Class 1-A

After the USJ incident, everyone got a few days off to rest before it was time to return to school.

Goku walked into class only for his deputy to approach him. "Goku."

"Oh, hey Momo." Goku greeted. "What's up?"

"I didn't get a chance to say something else before you went off to have your talk with Bakugo." Momo informed. "I just wanted to say you were amazing for jumping into fight with Aizawa, and I also hope you are okay."

Goku paused momentarily. For some reason he couldn't place, it felt nice to have Momo worry about him. He registered that it felt different from his family or friends, yet he couldn't place anything beyond that.

"Well, I'm certain any of you would have done the same." Goku finally stated while grinning. "I was just the one who acted first. Hey, no need to worry about me because I'm well rested, ate a big breakfaster, and fell at one hundred percent."

Izuku then approached the pair. "Goku, I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, but I've had some questions on my mind for a while now."

"Huh, sure Izuku." Goku turned to him. "What's on your mind?"

"I wanted to ask about what happened to you at the U.S.J." Izuku asked. "Your hair was spikier, your eyes changed color, and you were way stronger than you should have been." He waved his hands frantically. "Not that your weak as you are but…"

"Whoa, I get what you mean." Goku put a hand on his friend's shoulder. "No offense taken, so just proceed."

"Right." Izuku nodded. "I also noticed some sort of blue energy coming off you at times. While that could have just been your strength, it's never been there before."

Goku was about to speak before Aizawa walked into the room. "Shield, come with me." He walked back out the door. "You and I need to talk in private."

"Oh, right sir." Goku waved to Momo and Izuku. "I doubt we'll be able to talk after this, so I'll catch up with you two later."

Aizawa and Goku were alone.

"First, I wanted to thank you for saving me." The teacher voiced. "Even though it was dangerous, I may not be standing here today had you not been there."

"I was just doing my part to help a Hero combat the unfairness of the world, sir." Goku retorted.

"Hm, I also want to know what that change in you was." Aizawa stated.

"Being completely honest, I have no clue." Goku admitted. "Whatever that was, I haven't been able to tap into it since."

"Then, how were you able to use another Quirk?" Aizawa asked. "You created a blue ball of energy out of thin air. For someone with a mere strength Quirk, that shouldn't be possible."

"Again, I just don't know." Goku stated genuinely. "All I did was picture Bakugo's explosions in my head and instinctually tried to replicate it. I don't know why, and I don't know how it came out the way it did. I will say that unlike that change, I can still use the energy."

He created a small sphere of it over his pointer finger before it dissipated. "I think there's more to this. Not only can I use energy to attack, but I've felt stronger than before. Also, more pictures of other people have appeared in my head leading to believe I can do more."

"I see." Aizawa stated. "Thank you for your time. Head into class and get them to settle down before I enter. I'll be along shortly."

"Understood, sir." Goku voiced before entering the class.

"I'll have to keep my eye on him and fill in Nezu on this. Probably All Might to." Aizawa thought. "Fortunately, the event coming in about a month should be the perfect opportunity to observe him."

Class 1-A

Goku did get everyone to take their seats, but he wasn't about to stop them from continuing their conversations.

"Hey you guys." Hagakure spoke up. "Did you watch the news at any point before today?"

"Yeah." Ojiro responded.

"It was so cool that we got a few seconds of screen time." Toru excitedly declared. "Though I bet nobody noticed me hanging out in the background."

"Probably not." Mezo commented.

"It is difficult to stand out when you're just gloves." Mashairao added trying too not be blunt about it.

"Out of all of us, Goku received the most screen time even though he was unconscious and being escorted to the nurse's office."

Goku sheepishly laugh and scratched the back of his head.

"We're totally big deals." Denki leaned back in his chair. "Those news channels love us, and we're basically celebrities."

"Yeah, it's kind of crazy right?" Kirishima added.

"Get over yourselves." Kyoka butted in. "The Hero course that pumps out Pros was attacked, a student was hurt badly, and two of the Villains managed to escape just that night. That's what they care about."

"Yeah." Hanta agreed. "Who knows what would have happened to us if the teachers hadn't shown up."

"Did you guys see All Might fighting the bird guy?" Yamcha pointed out. "I only caught a little bit of it as I was holding that void guy down, but it was still cool."

"Yes." Fumikage commented. "His strength is truly a thing of wonder." He looked to their class rep. "Considering what our classmates confirm of our class rep, it seems he is the closest to that level of strength."

