I'm lying to them and they don't even realize it. Their trust in me is so complete that I could tell them that the sky was orange and they would believe it. Pathetic.
When they came to me to ask their little questions, I could see the blind trust written all over their faces.
Donny will figure it
out!
He's so smart!
He knows everything!
What a genius!
He never makes a
mistake!
And so I gave them what they wanted. I had no idea what the real answer was but I made one up just so I wouldn't have to see the looks of disappointment on their faces if I admitted my ignorance.
I lied to their faces, and do you want to know why? Because I know that they only really love me for my knowledge. Without that, without my 'superior' brain power, I'm nothing to them. Nothing to anyone… even myself.
Prove me wrong.
Prove that you love
me.
Don't just visit
me when you need to borrow some IQ.
Talk to me about
things other than machines.
