muttered
He still hadn't mastered the first wind spell, so he worked on it before going to sleep, he transformed back into a wolf pup and begrudgingly slept that way.
As he went asleep, Flowey´s magical restraint went away, he went up to Frisk and surrounded the bed in thorny Vines, but ultimately decided not to.
"Dammit, how does this twerp know Chara…" Flowey muttered before leaving his thoughts to wander "ugh, I have time, too much time, he can live for now…"
The next day…
Frisk had slept very well, much to his dismay, he felt full of energy. His "true" form was that of a wolf…
"Oh boy, leave it to the god of hate to make me not like sleeping…" he said to particular nobody. Frisk got out of bed and tidied himself up before going to the living room. He noticed that Toriel wasn't finished with breakfast.
Hmm… Frisk walked toward the kitchen
"Oh, hello my child, you woke up early. Would you like to eat together?"
"Oh? It's ready? It must be cereal then." Frisk took a guess.
"That is right, I thought that something light would help you feel less tired, though I guess it matters not anymore."
They both took some cereal, Frisk ate it while barely maintaining table manners while Toriel leisurely took bites as she looked at Frisk.
"My child, why do you eat so hastily?" Toriel inquired.
"That way we have more time to train magic!" Frisk declared righteously, raising the spoon as though it was a sword.
[you have no table manners…] Chara muttered poignantly as if she was remembering someone.
Toriel chuckled "Well, how about we agree? If you slow down a bit and bear with my teaching of table manners, I will let you learn a little secret that will make you learn wind magic faster."
"Alright!" Frisk had finished the bowl. "What's the secret?" his excitement was shown on his face, as well as his wagging tail, he quickly noticed and suppressed his emotions.
"Well, if the wind is more often, something might happen, there is a place I would like you to visit with me.
Frisk nodded as they both went outside, forgetting Flowey entirely.
On their way, Frisk took a deep breath and did a [save]
So far so good… once I learn this spell everything will be much easier.
They continued to walk and they eventually reached the place where he found the toy knife. He didn't take a good look at the area as his gut told him to not look at it.
Indeed his gut was right. It was because below the platform, no, the balcony was a city
"..." Toriel felt the grasp on her hand tighten.
Eek! Distress flowed through Frisk's thoughts.
[oh? Are you… scared? From what?.]
"I-is there no windier place? "
"I am afraid not, my child, but this should be enough if you stand in the middle of the balcony."
I need to think of something, Quick!
Frisk had an acute fear of heights!
But… I can learn magic faster… no! In the first place, learning magic requires a calm mind, I definitely won't be able to learn it like this. But… I just need to calm down…
Frisk was convincing himself as Toriel walked with him in toward the middle of the windy balcony. Frisk didn't dare to look down and focused on feeling the wind around him. He tried to calm down by trying to forget where he was and simply focus on the magic…
1 second…
5 seconds…
20 seconds…
I got it!
He felt he had a grasp of how wind travels!
What he had been missing were the air currents to move the spell!
"I think I got it."
"Hmm? That was fast… let me see the wind cut spell"
He focused and waved his hand, the next moment a cut appeared on the wall.
"Very well, it is a bit weak, but that is expected from the wind," Toriel said, but Frisk was already gone.
: come on! Let's race to the house!" Frisk quickly made an excuse as he awkwardly laughed. He was happy to learn the spell, however, he would not go toward the balcony.
Running towards Toriel's home was easy and since he had a headstart Frisk won.
Toriel smiled, her face was full of amusement.
"Indeed, wind magicians sure a breath of fresh air." she chuckled at her pun. "Perhaps I should write that down." she Leisurely walked, not because she didn't want to run, but because if she did, she might pull something.
." I hope things stay like this." Toriel muttered as she entered her home.