Before any more conversation could be had, Aizawa walked back into the room. "Alright, quiet down class." He took his place at the head of them. "I'm going to cut right to the chase. Even with the USJ behind you, your fight isn't over yet."

"Our fight?" Bakugo repeated.

"Don't tell me." Izuku started.

"Are those two Villains waiting somewhere for us?" Goku asked seriously.

Aizawa looked at the class before explaining. "The U.A. Sports Festival is about to start."

That exited the class and got rid of whatever tension there was.

"Why would you scare us like that!?" The class asked.

"Let's go kick some ass!" Eijiro cheered.

"Wait a second." Kaminari interjected.

"Is it really such a good idea to hold the Sports Festival so soon after the Villains snuck inside?" Jiro asked.

"They could attack once we're all in the same place." Ojiro pointed out.

"Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever." Aizawa informed. "Plus, they're beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at U.A.

It's not something we can cancel because of a few Villains. Our Sports Festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world. In the past, everyone was obsessed over the Olympic Games, but then Quirks started appearing.

Now the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters. The U.A. Sports Festival."

"That's right." Momo agreed. "Top Heroes everywhere will be watching. This is where we will get scouted."

"She's right." Denki added. "After graduating, a lot of people join Pro Agencies as a Sidekick."

"Yeah, but that's as far as some people go." Kyoka remarked. "They miss their chance to go indie and stay eternal sidekicks. Actually, that's probably where you're heading. You're kind of dumb."

She did not hold back, and Kaminari was visibly upset with that remark.

"It's true that joining a famous Hero Agency can garner greater experience and popularity." Aizawa confirmed. "That's why the Festival matters. If you want to go Pro one day, then this event can open a path for you. One chance a year, three chances in a lifetime, no aspiring Hero can afford to miss this Festival. That means you better not slack off on your training."

"Yes sir." The class said in unison.

"Class is dismissed." Aizawa informed before leaving the room.

Later…

The rest of the classes went by swiftly before it was time to go to lunch.

"That Villain stuff sucked sure, but I'm pumped for these games!" Eijiro spoke up.

"We put on a good show, and we're basically on the road to being pros!" Hanta added.

"Yeah, this is why I'm even here in the first place." Yamcha remarked.

"We get so few chances." Tokoyami commented. "We have to make the most of this."

"Oh man you guys, I'm getting kind of nervous about the Festival." Hagakure admitted. "I have to come up with a way to get noticed."

She then started attempting to do a sort of cheer while Ojiro and Goku were thinking of a way to help.

"Uh sure." Ojiro stated. "Maybe you should be looking at a shiner costume or something?"

"Do we actually wear our Hero costumes during the Festival?" Goku asked. "I heard it was the gym uniform."

"Oh, right." Mashairao realized. "Scratch that."

"My what's a boy to do?" Yuga came into the conversation while dramatically posing next to Koda who was freaked out. "I stand out even when I'm standing still. That means the scouts won't be able to take their eyes off me! Don't you agree?"

"You're so lucky Shoji." Denki commented. "People are bound to notice your unique Quirk."

"Sure, but what matters is that I show them how useful I can be." Mezo retorted.

"No doubt you'll make a scene too." Jiro teased getting on Kaminari's nerves again.

"This is going to be nuts." Izuku declared. "Everyone's so excited."

"Well yeah, of course we are." Iida got out of his chair and did his arm thing again. "We enrolled in this school with the sole aim to become Heroes, so naturally we're getting all fired up."

"Wow Iida, those are some interesting moves." Tsu pointed out. "Ribbit."

"You have to be excited too, right Midoriya?" Tenya questioned.

"Well yeah, of course I am." Izuku answered. "I'm also nervous."

"Deku, Iida, and Goku." Ochaco spoke up getting their attention as she looked absurdly determined and kind of scary. "Let's do our best in the Sports Festival!"

"I'm just checking, but that's not normal, right?" Goku questioned.

"Uraraka?" Izuku started. "What happened to your face?"

"Seriously, what's up." Ashido included herself in the conversation. "You're normally like the most laid-back girl ever."

Then, Ochaco continued with this newfound… whatever this is, by pumping her fist into the air. "Everyone! I'm going to do my best!"

Tenya, Midoriya, Mina and Asui just went with it and cheered her on. She then repeated it, but the other classmates were just confused, and they kind of awkwardly cheered her on as well. She ended up demanding they cheer again with more feeling.

