Harry yawned and snuggled back down in bed. Draco was snoring next to him and he took a minute to gaze at him. He had gone through another growth spurt and Harry was slightly jealous. Draco was now one of the tallest boys in their year! Harry wanted to grow. Maybe he would add a slight heel to his shoes to give him an extra inch. Even Hermione was taller than him. It was ridiculous, thanks Aunt Petunia he thought sarcastically. He was worried he'd feel guilty about the Dursleys getting Kissed but he didn't feel anything. It had taken dozens of talks with Draco before he could admit what they had put him through was wrong. They had an extra room, why had he been shoved in a cupboard for ten years? If it had happened to any of his friends, he would be furious so why shouldn't he feel the same way for himself? The Dursleys were terrible people and they got what they deserved.
"Good morning, my love." Draco's voice broke him out of his thoughts. He leaned forward and kissed his nose.
"Good morning, my shining star." He watched Draco blush and beamed. A growl broke their little moment and they peaked over the side of the bed to see Snappy trying to climb up. He dug his claws in the blanket and got halfway before he slid back down.
"Mama! Mama! Help Snappy. He's stuck." The baby crocodile gave a wail from the ground. Draco scooped him up and settled Snappy between them.
"Daddy! I love Daddy." He flicked his tongue out and licked Draco's cheek. Harry giggled and hissed "Daddy and mama love you too." They spent the next hour in bed in a giant cuddle pile.
"Harry! You're going to be late for breakfast." His dorm mate shouted and Harry reluctantly pulled his curtains back.
"Oh! Hi Malfoy. Snappy, how are you?" Ernie reached out to pet the crocodile and he preened as he rolled on his back.
"Thanks Ernie! I'll catch you later." They got ready and Draco strapped Snappy to his chest. He took his hand and they walked towards the Great Hall, stopping every few steps to let students squeal over how cute Snappy was.
"Malfoy! Let me see my godson!" Ron shouted from the Gryffindor table and they made their way over to him. Ron picked Snappy up and started feeding him little pieces of bacon. Draco kissed the back of his hand and started filling up a plate for him. They were so cute!"
Draco looked at his Father. Valentine's Day was tomorrow and they were going to bake some treats together for the first time in eight years. The last time Draco had stepped in a kitchen, he had set half of the manor on fire. He was determined to show Harry he could provide for him in every way, including baking him sweets.
"Alright son, the first thing we're going to do is measure the ingredients." Draco slowly scooped the flour and dumped it in a bowl. It ended up going everywhere and he sneezed loudly.
"That's okay, son! You need to crack a few eggs to make an omelette."
"Father, I'm making cookies, not omelettes." Maybe he should have asked Uncle Severus for help.
"Yes Draco, I know. The next step is to preheat the oven. You want to wait for it to warm up before we put the cookies in." Draco turned the dial and froze when it fell off.
"Uh, is it supposed to do that?" His Father blinked before shoving it back on.
"That's probably fine. Alright I want you to mix the ingredients together." Draco did as he was told and gave a smile when nothing bad happened.
"Wonderful job, my son!" Maybe he wasn't terrible at baking!
He stared at the burnt cookies and sighed. It was the Black blood. His mum couldn't cook and neither could Lord Black. Legend has it that a Black ancestor tried making pie and it was so terrible, they turned Mad. The rest of the family was infected and it was passed on to every Black member since.
"Don't lose hope, Draco! We'll get it!" He hugged his Father and pretended he didn't see him discreetly wipe his eyes.
"Thank you, Father. Let's keep trying." He rolled up his sleeves and got to work. If it was for Harry, he was willing to do anything.
Narcissa snuck into the castle. Harry had written to her with a wonderful idea for Valentine's Day and she couldn't wait to see Draco and Lucius' faces.
"Hi Cissy! What are you doing here so early?" Andy asked as she straightened her blouse. She looked around and saw a foot sticking out from behind her sister's desk.
"Hello Andy! Hi Ted! Sorry for the interruption, I'm waiting for Harry to arrive." Ted sheepishly stood up and cleared his throat.
"Hello Narcissa, I'm glad to see you're doing well." She hadn't liked Ted Tonks in school but she had gotten over it for her sister. As an adult, she found they shared a love of history and they would debate for hours.
