Draco Malfoy dipped his quill pen into his ink well and started scratching a note down. He finished, rolled it up and sent it with his black hawk. He sat down imagining what the recepiant would say when she saw it.

-100 Miles Away-

Hermione Granger sat in her room, filled with nervous excitement. Tomorrow was her wedding. A big wedding. She and her best friend Ginny Weasley had decided to have a double wedding. Ron had proposed 6 months ago and she had happily accepted. Following his best friend's example Harry had proposed soon after to Ginny. Ginny walked into Hermione's room, her bright brown eyes dancing

"Can you believe it?" she gushed. Hermione had a faraway look in her eyes.

"Hardly.." she murmured, her eyes glazed over. Ginny shot a sharp look at her and said

"Death eaters are attacking the hotel and Ron died."

"Mmhmm.." Hermione nodded. Ginny punched Hermione in the arm and cried out

"You aren't listening." Hermione snapped back to attention. Ginny laughed but stopped as a black hawk soared through the window.

"Isn't that Malfoy's owl?" Ginny asked with distate. Hermione however had hastened to open the letter.

Hermione unrolled the parchement and started to read

Dear Hermione Granger,
No doubt, you're wondering why I of all people would be contacting you the day before your wedding. Do not bother asking how I know about this supposedly 'secret' wedding. I have my ways. Hermione, you must know this. During that one battle when you and I were locked in the duel, you must have wondered why I fled. Know this, I had no intention of hurting you physically
For this letter to make more sense, I have been watching. Watching you ever since your 5th year. Why? Becuase, what I refused to acknowledge turned into an infatuatution. What I am saying Hermione Granger, is that I love you. I, Draco Malfoy, love you. I am not trying to change your wedding, but I thought you should know before you wed Weasel.

-Draco Lucius Malfoy

By the time Hermione had finished her eyes were wide with shock. Ginny had snatched the letter and skimmed it. She said sharply

"You aren't going to ditch my brother for him? Are you?"

Hermioen gulped and said shakily, "I'm not. This doesn't change a thing." Even though she knew, it changed a lot of things.

-The Wedding

Hermione walked down the aisle..or stone path. The wedding was being held outside of Hogwarts. Her head bowed, her father could not be there. Tears were threatening to spill over. She stopped at the alter and Ginny walked up behind her. The priest began his speech. Hermione's head was still bowed as Ron lifted her veil. He saw her face and whispered

"Mione? Something wrong?" Hermione shook her head. The part finally came where the priest asked Ron

"Do you take this woman to be your wife? Through health a sickness. Riches and poverty?" Ron replied, beaming with pride

"I do." The priest turned to Hermione

"And do you, take this man to be your husband?" Hermione's eyes darted around the grounds. Many of her childhood friends were there, smiling at her. She looked at Ginny who was frowning. Harry looked apprehensive and Ron..well Ron looked confident.

"I-I.." she choked out. She stopped and leaned into Ron, "I do." Ron kissed her. Her cheeks were wet with tears and a black clad figure who had been standing behind a tree, listening to the ceremony, walked out. His gray-blue eyes looked into Hermione's and she felt herself trembling. She turned away from Draco Malfoy and to her new husband.

I hate you now go away
It never does make my day
when people say you like me
but really what does it mean
when you sit right behind me or anything
