Prologue
"Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are."
Finishing the last syllable of the song, the young lady sitting by the bed pushed her chair backwards quietly; her hand never once leaving the forehead of the little girl snuggled under the covers of her bed. Standing, the young lady brushed the strands of hair away from her forehead and leaned down to kiss her on the forehead, then proceeded to walk quietly out of the room.
Walking swiftly and soundlessly, the young lady of the entrance of the mansion and pushed then open. The cool midnight breeze greeted her, and she grabbed her greatcoat before hurrying out, locking the large doors behind her with a silver key. After the lock slipped into place with a soft 'click' of the key turning, she turned back slowly and faced the large maze situated in front of the mansion.
Exhaling a breathe of hot air, she hurried down the steps of the porch and ran soundlessly towards the entrance of the maze. Using her left hand for guidance, she felt her way and finally reached the centre of the maze, where four graves were marked. The young lady dropped to her knees and stared at the four tombstones; unblinking and indifferent, the wind blowing her unbound raven midnight hair.
"It's time," she said softly, and kowtowed once to each of the four tombstones before standing and bowed to the tombstones, murmuring silent foreign words.
She walked to the back of the tombstones and dropped on all fours, searching; feeling for something on the wet moist mossy ground. When she found it, she pressed her palm down and suddenly, under her, a big hole appeared and the darkness swallowed her before the hole closed up.
Falling down the tunnel, the young lady made not a sound and soon, she crashed onto the metal floor of the hideout. Wincing at the impact as she landed on her left side, she rubbed her sore shoulder, gritting her teeth against the pain and pushed herself on her feet.
Walking down the winding staircase, all the while rubbing her sore shoulder, she finally reached a dead end with nothing but a tall wardrobe. The young lady stared at the wardrobe for a long time before closing her eyes and exhaled the breath she was holding and opened her eyes and walk towards the wardrobe. Breathing heavily, she tightened her hold on both the latch of the wardrobe doors, closed her eyes and flung the doors, gasping when she opened her eyes.
