A/N: This was something I came up with after the scene with Trudy and Mouch in the November 9, 2022 episode of Chicago Fire. I don't own any of the characters.
Hank's Bike
Hank wasn't sure why he decided to get a motorcycle. He had learned to ride one and he had a license to ride one as well. He had gotten the bike a few years ago but had only taken it out a handful of times. When he decided to retire and move to New York when he and Olivia were getting married, he had thought about selling it. Olivia had come to Chicago by herself and they had gone for a ride along Lake Shore Drive. Olivia had a great time and convinced Hank not to sell it. Before he left Chicago and she would come to visit, they would go for rides with Trudy and Mouch and Kelly and Stella.
Hank and Olivia were heading out of the city to the Hamptons for the weekend. Noah was staying at a friend's for the entire weekend. Hank was picking her up on the bike at the Precinct and they were on their way. Olivia had changed her clothes in her office and she had hoped everyone was gone but they were still there. That included Elliot, who had been working on a case with them.
"I thought you were headin' out of town with the hubby."
"I am."
"Do you always dress like that?"
"Like what?"
"That."
"Maybe but the way I dress is no one's concern. Especially yours. You're still secretly hoping my marriage fails, so we can get together. That won't ever happen."
"I know and I just want you to be happy. I can tell he makes you happy. Honestly, talkin' to him has helped me cope with what happened to Kathy. I also needed you to tell me to stop bein' so selfish. I guess I just assumed you would be single and want a relationship with me."
"I respected Kathy and the kids enough while we were partners and I need that same respect from you now that I'm the one married. You were a big part of my life in the time we worked together but there will never be anything more between us. If you can't accept that I'm with Hank and happy, then there is no place for you in my life.
"I get it. I just wanna be a part of your life again in any way I can."
"Liv, this is a side of you I've never seen before. You're dressin' like Voight."
"There's nothing wrong with that."
Olivia got a text from Hank telling her he was there. Everyone left and headed out. Hank was out front leaning against the bike.
"Hey, Babe."
"Hey, Honey."
Olivia kissed Hank.
"Holy shit! That is an awesome bike!"
"Thanks. I bought it a few years ago but I didn't ride it much. I thought about sellin' it before I moved here but Olivia convinced me not too after I took her for a ride on it."
"Wait a minute, Liv actually rode on the back of a motorcycle?"
"Yep. You had a bike at one point, didn't you?"
"I still do. Maybe we can go for a ride together sometime."
"Yeah, maybe."
"I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own damn eyes. My Captain is a biker chick."
"Who would have thought?"
"Certainly not me."
"Ha, ha, ha! You're all funny! Honey, we need to get going."
"Have a great time."
"We will."
Hank got on, put his helmet on and started it. Olivia then put her helmet on and got on behind Hank. She wrapped her arms around his middle and then they left. Everyone else headed wherever they were headed as well.
Hank and Olivia arrived in the Hamptons and went to the hotel. They got checked in and then went to have dinner. They went to the restaurant and were seated. They looked at the menu and had their order taken.
"Is Stabler being a pain in the ass again?"
"Surprisingly, no. He said he just wants me to be happy and he wants to be a part of my life in any way he can. He did seem sincere about it. He said you've helped him cope with what happened to Kathy and he said he needed me to tell him to stop being so selfish, which I have many times. I just don't want him ruining things for us. I'm with you and I told him if he can't accept that, then there is no place for him in my life. He said he understood."
"Do you think he was serious about goin' for a ride?"
"I think he was."
"I don't wanna talk about him anymore. I want this weekend to be all about us."
"I love the sound of that."
They got their food and after they ate, they went back to the hotel. They went up to their room. Before Hank could even get the door open, they were kissing. Hank got the door open and they went to take a shower first. After they were done in the shower, they finished getting ready for bed. They went into the other room, removed each other's robes, got on the bed, started kissing again and made love. Afterwards Hank had his arms wrapped around her and she had her head on his chest.
"Have I told you how amazing you are lately?"
"You probably have. I love hearing you say it though."
"You are the most amazing man in the entire world and I am so glad you're my husband and Noah's dad. I love you more and more every day."
"I love you too."
"We should do this more often."
"Yeah, we should. We may not be able to take the bike on a long road trip again until after winter but we may still be able to ride around the city as long as it isn't slippery."
"I love that idea."
"Good."
They kissed and made love again before they fell asleep in each other's arms. They spent as much time as they could in bed. The only time they basically left the room was to eat and when they decided to go for a walk along the beach and Hank had a surprise for her. They were looking to get a place there, so they had somewhere to get away to. They met with the Realtor and looked at it. They liked what they had seen, so they made an offer.
They headed back into the city after lunch on Sunday. Erin had picked up Noah, so he was home when they got back. They had all decided to go out for dinner that night and spent some quality time with their kids. Hank had gotten a call that their offer had been accepted. Once he hung up, he told Olivia, Erin and Noah. Everyone was excited that they would have a place outside the city.
Olivia wasn't ready to head back to work on Monday but they had had a relaxing weekend alone, which they both knew they needed every once in a while.
