Freak Show

Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans.

"Come in. Come in and see the freaks!" The tall man in a black top hat said, waving his cane and pointing it at a curtain which was partially lifted and served as a entrance into the brightly colored tent. The crowd filed loudly into the tent and one unwise mother had brought in a crying infant. It was dark inside of the tent, but silhouettes of the four cages we're easily visible. Each one of it's prisoners trying to hide in the darkness. "In this cage we have the amazing one man (or boy) zoo." Suddenly a spotlight flicked on and focused on one of the cages. Inside of it was a small green boy. He was shivering, fear in his eyes. The hard-faced ringleader clicked his tongue once and the boy morphed into a tiger. Some people gasped, but most just stared wide-eyed. He clicked his tongue again and the tiger changed into an eagle. The crowd went quiet with awe. He clicked his tongue once more, and the eagle shifted into a large boa constrictor. It hissed and curled into several coils. One person screamed and began to sob. "Next in our tour of horror is the incredible alien girl." The ringleader snapped his fingers, the spotlight on the boa shifted over and focused on a red-headed girl who blinked in the light, dazed. She then growled her eyes glowing green, pounded the clear plastic walls and shot green beams of energy. All in an attempt to break her prison walls. Some people jumped back with a gasp, others stood the ground bravely. She cursed them in some other language. "And now the gigantic robot boy!" The spotlight moved once again, this time focusing on a hulk of metal and flesh. The half robot, half boy lifted a ten ton weight in the air. People inhaled with awe. The boy then shifted his arm into a cannon and he blasted a target that had been set up inside the cage. His eyes momentarily flickered upward to the water tank above him. Most people applauded, but a few, who had not been frightened, just stood there. "Last and most terrifying. A child so grotesque you shall lose all pity at the sight of it. Now bear witness to the horrid demon child!" The spotlight once again panned to the newly announced cage. A shadowed figure hid in the corner as far away from the spotlight as possible. No features could be determined. The crowd booed and hissed, but still the figure did not move. "Must we do this every time?" The ringleader groaned quietly and cracked the whip in the air. The figure didn't budge. "Dammit." He cursed quietly and snapped the whip straight down the figure's back making it stumble slightly into the spotlight. It looked up scared and silent. Its hair was shoulder length and violet, but the feature that tended to frighten the most was her four gleaming red eyes. This time everyone gasped, and the demon child heard their thoughts in her head and collapsed to her knees.

It really is a demon!

Didn't it kill its own parents? I can see why.

I wonder what it's like to look in the mirror and see thatShe clapped her hands over her ears.

"Stop it! Stop saying those things!" She moaned, but the room was completely silent.

How was that thing created?

How could something like that survive?

I wonder, was it ever human?

"STOP IT NOW!" A dark tendril of energy lashed out and the spotlight shattered. The crowd screamed and ran, as far away as they could get from those… Freaks. All except one. He lingered in the corner, this was his home. But he regretted that whenever he came here.
