Of course I don't own any Inuyasha characters. There is a reason Rumiko Takahashi is one of the richest women in Japan, right? But I am a fan girl who loves to write poetry, and this is my first Inuyasha poem. Of course, Sesshomaru would never admit these feelings to anyone in a million years. But, hey, that's what poetic license is for, right? Grin

This poem is based on an absolutely gorgeous piece of artwork by Silvestris. Thanks, Silvestris, for inspiring my muse with your own artwork!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this poem.

Broken Promise

I swore I wouldn't care
For one such as you.

Yet as we sit together
In softest green caress
Of mountain grass,
Sweet cherry blossom scent
Upon the wafting breeze,
Fireflies add their glow
To liquid silver moonlight.
You laugh as one eludes your grasp.
What wonder now is on your face?

For the first time I see
Beauty in the world.

I swore I wouldn't care
For one such as you.
A promise to myself
Now broken.
