As soap is soap, a wound is a wound. And wounds heal, right? Pirika hugged her knees to her chest tightly, and winced as she ran her little finger over the smooth Band-Aid covering the cut Tao Ren gave her. Lately he'd been a little moody. She sighed. Then why hadn't hers started to heal? It had been 3 weeks now, and still counting. Well, the cut was an accident. And he hadn't really wanted to break up, she could've sworn there had been some doubt and hesitation clouding his vision. She hopped off the bed and stood in front of the window. The raindrops tumbled down. She smiled weakly. It matched the weather in her heart. Lyrics from an old song floated into her head: 'Don't bother about the weather- it's raining in my heart tonight' as she thought about what has happened 3 weeks ago.

'Look-' Pirika had been on a date with Ren, and they had been on the way home when Pirika picked up a tiny stone. 'Obsidian,' she breathed, admiring it as she shot Ren a glance. He was gritting his teeth, signifying impatience. 'It's beautiful,Ren, ' she told him. 'I wonder who left it here…' Tao Ren shrugged, and Pirika could tell he probably wasn't at all interested. Oh well… She slipped it into her jacket pocket and they strolled back to her house silently. Pirika figured Ren must have been too tired too speak or something. She looked up at him and grinned. 'No goodnight kiss?' she teased, playfully cocking her head sideways. Tao Ren's expression was stony as he gave her a quick peck and said bye. She had stopped him with a weak yell of 'Wait!', and he whirled around. 'What's wrong?' she asked. Just now he had been ok, and now… 'Nothing!' he snarled, slapping her outstretched palms away. Stung, she withdrew them. 'Tao Ren-' 'Stop it!' he growled, and pushed her forcefully, until she slammed against the ground and the hurt outweighed the pain. He ran off without turning back, and Pirika's obsidian stone tumbled out. She picked it up and choked on the tears that couldn't stop flowing down her face as she ran into the house, her heart dried of all emotion.
