A/N: Hey everybody. This is my first attempt at publishing a fanfic, so I apologize for any screw-ups (like the stanzas running together, for one!). It's supposed to be to the tune of "If I Needed You" by Emmylou Harris, but it works okay as a poem, too. Everything it mentions is either from Finding Neverland, Peter Pan, The Little White Bird or else is purely from my mind (scary). Oh, speaking of which, when it talks about Michael he's supposed to be laughing for the first time. I thought that part was kinda confusing.
Disclaimer: I don't own Finding Neverland, Peter Pan, The Little White Bird, J.M. Barrie, Sylvia, Michael, Peter, Jack or George Llewelyn Davies, any of the people who portrayed them, or the rights to the melody I so graciously ripped off--er-- borrowed with utmost respect forits original composers, whom I also don't own. They might be dead, anyway. That'd be gross.
Night-lights shall see
No harm come to thee
No harm come to thee
For to cause you pain
When the night is long
I will sing this song
Until the light
Shines through the rain
Michael's tummy shakesAnd the fairy wakes
And the fairy through
The window flies
Only Peter knows
Where the fairy goes
He trims his sail
Neath silver skies
Jack is here with me
But he used to be
A little robin
In the snow
Then came the day
When he flew away
But only Georgie
Saw him go
He sits by me
And he sips his tea
And he tells me of lands
Far away
Oh, I love him true
And he loves me too
But just how much
He'll never say
Night-lights shall see
No harm come to thee
No harm come to thee
For to cause you pain
When the night is long
I will sing this song
Until the light
Shines through the rain
A/N: The way I see it, Sylvia wrote this for her "five" boys near the end of the movie, maybe after the"just pretending" conversation. The last stanza (well, the part before the last "nightlights" refrain thing) might have been what was going through her mind. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed it, and any comments would be gweatwee appwicshiated.
