Draco dodged to the side as Sirius flung a bone crushing curse at him.
"Oi! That almost hit my leg." The older man laughed and said "Good thing you have another one!" Draco concentrated on the duel to take his mind off of Harry. His darling boyfriend had spent the summer in France with the Delacour's. Their two families had only gotten closer over the years. Fleur had an internship with the goblins so she could see Ron on the weekends. Harry's last letter had gushed about the dragons the goblins kept deep underground. A leg binding jinx hit him straight in the chest and he collapsed to the ground.
"Focus, Draco." Sirius said firmly before releasing the spell. Daco stayed where he was as he stared up at the ceiling.
"Ugh, I miss Harry." He whined and Sirius flopped down beside him.
"I miss him too, kid. At least he'll be home soon." They would be starting their seventh year in a week and Draco couldn't believe how quickly their school years had gone by. Tonks and Diggory had moved in together as soon as they graduated Hogwarts. Tonks was working on becoming an Auror while Diggory owned the joke shop with the twins. They had started selling joke supplies under the table their sixth year, much to Herm's frustration. Diggory had helped fund their experiments and the rest was history. Draco still thought pretty boy Diggory had a thing for Harry but he usually left the Hufflepuff boy alone. The most surprising thing was Marcy. Percy Weasley married Marcus Flint during their graduation ceremony. Headmistress McGonagall had to stop her speech because everyone had been so focused on their vows. Molly Weasley had fainted as her son slipped a ring on Flint's finger. It has been hilarious. Stomping caught his attention as Snappy toddled into the dueling chamber. His son was now twenty feet long. Harry had been devastated when he could no longer carry him around. Snappy hissed at him before cuddling up to his side.
"Mummy will be back soon." He reassured him before sighing. He couldn't remember the last time they had been apart for so long. The door was thrown open and his Father came running in.
"What are you doing? Get up! Harry's coming home early!" He shouted before leaving. They could hear him yelling down the hall at Severus. Draco's heart was racing as he jumped up.
"He didn't say anything in his last letter!" He quickly showered before racing down the stairs to join everyone in front of the floo.
"Oh, I can't wait to have Harry home! He was bragging about a growth spurt so we'll have to go shopping!" His Mother squealed as she straightened her hair before calling out "Ministry of Magic!" He shoved his Father out of the way before following her. He stalked out of the floo and made a beeline for the elevators. He was suddenly thrown off his feet as Sirius ran by in his dog form with his Father holding tightly to his fur. Draco was quick to chase after them. He turned the ground into ice and gave them a smug smile as they flew into the fountain. He was suddenly hanging upside down by his ankle. His Father was dripping wet as he slid by
with Sirius right behind him. Draco narrowed his eyes. He had to be the first one to greet Harry!
"Now would someone like to explain what in Merlin's name is going on?" Alastor Moody's magical eye was twirling in his socket and Draco couldn't stop staring at it. Tonks was grinning at them from his side.
"Sirius and Father started it! My fiancé is coming home from France today and I came to greet him but they started throwing spells at me!" He declared and Sirius reached over to twist his ear.
"Shut it, brat! You're the one who started it." As they broke into an argument, he saw his Father try to slowly inch away.
"Sit down, Lord Malfoy." Moody snapped and his Father plopped down in his seat with a scowl.
"Moody, my sweet son is coming home! I have to go greet him! I can't imagine how heartbroken he will be if we're not there to pick him up." Draco gave Tonks a pleading look.
"Well maybe you should have thought about that before you started throwing spells in the Ministry! You knocked over the statue in the fountain-" "I thought it was an improvement" Sirius muttered under his breath. "-injured fifteen people and spelled the hair off the Minister's head!" They stared at Moody before Draco asked "So can we just pay the fine and leave? Harry is going to be here any moment!" Sirius already had his checkbook out. Draco nodded his head approvingly as he handed Moody a blank check.
"That should cover the damage!" They waited for Moody to release them.
"Oh for Merlin's sake, get out of here. Tonks, please escort these idiots to the transportation department." Draco quickly hopped up and followed his Cousin out of the holding cell. As soon as they were out of ear shot, she howled with laughter.
"Cedric won't believe this! When I saw the Minister's bald head, I thought I was going to pee my pants." She cackled loudly. Draco nudged her along and they were finally at the pickup area. He saw his Mother and Uncle waiting patiently and joined them.
"Well look who it is, Severus! Our criminals finally joined us." She joked and he gave them a nasty look.
"You three will be cleaning cauldrons when we get home. I can't believe the scene you caused." He hissed at them and Draco watched Sirius give him a devastated look.
"Babe! I hate cleaning cauldrons!" He cried out and Severus glared at him.
"Actions have consequences!" He caught a glimpse of black hair and grabbed onto his Father as Harry came into view. His sweet husband did have a growth spurt. His hair was in two buns on top of his head and he was wearing one of Draco's old shirts. His face was all angles and his eyes stood out like two shining jewels. Draco was used to his nose bleeds, so he ignored them as he watched Harry's eyes light up once he saw them.
"Draco!" He shouted and they both broke into a run at the same time. As he held Harry tightly, he whispered "welcome home, my heart."
Hermione walked down Diagon Alley as she looked for her friends. Harry was finally back from his trip abroad and she couldn't wait to see him. Draco had been terribly upset at his absence and she was happy her favorite couple was back together again.
