"Freeze!"
The range of the spell was strong enough for Elise to stay behind with a few of our banner. It would also be good for her retainers to catch up to her in a position where she would be moving slower.
"Let's go, my dear retainers!"
Camilla, her retainers, and the rest of the force would be dealing with the frozen rock throwers.
"Saddle up, Leo! Up the hill! Gunter! Captain! You're with us, too!"
"Yes, Brother!"
"We're with you, Prince Xander!"
Leo, Gunter, Captain Hans and I I would be working our way up the hill.
Hang in there, Weiss! We're coming!
…
Our backs against the castle. Thank goodness they weren't coming up from behind.
With or without Iago, we'll be fighting with what we have.
Only a few archers left. And then we had the pikemen loosen formation with the rest of our fighters to cover the space between.
Everyone was off that wall as the monsters prepared to break in.
The walls were taking rock after rock-they won't be holding for long.
We were hunkered down in the courtyard. It would be one final push.
If I die here, at least I went down fighting.
Something was happening to the ground.
"Hold positions!"
Something was pulling that monster, and that monster, and the other monsters off the wall.
Roots bursting from the ground, and all the monsters in the courtyard were being pulled down.
Suddenly, the enemies that were at the gate were cut aside.
Xander and Leo came to the rescue. Captain and Gunter were there as well, and they joined us on the line. All but Xander. Near the fountain, he reared his horse and brought his sword skywards. A strange power emanated from him and surrounded the fountain, causing it to shoot water even higher than it did before. A strange warmth filled my soul, as if reviving me with new energy.
"Charge!" Xander shouted.
We all shouted for the battle to continue and end on our terms.
The renewed strength allowed me to cut more of those monsters down, and by some miracle, the monsters were in full retreat-it was raining in the middle of winter, and the rain was warming us and burning them.

Short one for today, but glad to get something out, especially after having to battle a graduate studies project. I do have a good idea in mind for what the other chapters will be beyond this one.
