It was the day after Senji had made Jounetsu Muramasa, and there were some problems with it. well not really a problem with the blade but rather with the user. For one Senji soon realized that he lacks the divinity required to use it efficiently. Its not that he cant use it, but he wont be able to use it for very long without tiring himself out.
'I guess your my trump card for now huh' thought Senji looking at his completed blade, he added the Tsuka yesterday after calming down his cabin mates. Charles and his other siblings are now trying to one up Senji, with no success so far not like that will stop them from trying. He did ask them not to tell the other campers, though he knows that eventually the word will get out.
'how do I carry this though? it burns all the sheaths I try to put it in" thinks Senji as he looks around for any ideas. its when he feels the different weight in his hand that he looks down as the blade, only to find the blade to be gone and in its place the crystal orb with the fire in it. Senji looks intently at that orb and he will's it to turn back into the blade and the crystal cracks open and the fire forms back into the katana.
"neat, so its like riptide in that respect" spoke Senji with a smile, now he needs to make sure he doesn't lose it. he takes a hammer from a near by work bench and focuses on the enchantment he learned from riptide, the one that makes that pen always return to the owners pockets. The hammer flows a faint red as he strikes the sword and the enchantment takes effect.
Senji then turns the katana back into the orb and puts it in his right pocket, then he decides to see if there's any news about Percy. So he heads out of the forge and to the big house, when there he finds a worried Chiron.
"There's no reason to be worried about there safety if that's what's bothering you Sir" spoke Senji respectfully, as he entered his line of sight.
"ah Senji, its good to see you. I'm more worried if they can accomplish this task that has been laid on there shoulders" said Chiron expressing his concerns.
"Its quite the quest for there first time, but I'm feeling a little optimistic that Percy will surprise all of us." said Senji, for even if he can somewhat see fate that doesn't mean he knows how it will happen.
"yes, over all my years I have seen many feats done by children of the big three. But even knowing that i cant help but be worried" spoke Chiron as he trotted in place.
"Its because you care for them I suppose, like how I never want to see one of my blades broken. well I guess we just have to wait for them to come back" said Senji before he excused himself from Chiron's company.
Chiron is like a father for most demigods, he cares for them and natures them to the best of his ability's. Senji mostly missed out on this, for he spends most of his time in the forge. But when he first started Training to use a katana Chiron pointed out the weak spots in his form, however Chiron knows little about katanas and couldn't help much more than that.
Senji however is thankful for everything he can get concerning how to use a katana, for he knows even less about its fighting style then Chiron so he had to make his own style. Which basically means he go's with the flow. Senji was about to head to the forest outside camp Halfblood when he bumped into someone.
"hey! watch where your going" nearly screamed that someone. Senji now distracted from his thoughts looked at the girl he ran into, he saw that she was a girl of Japanese descent with dark hair in ringlets, warm brown eyes, plenty of jewelry and perfect makeup. She wears lots of pink eyeliner.
"sorry about that I was distracted, are you okay" asked Senji in concern. The girl looked at him in irritation before she took in his feature's.
"huh yeah I'm fine, I'm Drew Tanaka what's yours handsome" said Drew as she fluttered her eyelash's.
"I'm Senji Muramasa, and if your okay then I have to get going" spoke Senji, and before Drew could stop him he was already out of sight.
'what was that, he completely ignored my charm speak' though Drew with astonishment and a good bit of annoyance.
Senji continued on to the forest already forgetting his encounter with the daughter of Aphrodite, he has his mind set on more important matters. Like trying out his new weapon, for he needs to know how long he can use it before his stamina is gone. Once he arrived by the river in the forest he began his experiment.
Senji pulled the orb out of his pocket and willed it to transform, an in a flash of fire the katana was in his grip. He did a simple overhead vertical slash, flames burst from the blade and followed the sword. He felt the drain already but it was slow, meaning he could do a bit more before he had to stop.
He found that the more intent he put behind the blade the more intense the flames thus requiring more stamina. It remined he of weights, he needed to build up muscles he has never used before. He did a series of normal fire slashes and found he could do them for ten minutes before he was completely drained.
'maybe this is what Percy felt when he first manipulated water' thought Senji. He was lucky that his divine parent had a affinity with fire, or this probably would of been harder for him. So this is what he did for the next two days, he went back to the river and practiced this new muscle in the hopes he can last longer with it in a real fight.
Over those days he noticed he has gone up from doing ten minutes and needing to relax for thirty minutes, To being able to go twelve and a half minutes and having to relax for 27 minutes.
But his training did not go unnoticed, a blonde harried teenager watched on in fascination and horror wondering how to use this to his lords advantage.
