Something so Natural…
Dark Lord Miho

---

This is my first fic that I am actually posting on the site, so yeah. It's a somewhat depressing fic about Kaorin and Sakaki that I wrote up one day in class. Read and review please.

I won't own Azumanga Daioh until I buy it off of Kiyohiko Azuma

My dear Sakaki-san,

I'm sorry. As you probably know, I am deeply in love with you, but I have never been able to tell you until now. However, I know that my love for you can never come to fruition because:

We are both girls, so even if you felt the same about me we could never truly be together,

There is no way someone as awesome as you could ever love someone like me.

I've tried so hard, but I can't get these feelings out of my head. It just seems so…natural. It's something so natural…that it's not.

After several weeks of contemplation, I have decided that I can no longer go on living. Once more, I am sorry Sakaki-san, I truly am.

Love, Kaorin

------3 years later------

The falling leaves crunched as they walked down the stone path that lead inward to the graveyard. The group had all returned to visit Kaorin's grave. One by one, they laid their flowers on their friend's grave and said a short prayer.

Tomo and Yomi hadn't changed much. Tomo was still the super energetic person that everyone had grown used to, but she was a bit more mature than she had been in high school. Yomi still had large glasses perched on her nose and she still studied hard, but she had stopped her dieting after she left high school. Tomo and Yomi had finally gotten together, as both of them feared that if they kept their emotions hidden away, they might end up like Kaorin.

Kagura had gotten a free ride to college through a swimming scholarship, and she also had a boyfriend. Osaka had gone to college in America with Chiyo and she had a boyfriend as well. Chiyo had started to put down her hair, and had grown it out to her waist, but other than that, she was the same old Chiyo. Sakaki had decided to stay in Japan, primarily because she felt responsible for Kaorin's death.

The day dragged on, and everybody started to leave. Chiyo, Osaka and Sakaki were the last at the grave.

"What are a still doin' there Sakaki-san?" Osaka mindlessly blurted out as she and Chiyo were leaving.

"Maybe we should just give her some time alone." Interjected Chiyo while pulling her bubble headed friend away.

Why didn't she just tell me? Sakaki though to herself.

After several minutes, Sakaki turned around and began to leave. After a few steps, she bowed her head and silently said, "I love you, Kaorin."
