(AKA the EG Cutscenes edition!)
Mission (related) Cutscenes 2!
Even with the employee from the research department in the room the mastermind of the criminal organization was taking his mind to ponder his end goal—of how to get back home, as well as a begrudging backup plan should his methods ultimately fail.
"Tell me," he says as he addressed his employee whilst the mastermind hand his hands were once again steepled in their upside-down fashion, "has there been any research involving the union between magic and science?"
The scientist hummed. "Tough to say. People nowadays have to be constantly reminded that magic does in fact exist in this day and age. I would say the only ones who outright take it seriously now would be SMASH with their frequent encounters with Moko and Montezuma's apprentices. As such aside from documents and research surviving the events of World War Two then your best bet for a dedicated project would lie with SMASH's government."
"Hm. It's a start. But please keep your ears open if other avenues present themselves."
"Understood, sir."

(The Flying Pig)
In the hallway the leader of TOE was staring at a worker...
"Remind me again why we did this again?"
"Well, sir, it was suggested that to help spread influence within our expanding operations you needed 'cred' and..."
Normally he would've restrained himself so as to not be rude but he was too exasperated at the moment. As he ended up interrupting his employee with an explosive sigh as he clutched at the top of his helmet. "Sorry. Just... a living animal would've been more... credible than one of those rides."
"Look at it this way, boss, it's not your fault. All the mentions in the newspaper were really ambiguous. No one could've known."
"And yet it's still embarrassing, even to me despite ordering it," he sighed before straightening himself and pointing out his arm in a commanding presence. "Still we can't let this stop us. We'll just have to find more reliable sources. Conduct new raids. Engage in... are you even listening to me?"
The worker looked more excited than respectful. "Sorry, boss. It's just that... the ride does look kind of fun and the line's getting kind of long."
Immediately Izuku was clutching at his helmeted head. "Fine. Just... try not to brag about this to the other criminal groups out there?"

(Syrup for soul)
"Anything?" Izuku simply asked. He trusted the worker in front of him to know what his employer was talking about.
"No, boss. But they want you to know that they're "very sorry" about the damage they caused."
"They're "very sorry"?" he asked slowly. "Are... are they being facetious?"
"No, boss. We thought it sounded funny too. Want us to rough 'em up some more?"
"Hrm. No. They had enough. Tell me, are the mind wipers operational yet?"
"No, boss. The blokes in the lab are still tinkering with them to get rid of the taste of Friday and keep people from thinking today is Purple as oppose to.. well, Friday."
"Right then. The brainwashing stations?"
"Those are up and running sir."
"Good enough I suppose. Now onto the maple matter. Seeing as this particular avenue hasn't bore fruit we'll have to aim higher. It's time the, and I can't believe I'm saying this," he mutters with a hand on his helmet, "top maple scientist pays us a visit."
He then straightened up, his hands an inverse steeple once again. "Should all things go as planned PATRIOT will no longer have a monopoly on maple syrup!"
The worker began to bounce in place while throwing a pair of thumbs up in the teenager's direction. "And we'll have all the maple syrup we'll want!"
"That too."

