"Here we are. Home sweet home." Wakka grinned.

Sora laughed softly. "Thanks Wakka."

"Is your ma home yet?"

"Nope."

"Want me to stay with you then?"

Sora shook his head. "Nah. Tidus is waiting for you and Kairi said she'd come over later."

The redhead nodded and climbed up the porch steps. "Got a key?"

"Yup."

The teen handed a key to Wakka and the redhead unlocked the door.

"Where do you want to sit?" He asked, handing the key back to Sora.

"In the kitchen is good." Sora replied. "Then I'm close to food."

Wakka laughed. "In the kitchen it is."

The older teen took Sora into the kitchen and set him on a chair.

"Can you get me ice packs out of the freezer?" Sora asked.

"Sure."

Wakka walked over to the freezer and got two ice packs out. Sora set his feet up on a chair and took the ice packs from Wakka. He set one on each ankle. The brunette hissed slightly as his ankles stung a bit.

"All good?" Wakka asked.

"Yup. Close the door on your way out."

"Will do. Take it easy, eh? And you can call me if you need help. Tidus and I will always find other opportunities to smooch."

Sora blushed and Wakka laughed.

"Bye Sora."

"Bye."

Wakka gently ruffled Sora's hair then left the house. Sora leaned back in his chair and sighed. This really sucked. He kept getting hurt. There was a knock at the front door.

"Come in!" Sora shouted.

The door opened and Riku walked in.

"Hey Riku." Sora smiled. "Are you still cranky?"

Riku snorted and sat beside Sora. "How are your ankles?"

"Kinda sore. The ice is helping though."

Riku nodded. "Want me to stay with you until your mom gets home?"

"Sure. Kairi's coming over later too."

The older teen just nodded.

Sora frowned. "Is something wrong, Riku?"

"Yeah. If you keep getting hurt we won't be able to spar and you'll get flabby then the only challenge on Destiny Island I have will be gone."

The younger boy laughed. "You have nothing to worry about, Riku."

"Really? I can already see a love handle forming." Riku teased, poking Sora in the side.

Sora laughed and smacked Riku's hand away. This of course led to thumb wars. Riku pinned the brunette's thumb down in a few seconds.

"Darn." Sora pouted.

"See? You're out of shape." Riku continued to tease.

"Oh shut up and bring me some cookies." The younger teen laughed.

Riku chuckled and stood from the table. He grabbed two lemon cookies from the cookie jar and returned to Sora.

"One for you and one for me." He said, taking a bite of his treat.

"Thanks Riku." Sora smiled.

The brunette held his cookie between his teeth to reach down and remove the ice packs. He set them on the table then returned to eating his cookie.

"How long before I can walk on my own do you think?" Sora asked.

"Probably a few days, tomorrow at the earliest. It depends on how much discomfort you can take."

Riku was about to say something else, but a knock interrupted him.

"Come in!" Sora called.

Kairi opened the door and walked in. "I brought you some cookies!"

"You're going to make Sora fat, Kairi." Riku grinned.

Kairi giggled as she entered the kitchen. She was carrying a red square tin.

"These are Sora's favorite, though."

"Peanut butter cookies?" Sora's eyes went wide.

Kairi giggled again and nodded. She set the tin on the table and sat on Sora's other side.

"I thought you deserved a treat after all the bad luck you've been having lately."

Sora grinned and hugged the tin to his chest. "Cookies."

"You're so weird." Riku said.

"Thank-you!"

The silver-haired teen rolled his eyes and Kairi laughed.

"So what do you guys want to do?" Sora asked.

"I don't know. We could play cards." Kairi suggested.

"Fine with me." Riku replied.

"Great. Cards are in that drawer there." Sora pointed.

The kids played cards for nearly an hour. After that they watched TV until Kairi was called home for supper. Riku stayed with Sora to cook the brunette dinner.

"Make some for mom too. She should be home soon." Sora said.

"Yes master." Riku smirked.

The brunette blushed. "Sorry."

"It's ok." Riku laughed. "I don't mind."

While Sora sat on the couch in the main room Riku went about cooking. He wasn't as good of a cook as Sora but he was still pretty decent. The teen was almost done cooking when Sora's mom came home.

"You're hurt again?" April frowned worriedly. "What happened?"

"My chocobo got spooked, I fell off, and hurt my ankles." Sora replied. "The doc said to just keep ice on-and-off my ankles all day."

"Who's making supper?" The woman asked.

"Riku is." Sora smirked.

"Don't smirk." April laughed slightly.

"Sorry. I just find it amusing that Riku the rebel is cooking us dinner."

The woman laughed and gently ruffled her son's hair. "It is quite unheard of, hmn?" His feelings for you must be very strong.

After checking Sora's ankles over April went to check on Riku. The teen was currently setting the table and supper was ready.

"Wow. Thank-you Riku." April smiled.

"No problem." Riku replied. "I made enough for you and Sora. I'm going to go home before my parents have a fit."

"You sure? I can phone your mother."

"Nah. It's ok. I made supper for you 'n' Sora. I'll see you both tomorrow, ok?"

"Ok." April nodded.

Riku smiled and left the kitchen. He gave Sora a noogie as he approached the brunette.

"See you later, Sora. Take care of those ankles and don't eat all of Kairi's cookies in one sitting."

Sora pouted slightly and he looked disappointed. "You're not staying for supper?"

"Nah. My parents wouldn't be happy since I've been gone almost all day. Come on, I'll help you to the kitchen."

Sora's cheeks turned red as Riku walked around in front of him and scooped him up into his arms.

"I can try and walk you know." Sora said.

"True, but this is faster."

Riku carried Sora into the kitchen and sat him in a chair. "Bye Sora. Bye Mrs. Everhart."

"Bye Riku. Thank-you for taking care of Sora." April replied.

"No problem."

The teen smiled and left through the back door.

April smiled and started in on her supper. Surprisingly it was actually quite good.

"Is it edible?" Sora teased.

His mother laughed. "Yes Sora. It's quite good."

The brunette smiled and picked up his fork to start eating.

"What are you all doing tomorrow?" April asked.

"I don't know. I'll probably be stuck at home while everyone else goes out somewhere."

"Well I'm sure Riku wouldn't do that to you. He comes over even when you're not injured."

Sora's cheeks pinked. "Yeah..."

Sora's mom smiled knowingly and returned to her meal. She didn't want to embarrass her son.