"Is a goddess walking among us?" A voice called out from in front of her.
"I think so, Fred! Nothing else would be able to describe the beauty we see." George said as they both grinned at her. She rolled her eyes at them but stopped walking.
"You're both ridiculous." She leaned forward to give them both a kiss as Cedric waved at her from inside.
"Harry's back today." She told them and they both let out sighs of relief.
"Thank Merlin! He can never leave again. Draco was an absolute nightmare." She couldn't disagree.
"Herm!" Harry cried out as he pushed the shop door open. She cooed at how cute he looked. He had on denim shorts with a graphic tee.
"Harry!" They shared a group hug before they sat down to talk about their summers. Ron had started an apprenticeship with Madam Malkin and Ginny was visiting Daphne's family. Neville had gone on a trip with Luna as they tried to discover a new type of magical algae. It would be nice once they were all together again.
"Harbear! Is that a snake in your pants or are you just happy to see me?" Fred flirted and she saw Draco go for his wand. Harry dug under his shirt to pull out a tiny orange snake and laughed.
"I found her in Paris! She's been rather clingy so it's easier to just keep her on me." Hermine giggled at Fred's face. He obviously hadn't expected Harry to actually pull a snake out of his trousers.
"Herm, keep a muzzle on your idiot." Draco muttered and Harry elbowed him.
"We should go window shopping!" He said and Hermione was quick to agree. She had thirteen new notebooks, but she could always use more. The rest of the day was spent laughing with her friends as Harry told them all about his adventures in France.
Hermione shrank her trunk before walking through the platform. It was finally the first last day of school! She scanned the area and found Neville standing beside his Gran.
"Nev!" She shouted before picking him up in excitement. He had gotten a lovely tan over the summer and had filled out nicely.
"Hi Vice President! Good to see you." He said and his Gran rolled her eyes at his tone.
"Neville, be good this year. I'll see you at Yule." She hugged him before leaving.
"Gran gets embarrassed by people showing too much emotion." He explained before picking up his trunk. She gave him a sly smile.
"I heard that your Gran kills a vulture every year so she can have a new hat." Neville looked shocked before he commented back.
"Don't be ridiculous, Herm! It's only every ten years."
Harry sighed as Draco played with his hair. He had enjoyed his time in France but wouldn't do it again without his boyfriend. He had missed everyone terribly. He looked up at Draco from underneath his eyelashes as he laughed at something Ron had said. He looked beautiful as the sunlight shone behind him. Harry had already seen some of the other students give his love a second look and wouldn't stand for it. He stood up before stretching.
"I'll be right back." He was trying to find the Trolley witch. Kreature had put his foot down and started limiting his desserts. He walked around the corner and ran into someone.
"Oh! Hi, Harry." Pansy said as she helped him up. Her hair was in a stylish bob and she had a cute snake clip holding part of it back.
"Hi, Pans! Have you seen the Trolley witch?" She gave him a sympathetic look.
"Sorry, love. Kreature said if any of us helped you, he'd bury us up to our heads in sand and let the birds peck out our eyes." Harry pouted as she left. He only had three slices of cake and five cookies this morning ! He was about to start wasting away.
"-aco Malfoy looks so good this year! I wonder if he'd want to go on a date next weekend?" Harry peeked through the window and saw a group of sixth years talking amongst themselves.
"I wouldn't hold your breath! He only has eyes for Potter." Harry preened at the compliment.
"I still think their relationship is fake! There is no way they can be so in love. I bet they'll break up after graduation and then I'll swoop in." The random boy froze as he saw Harry fogging up the glass as he scowled at him. The other students held their hands up before one of them cried out "Please forgive him! He was just joking." Harry slowly slid the door open before joining them.
"Please continue talking. I'm very curious as to what would happen next." He purred and the boy turned a sickly shade of white.
"I w-w-would convince you two to g-get back together." He stuttered out and Harry hummed to himself before standing up. He leaned over the boy and flicked his forehead.
"If I see you sniffing around my boyfriend, I will drag you to the Great Lake and let the merpeople feast on your body. Do you understand me?" He was shivering as he tried to scoot backwards.
"Yes!" Harry smiled brightly at them before stealing their pile of sweets.
"Wonderful! I hope you have a good year." He skipped back to his compartment.
"Harry! You know Kreature is going to have a tizzy if he finds out you were eating candy." Draco said as he pulled him into his lap.
"You won't tell him, right?" He made sure to widen his eyes as he asked. Draco tried to fight his puppy dog look but failed.
"I would be happy to let birds peck my eyes out for you, my sweet." The rest of the train ride passed by quickly and they were soon seated at their table. The Headmistress brought in the Sorting Hat and it started singing. They had all been surprised to see it appear on McGonagall's desk the next as if nothing had happened.
"Do you know how many former Headmaster's had tried to kill me? Too many to count! The Founder's had made sure I was immune to the killing curse. It's a shame I didn't even get to see my own funeral. Perhaps we can do it again?" Cedric had been the first one to shove it in an empty desk drawer.
"Welcome back, students! I hope you all have a wonderful year." Professor McGonagall said before food appeared on the tables. Harry could see Daddy Malfoy flicking peas at Aunt Andy and giggled. It was good to be back.