(PATRIOT Gains)
"I take it the negotiations didn't go well?"
"I'm sorry sir," the scientist before him cringed. "They didn't believe us in the slightest despite the proof you had us dig up."
The teenager hummed. "Shame," he sighed. "And I gave them such a generous offer too. Twenty-Eighty in their favor in what was likely to be artifacts far more valuable than most treasuries would dare put a price on."
He sighed again. "I wasn't keen on doing this but I suppose we'll have to steal the Declaration after all."
"Very good, sir. Is there anything else then?" the scientist asked as she regained her confidence.
"I don't suppose you happen to know if we'll be facing treasure hunters on this, do you?"
XVX
(The Sword in the Stone)
"What the—grn! Why is everything on fire!? Rather why is that sword on fire!? That is not a normal thing for swords to do!" Izuku yelled, arm behind his back as his hand pointed accusingly at the terrified worker before him.
"We didn't know it'd do that, boss! We think whatever wizard put it in the stone went ahead and probably cursed it too!"
"O-of course," Izuku grumbled as he palmed his helmet. "I should've seen that coming. No magical artifact worth its salt is blatantly unguarded without due cause." He straightened himself and steepled his hands in thought. "Merlin certainly thought far ahead into a future that someone might try to use the sword for their own ends..."
"Hmmm. There's an idea, the future!" Izuku bounced in place, his head bobbing in rhythem as well before tilting back as if laughing. "You'd be amazed how mundane solutions of today can thwart ancient spellwork! Call up the labs for me to see if they have any compounds that might work! If that fails then we're going to pay HAMMER a visit to see what they had in store for our dilemma!"
XVX
(Time in a bottle)
"Are you familiar with the Sands of Time?" Izuku asked the scientist before him.
"Well, some say time is like a river... but I know different. It's a bunch of sand in a large hourglass."
"... I meant the arcane artifact literally named The Sands of Time."
At this she turned sheepish. "My mistake!"
She clears her throat. "They're an ancient and mysterious artifact that's been missing for centuries. Tracking it down would be very difficult."
"As is the nature of any worthwhile pursuit," Izuku hummed. "If nothing else we might at least stumble on something useful along the way."
XVX
"So did we uncover anything from SMASH's laboratories and occult dens?" Izuku asked the scientist before him.
"Yes and no, boss," she answered with a grimace.
"What we recovered so far was, tragically, more along the lines of basic materials and tenants of magic. You know, be kind to others. Lend a helping hand. Friends help their friends..."
"..." Izuku palmed his helmet's forehead. "Friendship is magic. Really?"
"Erm... yes, boss," the scientist answered as she squirmed in place.
"Please tell me that wasn't all. As in that wasn't the entirety of SMASH's research."
"It isn't, boss. It was just one of the... less secure facilities they had. If we want to get to the others, well..."
"We would need greater manpower and more skilled help, is that it?" Izuku asked as his hands were once more brought to their meditative state.
"Yes sir," the scientist replied as she stood at a casual form of attention.
"Very well," Izuku sighed. "If needs must."
XVX
(The biologist)
"Boss, we need to talk."
"I'm not increasing the budget again. Especially after that last disaster."
The scientist sighs. "This might actually be unavoidable, boss"
"Fine," Izuku sighed, "I'll hear you out. I make no promises however."
The scientist nodded. "Simply put we're brushing up against the limits of our capabilities. It's time to explore new branches of science if we are to improve."
The teenager sighed as he palmed the top of his helmet. "Send me the report. I'll make a decision afterwards."
(One (begrudging) decision afterwards)
"Biology, not exactly a field I would've expected as a necessity to our situation."
Standing before him and covered in a sealed off hazard suit that left only the head and neck exposed by virtue of a green tinted glass helmet surrounding it the man made his case. "Every field of science requires intense study and great consideration in its calculations. Especially in the matters a fickle as life and how it interacts with its environment."
"I suppose," Izuku noncommittally hummed. "I'm still watching the budget though."
"Drat."
XVX
(The Socialite)
"Sir, we have a problem," a valet informed the mastermind in the casino. "The casino is crawling with tourists. They're everywhere. We've no place left to hide!"
"No offense but I fail to see the problem with that per se," Izuku replied as he brought a hand up to cup his covered chin, a finger tapping it. "Is it a staffing issue?"
"No—actually that would help a bit. But no. The problem is that we can't get to the agents! More and more of them are slipping through before we can get to them."
"That is a problem," the teenager hummed, his form straightened. "Very well. I'll allocated more members to the staff to help in the short term. Hopefully that'll take care of matters until a more appropriate team is assembled."
"I wonder how well celebrities can teach our staff."
(One surprisingly successful class later)
"Ah. I see you wondered into the... employees only section. (Aside as a horse whisper) Pst! Get the amnestics!"
"Actually, boss, I'm one of your staff," the flamboyantly dressed woman in a feathered purple with golden jewelry stated.
"Oh? Oh! Sorry. I didn't recognize you. I take it no problems have arisen?"
"None whatsoever. Everything so far as been going swimmingly."
"Good. Please keep it that way for as long as possible."
XVX
(The mercenary)
"I trust you know why you're here?"
As opposed to being fearful into being called to the armory on her boss' direct order the guard was ecstatic. "I sure do, boss! We got 'em real good! Larry shot him. So did Radhika and Otis. Then we all punched him a bit."
The mastermind's arm shot out. "You also got a number of holes in the walls. Plus on reviewing the footage it was that exact bad aiming that also caused that explosion in the lab in the first place! You were trained better than that, weren't you?"
At this point the guard was confused. "Trained? You mean like learned? Like a teacher would do? We ain't no nerds, boss."
TOE's leader palmed his helmet in exasperation. "Congratulations. You just guaranteed I'll be hiring someone to teach you."
(One training montage later)
"I trust everything is in order?"
"Indeed, sir!" a man predominantly in orange eagerly answered as he bounced in place. The only other splashes of color came from his black shades, red barrette and the red satchels attached to the brown leather harness on his person. "Keep the cash coming and we'll give you results!"
"Fine. That works for me. And in turn so do you."
