Disclaimer - Don't own them or the show or anything. If I did, Nick and Sara would've gotten together a long time ago.

A/N - I got this idea today because I had the hiccups and they wouldn't go away. I tried everything and they still wouldn't go away, so I wrote a fic. It's just a short, fluffy, N/S piece.

"Hey Nick, hic will you hic scare me?" Nick glanced up from the paperwork he was doing.

"Will I what?"

"Will you scare hic me?"

Nick looked at her as though she had grown two heads. "Why in the world would you want me to scare you?"

"Because hic, I've got the hic hiccups,"

He smiled at her. "I can hear that."

"It's not hic funny. They won't seem to go away."

"Did you drink water?"

"Yes"

"Hold your breath?"

"Yes"

She hiccupped loudly again.

"Oh! I know! Stand on your head, that's what my mom always told me to do." Nick said, looking at her.

She sighed, and then hiccupped again. "I already tried that. Greg walked in and asked hic me if I was practicing for the gymnastics team and if I would have to wear one of those hic tight leotards."

Nick laughed at that. "All right, then try drinking water and not breathing at the same time. Maybe that'll work."

"Okay, I'll be right back," and she left to go grab a bottle of water from the break room.

After a few minutes she was back with water. Holding her breath, she drank almost the whole bottle.

"Hey, I think it worked!"

Before Nick had the chance to reply, she gave another loud hiccup. He laughed, "I don't think it worked all that well."

She glared at him, "They're never going to go away!"

"Maybe you should just wait them out."

"I don't think I really have a hic choice," she turned to leave, grabbing an evidence bag, "I'm gonna go bring this to hic Hodges," and with that she left.

Later on during the shift Sara was walking down the hall, still hiccupping every few seconds or so. As she turned the corner, Nick jumped out of the broom closet, causing her to scream.

"Nick!" she exclaimed, holding her hand over her chest, "what the hell was that for? You nearly gave me a heart attack!"

"Well," he said with a cheeky grin, "your hiccups are gone aren't they?"
