A guardsman knocked on the door leading to the Imperial Garrison Commander's formal dinning room. He fidgeted nervously.

"Enter!" the guardsman did so. As he opened his breath left his lungs in a hiss of awe.

Standing at one end of the table a pair of tall figure. The beings' body covered in hardened sandy orange-brown coloured ceramite armour. One had a dark hood coming from his amour and held a long staff that sizzled with energy. The other held a large double-sided force axe and had black hair put into dreadlocks and dark brown skin. Sitting at the head of the table was the Imperial Commander.

"Yes Guardsman Hardon?" the Commander asked.

Hardon gulped nervously. The commander knew every guardsman's name and was well liked, but had a famous temper.

"Uh, sir there is a young boy here to see you. He's, uh, is covered in what appears to be blood. And he reports xenos activity near his home." The soldier report.

The Commander looked surprised by this but quickly assumed control. "Well bring him." The commander demanded.

As Hardon left the commander turned to his three guests, saying "Well Inquisitor, it seems you were right about the xenos here. Any idea what species we are dealing with?" he asked the Inquisitor hidden in the shadows.

"Of I'm right Nec'kar. I-"

The Inquisitor was cut off as the door opened and a teenage boy covered in a red substance walked into the room. It was clear from his red-rimmed eyes that he had been crying.

"Now son, if you won't mind, tell us what happened and what your name is." Commander Nec'kar said in a gentle tone.

"My name is Garik," The teen started, "Myself, my dad, mum, grand parents, sisters and brothers all lived (Nec'kar noted his use of the past tense) together in our home on the river Jeg. We had large shore fishing rigs. This morning I was helping my father and older brother bring in the nights catch. In with all the usual was a large armoured fish like creature. It had an odd coloured body with a pair of long three clawed arms and a brownish-red armoured carapace on its back. Dad sent me brother in to get his las-pistol from when he was in the Imperial Guard. When I got back with the gun the creature was devouring my brother. My father took the gun and told me to run. I tired to tell the rest but the creature knocked my dad and my aside and got in to the main building. Dad told me to come here. That they were here and the Imperium must be warned. So I ran, I ran like coward." By now he was crying, tears were running down his cheeks.

Softly Nec'kar asked, "who did he say were coming boy?"

Still sobbing Garik said, "H-he said that the Great Devourer was here and that I was to come here and tell any one here that he knew where the key someone called Kryptman was searching for."

Nec'kar turned his chair to the Inquisitor hidden in the shadows, who happened to the leader of the Inquisitorial forces against the Tyranid threat, and said, "it seems someone knows you sir. Let's find out who."

Inquisitor Kryptman moved from the shadows, saying, "Yes. Someone who holds the key to destroying the Hive Mind. We must go!"

Yes I know its slightly boring, but the next chapter has much more violence if you want it but let it be known I think nothing can defeat my beloved Tyranids. NOTHING, YOU HEAR ME? NOTHING!
