Title- A Quiet Purr
Fandom- Petshop of Horrors
Rating- PG- Mild language
Word count- 156- It was intended to be a drabble, but when I started writing it, I felt that I couldn't express what I wanted to without extending it into the flash-fic category. :vein: At 100 words, it wasn't done yet, basically. Don't hurt me!
Notes- I wanted to do a Petshop drabble, but this is what it turned out to be. It's a little out-there, I warn you now, but it's not as weird as some of the other stuff that goes on in D's petshop...
A quiet but consistent purr drifted throughout the shop. It was soft, but just loud enough to intrude itself into the mind and distract one from what one was doing.
It was driving Leon wild.
Finally fed up with the noise, he vowed he would find it's source- and probably shoot whatever was making that damn noise.
He searched for what must have been hours, but every time he thought he came close, it eluded him.
He came to yet another of the seemingly infinite doors in the back of the shop. He listened for several long moments there- yes. It was definitely coming from behind this door.
He flung it open- only to find D sitting there, a quiet, consistent purr issuing from his throat.
At that point, Leon couldn't help it. He was drawn into the room by some force unseen.
D smiled, and the door seemed to close itself behind the enthralled detective.
