Disclaimer:

After reading the book and the musical of Wicked, what else could I do? Someone needs to combine the two of them in the way I like best, so I thought I should do it! I know I'm dumb.:) (giggle) I thought of this idea one night while reading another book and it was like a movie playing in my head. You ever get that? But I'm off topic…

It starts off after the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba, has been melted. (sob) It's almost a sequel to the Wizard of Oz and Wicked except from Oz's point of view.

I really hope you enjoy it! Sorry it's kinda short. XX

Possible spoilers for those who have NOT read the book or the musical. Definite confusion for those who have read only one. :)

Profanity when character appropriate

The Beginning of the End

"Daddy Daddy Daddy! Guess what everyone is saying in town?"

"What my little pumpkin?" Boq smiled and swooped the tiny munchkin child off her feet, into the air and onto his lap. He snuggled his face into her bouncy golden locks, which made her face crinkle into an adorable grin, giggle and squirm to stare at her father.

"Daddy, they're all saying that the Wicked Witch of the West is dead!" the girl proclaimed excitedly, positive that she could make her father happy.

Ever since that skinny green woman with trash bag clothes had shown up at the house, brandishing a broom while wildly gibbering something about someone named Horrible and killing her, the girl's father had never been the same. Boq seemed to be lost in thought much of the time and would sleep in the field days on end. It was that behavior that had made the entire family suspect a spell at work.

No witch had the right to take such a wonderful life and suck out all of his spirit, the soul. Boq seemed dead on the inside and it all started with that green monster. But now that the green thing was gone for good, Boq would be back to normal and have his cheerful disposition back.

The munchkin child beamed and hugged her father tightly around his chest. Boq returned the embrace, thoughts clambering to straighten themselves out of the resent knot they had gotten themselves into. Since his last encounter with Elphaba, he had heard all sorts of rumors, none of which flattered his dear friend in the slightest. Many nights he stared at the stars and wondered whether she was safe. He didn't mean to alarm his family, though his late aloofness spread tension anyway. What would he do now? Well, first of all, he would put up a front of good cheer to ease his family of worry and then sent a note to Gal-, no it was Glinda now, straight away. She was a powerful and influential sorceress. She would know what to do. After all, Glinda had been Elphaba's roomie at Shiz.

Through the window, shafts of moonlight struck the cherry wood floor of the study. Plush deep purple recliners faced a handsome desk still draped in darkness. On the desk lay a dirty white envelope with a foreign stamp and small handwriting in blue ink. The top's ragged, quickly opened edges revealed a small bit of paper just large enough for a being with smaller-than-usual writing to scribble a short, important message:

Dear Glinda,

I'm sure you've heard the news. You have to do something. I trust in your judgment. Find out how it happened and reverse it, for Oz's sake and future.

Boq

From under the blanket of black covering the desk, a bead of water fell, almost as if it was a stray tear, onto the letter. The creak of a chair and a whisper so soft it was hardly audible was all that could be heard.

I will.

Now review! Review my pretties! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA (evil cackle)