Goku walked up to her. "Are you trying to hype up the whole class?"

She turned while keeping her current composure. "Heck yeah! I'm going to give it my all and make sure everyone's cheering!"

"Well, okay then." Goku smiled. "I'm not sure what's gotten into you, but I like the spirit." He addressed the whole class. "In fact, I want everyone to train hard for the Festival." He pumped his fist in the air. "That way we can all give it our best!"

Everyone cheered at that.

Corridor

After that, the class started heading to lunch. Goku walked with Iida, Izuku, and Uraraka who is not nearly as intense as she was in the classroom a few minutes ago.

While they were walking, Midoriya decided to ask her something. "Hey Uraraka."

"What's up?" She asked.

"Why did you decide to come to U.A.?" Midoriya asked. "What made you want to be a Pro Hero?"

"Oh. Well...because..." Ochaco started looking a bit embarrassed as she answered the question.

"For the money?" Izuku repeated what she said. "You want to be a Hero so you could get rich?"

"If we're cutting to the chase, then yeah." The girl rubbed the back of her head rapidly, but then putting that arm she was using in front of her. "Gah, I'm sorry if that sounds greedy! You three have such admirable motivations. I hope you don't think less of me now."

"Not at all." Iida replied. "Your goal is to support your well-being which is a perfectly admirable ambition to have."

"If that's not the case, knowing you, it's probably for someone else's sake." Goku reasoned.

"It's just kind of surprising is all." Midoriya pointed out.

"Well, Goku was almost on the mark." Uraraka sighed. "My family owns a construction company, but we haven't gotten any work lately meaning we're flat broke. Anyway, this isn't usually something I tell other people, but..."

The three boys, in complete coincidental synchronization, placed their hands on their own chins and were thinking.

"Construction, eh?" Tenya repeated.

Izuku realized something. "If she got licensed, I bet she could use her Quirk to bring costs down a lot."

"And they could sell their heavy lifting equipment." Iida added. "She could float everything."

"Add that with the paychecks from the Hero job, and she's practically swimming in cash with her parents." Goku included.

"I know right!?" Ochaco pointed her fingers at the three. "I've been telling dad that since I was a kid, but..." The girl was deep in thought as she reminisced about her past before clenching her fists. "I'm going to become a Pro. I'll sign with a good agency and get plenty of money. Then, I'll be able to let my parents have an easy life."

Iida and Midoriya were taken aback with that small speech, but Goku just smiled. He was happy to see that she not only had a goal she was determined to achieve, but also a good cause to keep her determined.

Then, Tenya raised his hands as high as they could and clapped making the other three look at him "That's beautiful!" He continued clapping. "So noble! Bravo! Bravo! BRAVO BARATISIMO!"

Goku then decided to join in with the clapping since it was making her smile and ease up a bit. "Keep that drive and nothing will stop you from achieving it."

Izuku was just in his thoughts smiling as well. Then, an all too familiar heroic laugh echoed throughout the halls as All Might himself suddenly appeared shocking the four of them.

"Young Midoriya!" He announced. "Is HERE!" He then looked at Goku. "So is my nephew, Goku!"

Goku smiled. "Hey, Uncle Might!"

"Whoa, All Might." Izuku stated shocked. "What are you doing here?"

"Lunch." All Might replied. "Ya want to eat with me?"

"That's adorable!" Uraraka cooed in a fangirl fashion.

"What do ya say?" All Might asked.

Izuku looked at Goku who just smiled and encouraged it. "Sure thing."

He left with the pro while the rest continued without him.

"Goku, are you okay with this?" Iida asked.

"Don't worry about me." Goku stated. "Uncle Might probably just wants to talk with Izuku since he does still have a similar Quirk." He shrugged. "Besides, Melissa and I have had plenty of dinners with him. It's selfish to want to hog him all to myself."

The three of them continued onto lunch.

Outside Class 1-A: Later…

It was the end of the afternoon classes, and the door to 1-A was crowded with dozens of other students from the other classes.

"Why the heck are you all here?" Ochaco asked shocked.

"Do you students have some sort of business with our class?" Tenya questioned.

"You know, it's kind of rude to block us in like this." Yamcha added.

"They're scouting out the competition, idiots." Katsuki informed while walking up to the crowd. "We're the class that survived a real Villain attack, so they want to see us with their own eyes."