"Thank you, Ted. I hope you've been staying out of trouble." She joked and he laughed. Unfortunately Ted was as clumsy as her niece and she couldn't count how many times she had found him injured.
"Oh Cissy! You won't believe it. The students have started a petition to change the school mascot to Snappy." The two Black sisters cackled together. She bet the old man was fuming in his office.
"Have you seen the boys carry him around? It's the cutest thing ever. Harry sent me a copy of their family photos and I swear Lucius cried." There was a knock on the door and Harry whispered "Mummy Malfoy, are you there?" She yanked the door open and swept him into a crushing hug. Since Lucius was filling in as the Defense Professor, she had been rather lonley. Of course Sirius had changed that. They now spent every other day together, working out or shopping. It was nice to connect with her cousin.
"I've missed you so much, darling." She waved goodbye to Andy and Tonks before following Harry down the corridor. He stopped in front of a portrait of an opera singer.
"Hi ma'am, would you please let me in?" The woman looked at him before saying "Harry dear, how are you? Happy Valentine's Day!" Harry smiled at her and replied back "thank you! Happy Valentine's Day to you too!" The picture swung open to reveal a gold and red common room.
"Harry, is this the Gryfindor common room?" He pulled her inside and said "yes! Ron has my wings. He made them out of real feathers!" The Gryffindor students called out greetings to Harry.
"We can't wait to see what you've come up with, Harry!" Percy Weasley said from the lap of Marcus Flint. They reached the boys dorms and Ron Weasley was putting the finishing touches on their wings.
"Hi Mrs. Malfoy! Do you want to try them on real quick? I want to make sure everything fits like it should." She slipped them over her shoulders and marveled at the design.
"You've done an excellent job, Ron. If you ever want to start an apprenticeship somewhere, the Malfoy family will sponsor you." He blushed and muttered "Thank you ma'am."
"Now Harry, let's get your hair ready!"
Severus wrapped himself around Sirius and pretended to still be asleep. They had a lovely dinner and spent the rest of the night in bed.
"Sev babe, I know you're awake." Sirius laughed beside him. He cracked an eye open and was greeted with the beautiful sight of his lover. His hair was tangled around his face and his tattoos were exposed.
"I have to get back to Hogwarts." He sighed and Sirius gave him a sly grin.
"I don't see why I can't come with you, I am a board member after all." He sat straight up and the sheet pooled around his waist.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea! We can have breakfast there too." Sirius gave him a heated look and murmured "perhaps it could wait a moment."
They finally managed to make it to the Great Hall and he was relieved to see only Hermione and a handful of Ravenclaw students were present. He didn't need any inappropriate rumors starting.
"Hello Mr. Black! I like your sweater!" Sirius had charmed his sweater to flash hearts on repeat.
"Thank you, Herm!" They sat at the head table and Minerva gave them a look.
"Hello Mr. Black. It's nice to see you." Sirius snorted and said "you don't have to lie, Minnie!" Her eyes were sparkling as she commented back "I'm glad Severus has found someone to help loosen him up." He choked on his coffee as the two Gryffindor's laughed. Lucius plopped down on his other side and sighed.
"Cissy has been ignoring my floo calls all morning! Do you think she's mad at me?" He wailed into his handkerchief.
"I'm sure she's just busy." Severus said and his friend's lip began trembling.
"We've spent every Valentine's Day together since second year, Sev!" The students were finally filing in and he could see Draco looking around for Harry. Breakfast was halfway over when the doors to the Great Hall were flung open. He felt his mouth drop as he took in Narcissa and Harry. They had giant angel wings strapped to their backs. They had flowing white robes with gleaming crowns on their heads. Harry had a basket and he was throwing flower petals as he walked towards Draco. He looked at Lucius and he had hearts in his eyes.
"Harry my love, I didn't know how you would top last year but I see now. You've finally shown your true form and this mere mortal shall bask in your glow." He tuned Draco out before he started gagging. Cissy strutted up to Lucius and said "Harry had the wonderful idea of dressing up as Angels of Love this year and asked me to join him. Happy Valentine's Day, my love." Lucius threw himself over the table and kissed his wife passionately. He had managed to grab his coffee before the idiot knocked the whole table over.
"Ah yes, Happy Valentine's Day." Severus said sarcastically.
