Beauty exists in the very experience of living - and that is cause for rejoicing. -Thomas Kinkade

Beauty

Some people search high and low for beauty. They climb every mountain or they sail every ocean, all for a glimpse of that elusive virtue. They claim that beauty can only be found in nature. They claim that true beauty exists only in snow capped mountains touching the clouds or the ocean kissing the sun in greeting at dawn.

There are other people who spend money in search of beauty. They pour buckets of it on themself, on their family and on their home. A white picket fence, a manicured lawn and some plastic surgery are what they would refer to at as beauty. But it is just a superficial beauty that merely reflects a glossy surface and yet holds no depth.

But to Catherine beauty is something quite simple, but no less powerful, no less inspiring.

Sitting on the couch in her living room both Lindsey and Warrick sleep gently. The DVD is long forgotten as her daughter uses his chest as a pillow. For the first time in a long time a look of peace has descended upon her face. Warrick too looks at peace with one arm wrapped protectively around the child. The difference in skin tones compliment each other rather then detract.

This is what true beauty is - family - love - trust. Catherine has seemingly spent her whole life looking for them and yet it seems all three of them where right under her nose - all she had to do was look.

Millions of people go about in millions of ways trying to find beauty but for Catherine the search is over. This is her last thought before she taking her place on Warrick's other side and completing the picture.
