"A Brother's Prayer"
My brother, our time is through;
the end is close at hand.
The journey has been hard,
full of anguish and heartache,
but also rewards.
We've stood by each other
in all of our bitter storms.
We've laughed,
we've cried,
we've shared fun times.
Please, don't regret your life's
joys and pains as you pass
into the void of eternal light.
Rather, remember and relish them,
as others have remembered and relished you.
We will meet again
on the other side of the gate...
Someday soon, I pray.
But, for now,
rest your head, close your eyes,
the end is close at hand.
