Chapter 12 - Stream of Unresolved Questions
Author's note: Hi readers, I'm back! Sorry this one's a tad late. A lot has been going on with me lately (some good, some bad), so hopefully you understand. Time to reply to your reviews.
Avimo, your questions will be answered as the story progresses.
Guest # 1, the error has been fixed. Thanks for pointing it out! :)
Guest # 2, I've envisioned Mike as the type to have occasional outbursts, especially since he called Mr. Wonka an idiot in the 2005 movie, plus the fact that he's undoubtedly getting very annoyed at Stella.
Turrislucidus, room descriptions, or even descriptions of buildings in general, are one of my greatest abilities as a writer. It's all thanks to the real estate magazines I've devoured since I was a little kid. :D Also, I had a feeling you'd get very excited when the Great Glass Elevator finally made its appearance.
Guest # 3, I almost forgot about that moment from the book! If the other GGE car was indeed traveling on the same track in the opposite direction, there would definitely have been a major collision. However, we can find comfort in two areas: 1) I highly doubt Mr. Wonka would put himself and his guests in such serious danger, and 2) don't forget, the GGE is shatterproof, bulletproof and Knidproof, and it survived re-entry into Earth's atmosphere, so it can handle virtually anything as far as I'm concerned. Hmm, maybe in one of my other stories, I could write a scene where the car is subjected to a whole bunch of testing, with explosives, high-speed collisions, extreme heat and cold, etc. That would be fun to write about. Thanks for the idea! Now, on with the story!
Audio log # 5: ID number 586749…it's Mike Teavee again. I don't know what I've gotten myself into. There are communication blackouts on both Stella's and A'pocolate's lines, and I feel like I'm stuck in a dangerous game of "monkey in the middle" here. Not to mention that my locator keeps switching back and forth between the two as well. I'm tempted to side with A'pocolate since he is at least helping me to protect his own kind, and I'm pleased to know that he's happy with my mission so far. However, I'm unsure as to why he wasn't able to give me the briefing upon entering the Hospital. My guess is that Stella jammed his signal, but then why didn't A'pocolate tell me that?
As you can tell, I still have a lot more questions than answers. Why did Stella want me to go into the MRI room while the machine was powered on? Maybe she wanted me to become permanently stuck inside so that she could enter the factory herself and do whatever she wants with me? She knows the way. She has the floor plans. That may have helped me in the beginning, but now I'm scared.
Why couldn't I just backtrack to the Security Room to destroy the fuse boxes like I was supposed to? If I did so, I MAY have been able to prevent some of the monsters from romping around the factory, but they also use the vents to get around so what's the point? I'm tired and hungry, especially after vomiting earlier. Backtracking would only cause me to waste more energy. Although to look at it from another perspective, it's possible that A'pocolate or another living Oompa-Loompa could have hacked the locator at that moment so that I would be directed to fix the computer. I must enter the mines as soon as possible in order to carry out his mission. Maybe I could take the elevator to the Security Room afterwards. Again, this is Mike Teavee, and I'm signing off.
Author's note: I hope you enjoyed this chapter, even if it was just an audio log. Stay tuned for the next one, where Mike will enter the Rock Candy Mine!
