Tracing unknown want from the soul,
I hold you close to my heart,
But every treasure has a toll.
Happiness is what I gave up to find you.
Snow settled down, landing in a hanyou's silver hair. His youthful face looked worn as he stared at the miko in front of him. The miko's hair was long, her face cold with no emotion. Yet he loved her. She was his first love…it would remain that way. He would remain unscarred by a second love, one that is now simply considered as a burden. The second miko. The reincarnation.
I took those fragile promises now broken,
I tried to put them back together…
But the words meant heal both of us went unspoken.
Hate is what I found.
The undead miko, whose gaze had been cast upward towards the snow now shifted to the hanyou. The miko held out her hand, and a snowflake landed on it. The snowflake didn't melt. She wasn't alive. Still, the hanyou took his hands and gently closed her hand, holding his hands on the miko's then pulling away as if she had somehow burnt him. She didn't flinch.
So da, what is the meaning of love?
This spiraling emotion…ne! It fills me up then leaves me empty,
Like the gentle whispers of a dove.
Hope is what I carry.
Kikyou…The word was like a plea. It went unheard to dead ears. The miko's hand went back to her side; she turned around, and closed her eyes. The wind suddenly kicked up, as did the snow, and a solitary frozen tear ran down her face.
So da…this is love, this is the cost.
Hurt, pain, sorrow.
Love is what I lost.
Author's Ramblings: Ne, I know the last stanza is only 3 lines long. The title is "Everything" because it shows what Inuyasha gave up, found, carries, and lost because of Kikyou. Normally, I don't usually write Inuyasha stories, but I guess for now I have to make an exception. Also, I know my account says that I do only yuri/yaoi. Oh well. I'm going to change that soon. Thanks for reviewing!
