The mundane has a strange way of washing away moments of significance, worry, pushing memories aside to make way for the ordinary.

The couple of weeks leading up to Bree's birthday are nearly chaotic. The bionic girl is throwing herself a party, and Skylar is rather enthusiastic to help. Apparently the only other parties the chalderan got to throw ended up with goat bladder balloons, and being turned evil by some villain called the Annihilator.

Oliver spends far too long agonizing over his present, and treats the whole endeavor with the paranoia that comes with having a girlfriend with superspeed and an invisibility app. Kaz amuses himself by trying to sabotage Oliver's efforts. Korkie, on the other hand, hiding behind his aristocratic demeanor, has been setting up increasingly more elaborate pranks on the pyrokinetic, but shifting the evidence to appear other team members were behind them. Kaz has yet to suspect the real culprit.

Chase enrolls as a part-time student at a local university. Most of the courses are online, to accommodate the Elite Force schedule, but one he attends in person. A particular project means he's spent more time at the library working with another student.

The lack of his presence leads to the antics of the three remaining guys to amplify. Which presents hazards for the two party planners.

Ahsoka closes the door to her room, sitting cross-legged on the floor. She breathes deeply, centering herself. She has a few hours before she has to accompany Bree on some errands, enough time to finally meditate.

She's been doing it less and less frequently over the past couple of years. Ever since she left the Order, she's been plagued with the same erratic, haunting visions that she struggles to understand. But even as disturbing and unsettled as they make her, she won't be able to solve them by hiding.

The togruta closes her eyes, reaching out, her senses sharpening, broadening, looking out beyond her time and space. And the images, voices, rushed and stilted in a kaleidoscope of horror…

A deafening crash sounds from downstairs.

Startled, Ahsoka jumps to her feet, throws open her door and runs quickly down the stairs. She considers calling out "What happened?" but if they're under attack…

She stops as she takes in the living room.

Truth be told, she's not sure exactly what's broken, but the glass and rubble is strewn across the entire floor. Korkie and Kaz stand in the midst of it, the former clearly horrified and guilt-ridden while the latter seems barely perturbed.

Bree's eyes glaze with fury. "That's it! I want the two of you out of the penthouse, now!"

The mandalorian walks shamefully in compliance. Kaz shrugs his shoulders and seems mildly relieved to have gotten away with not having to clean their mess up.

Ahsoka sighs, shaking her head and hiding an amused smile as the two culprits walk out the door. She steps out into the room, careful not to step in the glass. "Here Bree, let me help you with that."

"That's a good direction, but I think we need to be careful not to overdo the outside sources. The comparisons to the other creation accounts should be used to highlight the change of them in Metamorphoses, not to be an end in and of themselves," Chase cautions, looking over their presentation.

"I get your point, but if we emphasize the personhood and ambiguous role of Ovid's creator compared to the other myths, we'll be able to make that point more clearly," his partner counters, adjusting her glasses.

"I wasn't disagreeing with that; just don't go overboard. If there's anything being at the Bionic Academy has taught me is that it's easy to lose and bore your audience."

She leans back, laugh quietly. "You know, I keep forgetting you're bionic. Studying together just seems so…normal." She shrugs.

"Normal? I don't think I've heard anyone use that word to describe Chase," a voice interjects.

Chase turns abruptly around, rolls his eyes when he sees Kaz and Korkie standing behind them. "What are you doing here?"

"Bree kicked us out."

"There was an accident," Korkie sheepishly explains.

"A hilarious accident." And Korkie smacks Kaz's arm.

Chase crosses his arms. "That doesn't explain what you're doing here."

"I came to find a quiet place to read, and Kaz knew you were here studying so he came to bug you."

"But I had no idea you had kidnapped someone in the process," Kaz jokes, gesturing to the girl seated across from him. She raises an eyebrow.

Chase sighs. "This is Reese. We're in the same class and working on a project that's due in two days so we're very busy. Goodbye."

"Well, I'm Kaz," the pyrokinetic greets, ignoring Chase's hint and extending his hand to Reese. "Single and ready to rescue you from this boredom fest with a fancy romantic dinner."

She blinks, incredulous. "No thanks."

Kaz shrugs, accepts defeat, while Korkie looks over his shoulder at their schoolwork. "Ovid's Metamorphoses. You're studying the Roman classics?"

"Yes," Reese affirms. "You've read them?"

"Only recently. To be honest I much preferred The Aeneid over Metamorphoses."

"Absolutely. Aeneas' dedication to duty is something you can actually admire."

"The tale of a true warrior."

"Indeed," Reese agrees, and she smiles. "Chase and I have to get back to work, but maybe you and I could meet up sometime and talk more in detail about it?"

Korkie smiles in return. "I look forward to it."

She quickly grabs a sticky-note and jots something down. She hands it to him. "My number," she explains.

Kaz's jaw hangs open in shock. "I can't believe a cute girl actually flirted with you over me."

Chase just laughs.
