Summary: After the wedding, Harry and Ginny talk, and Harry attempts to make amends. My first H/G fic! HBP spoilers.

Disclaimer- I do not own Harry Potter. All characters, plot, mentioned storyline and settings all belong to Jo Rowling.

Note: This is my first H/G fic. I mostly focus on R/Hr and even though I ship Harry/Ginny, I have never actually tried to write a fan fic on them yet. So if it's a little rusty, as time goes on and I get more practice, they will get better. That said, enjoy!

Amends

Harry tossed and turned. He really couldn't sleep at a time like this. He, Ron and Hermione were setting off to Godric's Hollow tomorrow morning, and although he was anxious, impending fear was taking over his emotions.

Honestly, Harry had no idea what they were going to be facing. Or even where they were going to go after Godric's Hollow.

There were 4 unknown Horcruxes out there somewhere, and Harry had no idea where to start.

Staring up at the ceiling, he heard Ron mumbling in his sleep. Figuring he might go down and get a drink, Harry flung the blankets off him and slipped out of bed. Slipping on his dressing gown, he tiptoed out the door and made his way down the stairs.

What he didn't expect to see what a faint light illuminating from the living room. Long red hair was the first thing he saw and the sight of Ginny curled up on the sofa made his heart twinge.

Stepping down the staircase it made a creak and Ginny looked up. Seeing Harry, she smiled slightly.

'Hi.' Ginny said, gesturing him to come sit down. 'What are you doing up so late?'

'I could ask you the same thing.' Harry replied, sitting down next to her. Ginny shrugged, 'Couldn't sleep, I guess.'

'Yeah, I know that feeling.' Harry said, staring into the fire.

'You guys are leaving tomorrow aren't you?' Ginny asked after a few minutes. Harry's head snapped up and he looked at her.

'How-' He began. 'I heard Mum and Ron having an argument about it. She's quite upset.' Ginny replied.

Harry felt a twinge of guilt. Honestly, he wasn't sure if he fully accepted the fact that Ron and Hermione were both coming along with him on the journey for the Horcruxes.

'So this is it then. It's probable that I might never see you again.' Ginny said, her voice staying solid.

'Ginny-'

'No, Harry. I just…do you really want to leave it like this?' Ginny asked.

'No, I don't.' Harry said moments later.

Harry wanted nothing more at that moment than to lean over and kiss her. To forget all that was happening and tell his mind that him and Ginny will be better off together. But truthfully, Harry knew that that was not the case.

Ginny continued to stare at him, then smirked. 'But your not going to do anything about it, are you?'

She stood up and made to walk away, but Harry stood up and grabbed her arm. 'Who said I'm not going to?' He said softly before leaning down and kissing her. He knew he shouldn't have. Any logical person would have resisted the temptation to do so, but Harry could not.

After a moment or two, Harry softly broke away. Ginny stared into his eyes, her own brimming with tears.

'Your still going to go, aren't you?' She asked him.

'I have to. And as much as I'd rather stay here with you, I have to go. Without you.' Harry replied, brushing the tear that had fallen down her cheek.

Ginny nodded, and Harry put his arms around her. Kissing her on the forehead, Harry broke away and looked into her eyes.

'I'll be waiting.' Ginny said softly, staring into his face.

'So will I.' Harry replied, kissing her swiftly on the cheek and walking up the stairs.

The journey he was about to face already had an ending. And that was with Ginny.