"I just hope he doesn't scold anybody." Izuku muttered to himself.

Bakugo was now right in front of the crowd. "At least now you know what a future pro looks like." He scolded the crowd. "Now, move it extras."

That felt like a jinx and a half. Then again, what else would you expect from someone like Katsuki.

Iida did not like that comment. "You can't go around calling people extras just because you don't know who they are!"

Then, a new voice spoke up. "So, this is class 1-A." The person who spoke slowly moved himself to the front of the crowd and made himself visible to the class. "I heard you guys were impressive, but you sound like an ass. Is everyone in the Hero course delusional or just you?"

The classmates behind Katsuki were all shaking their heads in denial, trying to not get bled on, while Bakugo just stood there and raised his chin looking down on the boy who just insulted him. Goku already knew this was going to end badly if Katsuki kept it up.

He was going to step in, but then the boy continued speaking. "How sad to come here and find a bunch of egomaniacs. I wanted to be in the Hero course, but like many others here, I was forced to choose a different track. Such is life.

I didn't cut it the first time around, but I have another chance. If any of us do well in the Sports Festival, the teachers can decide to transfer us into the Hero course, and they'll have to transfer people out to make room."

That caused more of the class to tense up a bit. "Scouting the competition? Maybe some of my peers are, but I'm here to let you know that if you don't bring your very best, I'll steal your spot right from under you. Consider this a declaration of war."

Goku knew he now had to intervene, so he got up before walking towards the crowd.

Before he could speak, another voice shouted out from the masses and was a bit aggressive. "Hey you, I'm from class 1-B next door! We heard you fought some Villains, and I came to see if that was true; however, you're just a bunch of brats who think you're better than us! Talk all you want because it'll just be more embarrassing for you when you get K.O!"

Katsuki was about to walk away, but Goku got in front of the bully letting himself be the center of attention now. He wasn't doing this for Bakugo, but for the rest of the class. He looked at the crowd and pieced together thoughts. He needed to say this right, or he would make things worse.

"Going to try and defend your friend, you little punk!?" The 1-B student yelled out.

"Actually, I wanted to apologize about him." Goku began. "He's the bad boy of the class."

That comment made 1-A almost smirk while the 'bad boy' pushed himself past Goku and the crowd.

"Now Goku's going to take the brunt of Kacchan's actions." Midoriya stated worriedly.

He planned to move to where his friend was only to see Goku stick his hand back signaling to him that he had this under control.

Goku then looked at the 1-B kid. "What's your name?"

"Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, and don't you forget it!" Tetsutetsu answered.

"Okay Tetsutetsu." Goku replied. "Do you think your teacher would kick out any student that had potential for any reason?"

"He wouldn't, but what's your point kid?" Tetsutetsu asked.

"Mr. Aizawa is the same." Goku informed the crowd getting their full attention. "All 40 Hero students have the potential to be here, so our homeroom teachers wouldn't expel us just like that."

The purple haired boy didn't change his expression, but Tetsutetsu, as well as the rest of the crowd, let that sink on for a second. That new information let them see how different Class 1-A is being taught.

"I'm sorry that you didn't make it into the Hero course the first time." Goku spoke to the purple haired guy. "But I can see that you're someone who's working hard to become a Hero even after you missed your first chance. I respect people who work hard to achieve their dreams." He smiled and extended his hand forward. "So, I don't want any bad blood between us."

The purple haired guy looked at Goku's hand before turning his attention to the guy himself. "I declare war on your class, yet you're trying to make peace?"

"No." Goku corrected. "I'm acknowledging that there are others who want to join the Hero Course, and I'm offering them my morale support."

He kept his hand out and waited for what happens next. The purple haired guy decided to indulge Goku and grasped his hand. He shook it but didn't return the smile.

"To you, and the rest of you working to be Heroes, I have one last thing to say." Goku addressed everyone. "I hope you make it in, but not as replacements. Rather, as welcomed additions. After all, the world can never have enough Heroes in my opinion."

That comment made the crowd look at Goku in a different light. Unlike Bakugo, this guy was much more supportive and seemed to welcome the thought of more people coming into the Hero Course. That ended up making the crowd determined not to replace the class but join them.

The group cleared a path for Goku, and he looked back at the class. "Come on guys."

