When you hear footsteps in the stairs you can tell by the sound of it who the person walking there is. Right?

Well, these were new. They were too dull to be any of her brothers' or even father's, and they were not as soft as her mother's. And her mother always hummed on some silly tune she'd heard on the WWN.

No, this was a new pair of feet. She heard the person stop on the same floor as her bedroom. It paused for a few seconds and then the door burst open.

She stood ready with her wand pointing towards it.

"Expelliarmus!" But the spell died out just as fast as it had been cast.

The man in the doorway let out a laugh as cold as ice, and it sent chills down her spine.

He looked odd. The thought came out of nowhere. His skin as white as snow and his eyes flaming red. Like a bad joke. A sick paradox.

It never crossed her mind that her time in this world was rapidly coming to an end, or how strange it was that none of her family had rushed to her side.

She just stood there calmly and stared him straight in the eyes. For the last years she had wondered how she would react when meeting him again. Now she knew, and it wasn't such a big deal.

She wondered how he felt about it. Did he even remember her? Had he know how much he'd meant to her? How much he still meant to her.

She tilted her head slightly and smiled at him. The curse hit her right in the chest. She was dead before she even hit the floor.
