Moon

Extravagant night

whose sky swirls with navy blue

---and tainted white

whose wisps of clouds send shadows drifting

amid vast, barren lands

---discreetly

the leaves trembling

like tiny hands wringing with wrought

accompanied by the soft whistle of the breeze

§

But what are these things?

What are they but tiny observations

registered subconsciously

laying on the periphery of my mind

--- insignificant

The moon now draws my eyes

so full

so radiant

my love

the night's sun

§

Blood pounding, heart drumming,

with no guarantee I can stop this madness. Then

again, why would I want to?

the sweet indulgence of immorality

upon which we thrive--- it

would be like depriving one of oxygen

Embrace it--- breathe! Embrace the monster within!

§

Forgive me

I am but an animal

and the moon is my

only love
