"Hey, I'm sorry I screwed up back there, Lennie," Ed said getting into the car for the drive to Raimondo's.
"Sorry about what?" Lennie asked mystified, concentrating on the drive.
"The two beers comment, those Knicks tickets I snagged are meant for us," Ed explained.
"I know, don't apologize. It was just an expression. Besides, alcohol's my problem, not yours," Lennie added.
"Does stuff like that ever bug you?" Ed asked.
"Sometimes," Lennie answered. "What really bothers me is when I react badly to something someone close to me inadvertently says or does. I'm really glad I didn't do that this time," Lennie said and smiled as he gave his partner's left fist a slight bump with his right.
