Part One - August 1985

He watched as the five year old old carried on a conversation with one year old baby, smiling proudly as it gurgled.

"I think you are goin' be the bestest baby brother in the whole world. You goin' help me one day." the older child said gleefully, smiling happily.

Part Two - August 1988

He watched as the eight year carried on a one-sided conversation with the tree, eyes joyous and wide.

"I know you can't talk back and all, and you can't really hear me, but I think you are the bestest friend I ever had!" the child exclaimed proudly to the tree, standing up.

Part Three - August 1991

He watched as the eleven year old chatted with friends, a faint sniffling heard softly in the background.

"I am going to more important than your cousin one day. Like a hero. You'll see." the child said, a wistful smile gracing the child's features.
