AN: My thoughts on what happened after HBP, this takes place after the chapter "Flight of the Prince".
Severus finally stopped from his frantic flight away from the castle, away from the chaos and away from everything that had happened mere minutes ago.
He collapsed against the wall, heart pounding away in his ears, ignoring Draco's queries about what happens now, what are they going to do now. He ignored his grateful thanks for helping him out in the end, no matter how much he protested throughout the school year, because he suddenly couldn't bring himself to cast the spell in the final moment and how relieved he was when Severus appeared and took the matter out from his hands. He ignored the rest of his fellow Death Eaters, cackling gleefully as they celebrated the demise of their Lord's enemy.
Sweat dripped down his face and he tasted salt on his lips. He brought his hand up to wipe it off when he realised that he was still clutching onto something. His wand. Staring at the thin wooden stick, his mind reflexively recalled the memories and his participation in the death of Albus. Who would have thought that he would be the one to kill him? In the end, the Killing Curse was all it took to take the Headmaster out while it was actually supposed to be Draco's mission in the first place. Hearing the desperate pleading and uttering the fatal words…it was the hardest thing he'd ever done. And that Potter boy even dared to call him a coward!
Severus Snape, the Half-Blood Prince, double-spy and killer of Albus Dumbledore threw back his head and laughed hysterically, uncaring of anyone who would see him.
Damn that Unbreakable Vow.