The class rep gestured for his class, and they walked through the path. That small speech didn't get rid of all the bad blood, but it cooled a lot of it. Thanks to Goku, the target on the 1-A student's backs was nowhere near as large as Katsuki's.

Eijiro ended up getting right next to Goku and wrapped his arm around his shoulder. "Not only was that speech manly, but the way you exited was even more manly than Bakugo's exit from earlier."

"You really saved our skins there Goku." Denki commented.

"Yeah." Hanta agreed. "Thanks for the save man."

"Hey, I'll always help my friends out." Goku remarked.

Outside

Goku ended up walking to the station with Izuku, Uraraka, and Tenya. They all had something to say to Goku.

"That was a close call." Ochaco commented. "Nice job getting them off our backs."

"I must commend that what you did was beyond noble." Iida pointed out. "Especially after what Bakugo did making them all paint a target on our backs."

"I'm just glad that you were able to get rid of that." Izuku added.

"I didn't get rid of the targets." Goku explained making the three look a bit concerned. "I just made them much smaller."

"What do you mean by that?" Uraraka asked. "The other students seemed pretty happy when you said all that stuff. Why would they still be gunning for us?"

"Oh, The Sports Festival." Tenya remembered. "Everyone's competing for the top spot, so everyone's got a target on them."

"Exactly." Goku replied. "I just made our targets much smaller by making sure not everyone hated us before the event began."

"That still makes me a bit nervous." Midoriya admitted. "I mean, everyone's watching, and I still don't know how to control my Quirk."

"Come on Izuku." Goku put an arm around him. "I see two things in your favor. First, someone who has a similar Quirk could recommend you to them and help you figure it out. Secondly, this is your chance to shine and show the world how hard you worked to get here."

"Goku…" Midoriya replied.

He couldn't say anything else. At this point, Izuku should have been used to Goku's positivity, but no matter how many times it happened, he's always surprised with how kind his friend is.

"Yeah." Ochaco agreed. "This is a big chance for all of us to shine."

"I agree." Iida added. "All of Goku's points are valid and can be applied to every one of us. It's always a surprise to see your expertise on these situations exceed my own expectations."

"Well, I've been around good role models." Goku remarked.

After that conversation was done with, the group had split off to go where they needed to.

The Next Month

It was nothing but training over the last month, in and out of school, as all of Class 1-
A strove to better themselves. Toru was improving her strength with normal workout routines. Yamcha fueled up on meat to push himself further.

Koji was improving his voice, and how he commands animals. Mashairao was honing his martial arts. Eijiro was keeping his hardening on for longer time spans after he got hit. Mezo was practicing morphing his limbs. Momo was creating more complex objects.

Katsuki focused on his Quirk, combat skills, and body pushing himself to his limit. Mina was using her acid for multiple actions at once. Tenya was using his engines until they burned out. Ochaco was experimenting with some tactics. Izuku was working his body to its limit.

Shoto was using his ice for longer periods of time as well as making the attacks larger. Kyoka was figuring out how to use her Quirk without her gear. Hanta was using his tape to multitask. Yuga was using his Navel Laser for longer before getting a stomach ache.

Tsuyu was practicing using her frog abilities. Denki was figuring out how much he can charge without shorting out. Fumikage was training Dark Shadow in the light. Goku worked through the various pictures he had to see what he could do with that blue energy.

Shield Apartment

It was now the morning of the Sports Festival and Goku was ready for it. Melissa had every right to compete in the third year's portion of the festival, but she was already established in the world of Support. That said, there was nothing stopping her form attending to support her brother.

"Alright, are you ready to go Goku?" Melissa asked.

"You bet." Goku voiced. "I've been ready for this since they were announced."

Melissa smiled at her brother. "Then, let's get going."

The only think I really need to talk about is Goku. Back in OG Dragon Ball, he picked up on the Kamehameha after seeing Roshi do it once, so it's not that much of a leap in logic to assume that he could pick up techniques from other sources. Case in point, he learned how to make ki spheres, even though this Goku doesn't know he's using Ki and assumes it's just a type of energy, from an impression Bakugo's explosions.

Just you wait because a month is a long time to experiment, so he'll have some special things to bust out on the Sport's Festival. That said, don't expect him to just have perfected everything. To sort of balance this, as Goku isn't really observing ki techniques, he's not going to be perfect at everything these impressions give him. Over this month, he'll have picked and choose what to really focus on. Get down.

Monster King: Don't worry, this story won't end after the first season's content.
