Was long past midnight, still dark, but only a few more hours and sun would start painting the sky with soft pastel colors, like every other autumn morning. Soft breeze blew through the leaves of a cherry tree, making them dance in the comforting darkness. In the Uchiha house hold was dead silent, no light escaping through the tightly shut glass windows, but that didn't mean that everybody were sleeping. One young boy, if you still could call him a boy after all he had done, was awake. He couldn't just go to bed when he felt like this. Itachi sat quietly beside his sleeping little brother, watching him as he breathed, making his chest rise and fall gently. Bluish black bangs fell on Sasuke's pale face, Itachi sighed shaking his head.

Moonlight came through the only open window in to the mansion, making Sasuke's fair skin looking even paler, almost white. Itachi smiled sadly in the darkness, Sasuke looked so beautiful like that, lying peacefully, red lips lightly parted. Looking even sadder, he slowly moved his hand towards the face of his sleeping little brother, wanting to combed away those black locks on his face and kiss those soft lips. Yet he didn't dare even once to touch him, it was so painful to keep away from something so beautiful. Closing his eyes he pulled away his hand, Sasuke might wake up if he tried anything, he wasn't ready to explain anything.

The boy on the small bed stirred, not yet waking up, but making Itachi's traitorous heart to beat a little faster than normally. He knew he shouldn't feel like this and that, that it was forbidden, but he didn't care because in his heart it felt so right. Everything was alright as long as nobody knew, or so he thought. Once he had made a mistake by asking his mother about his feelings, that had been very stupid of him, but how should he have known that some human feelings were just not meant to be? His mother had first looked absolutely chocked for a moment, not expecting his older son to ask anything like that. She had calmed down surprisingly fast, telling Itachi that his father thought that those feelings were wrong. She had told him to never tell his father, no matter what, or he would take Sasuke away from him for the rest of his life. But she never told him what she thought about his feelings for his little brother. He guessed that it was okay with her, she was such an open person that she probably only cared that he loved Sasuke. Maybe he would tell Sasuke someday, and maybe he would tell his father too about his secret, when he was stronger so no one, not even death could separate him and his beautiful little brother.

Maybe some day...
