Sakura: Cherry Blossoms

Kagome closed her eyes as the wind made the cherry blossoms come to life. The sweet smell made her thoughts stand still. No impending thoughts of failure or thoughts of an unreturned love. The only thing that mattered was the way the blossoms smelled in the spring wind.

Slowly Kagome reopened her eyes and watched the light pink blossoms dance and twirl, towards freedom. With one last wistful glance Kagome turned her back on the cherry blossom tree and towards the twisted and cruel thorns of the bloody roses.

To turn in freedom for love, is such a hard thing to do. Kagome thought as tears sprang to her eyes.

"Oi! Wench are you coming?" Inuyasha shouted from some distance away.

"Of course." Kagome called back. "Iwillalways follow you." Kagome whispered to herself as she remembered the dancing blossoms.

Kikyo swatted away the pesky blossoms as they flew at her and stuck to her clothes. The wind that had carried the little pink flowers had been pushing at her from behind. Urging her to move forawrd. Away from her old village, her home.

"Maybe it is time to let go. I have been holding for far to long. Perhaps I can make my new home in the South." Kikyo said to herself as she twisted to see the outskirts of Inuyasha's Forest.

With one last glance over her shoulder she hesitantly took a step forward. Home would no longer be the village that held so many memories. But the place forward, where the cherry blossoms lead her.

"Alright. Alright. Lead the way." Kikyo said laughing softly as the petals contined to push her forward.

Kikyo glided forward as she followed the light pink blossoms and left the prickly thorns of the roses.

A/N Not what I was aiming for exactly but I thought it was okay even if it was a bit short.
