Well, I wasn't exactly sure if poetry was still allowed here…
I haven't seen Evangelion poetry posted for ages…and I didn't want to get in trouble or anything.
This is a poem I wrote rather quickly on a prompt to write a poem about a certain moment in a series. So I chose Evangelion, and I think as you read, you'll realize the moment and the perspective and all that…
I feel odd just posting a small little poem like this, but looking back I've seen tons of these done, and I rarely write Eva poetry so I felt like sharing this.
Disclaimer: I don't own Evangelion or its characters. Gainax does, and they rock. Who else could create both Evangelion and FLCL!
Kom Susser Todd (Come Sweet Death)
The lonely boy leaned against the rail
His fists clench and shiver
He loves the girl, but hates himself
His soul cannot be delivered
For all around him, he hurts
And deep inside him, he cannot repent
Cannot lie back slowly, or begin his own end
For he is a coward, tried and true
Although he'd rather hurt himself, than hurt you
That's what he tells himself as he moans and cowers
In his corner, corner of gloom
That's what he repeats as he groans and shivers
In the darkness, the darkness, awaiting the doom
For although death gives birth to nothing, nihil is true
For often times nothing is better than life
And often death is the way one pays tithe
So come sweet death and free the mind
Come sweet death, cold and kind
In the kiss of a bullet, straight through the skull
He finds peace and beauty in nothing at all.
Well, that's it folks, my one and only Eva poem…eheheh…hope you didn't think it was lame, I sort of wrote it in two seconds.
I love writing poetry, but I rarely do poems based on anything but myself, so you probably won't see anymore Eva poems from me…ehehe
