Disclaimer: I don't own Manta OR Yoh!
Notes: I am sorry to say that I am NOT a MantaxYoh fan. I find that their friendship sits on a point of simple complexity that is and needs to be no more than what it is. Two friends. BEST friends. The passion in those words is enough by far for Manta and Yoh. Deepening that relationship would send them down the path of every other 'Yaoi! Yaoi! Yaoi!' friendship that many fans spoil by sticking two people together. Yoh and Manta's friendship is far too deep to be celebrated in that respect. I made this as a gift to my best friend, who fills my days and nights will oodles of love and passion for each other and the characters we write.

The trinket was strung modestly on a wall of similar objects, keychains and small leather pouches dangling from metal hooks. It was tucked away in back, between a small dark-skinned doll and a rather horrendous skeleton figure.
He'd purchased it without thought, and hid the object away as a precious gem, discreet in its own existence. Now it was pushed along the cold stone base of the window; grinding plastic against the rough edging. It was rather feminine when he thought about it now; yellow and green and heart-shaped, with two pieces fitting to make one. He wasn't entirely sure what had possessed him to buy it in the first place.
Manta peered then, at his friend, silent and smiling in his rest; emitting the same agreeable warmth as when awake. He had been guided by Yoh, and had vowed to always be there with him. To understand his simple and complex thinking; to be welcomed and needed and loved, though actual words were hardly needed. "Yoh..." The name swept out so sweetly with so much fondness, and a wind carried it out into Patch Village.
The boy kneeled to his friend, watching him through shadows. "I will always follow you." He pressed his lips to Yoh's blunt fingers, and placed into his palm the half of the necklace that read 'Best'.
