This... is kinda strange. I just had an itch to write, and this poped out. It's a little confusing at the end, I couldn't quite get it to happen just how it was comming out in my head, but I couldn't really think of a way to fix that. One-shot, hope you enjoy.

Joey cried. He screamed too, and yelled obscenities, though how he did that he wasn't sure. He didn't really have a mouth, after all. Every time he pushed out far enough to get a glimpse of what was going on outside, he'd meet a blinding wall of golden light and a lot of pain. And he blinked, and suddenly he was opening his eyes to the outside world. The sight that met him was very strange.

"What the fucking hell?" Was the first thing out of his mouth. "The hell's goin' on, Yug?" He was bound to a chair, very tightly. He started to struggle, eyes looking at his binds to asses how to get out of them. That didn't look promising.

"Stop struggling, dog, or you go splat." Joey's head whipped around to his left, eyes settling on the rare hunter that was holding a button aloft. Splat? He turned his eyes upward and found a very large and heavy crate hanging there. His struggling very suddenly stopped. He turned back to Yugi.

"What's- Teá? Why are you wearin' my Dual Disk? Why are you dueling Yugi? What's going on?" Yugi turned to him. Yami, he corrected himself.

"Calm down Joey. Are you injured?"

"Uh, I don't think so, but considerin' I was kidnapped by guys in cloaks and woke tied up in a strange place, I wouldn't count on that. And man, do I need a painkiller for this headache."

"Well, at least he's still Joey." He heard Yami say to the air. Or Yugi, whichever. Panic fading Joey took the time to examine his surroundings. Yami dueling Teá, on the docks, both of them hooked up to anchors, boxes at their feet. He got the idea. And he was almost happy to note Teá didn't quite sound like herself. She was being controlled, that much he could tell, Yugi was calling her Marik. So he was happy it wasn't Teá doing the actual dueling, but he was pissed that Marik would control Teá of all people. Why not him?

Damn, Kaiba was here too, with Mokuba. How humiliating. So Joey sat there, and watched as they dueled. He saw Mai pull up in her car with his sister, fresh from the hospital. She had wanted to take her bandages off, but Joey told her not to. He felt weak and helpless, and he didn't want her first sight of him in years to be him tied up as the damsel in distress. Then he watched Yugi give Teá his puzzle, saw her struggle with it before letting it drop at her feet. He joined in with Yugi, pleading for their friendship.

"Shut up or you'll get it, dog." The hunter said next to him after it started to look like they were getting through to her.

"What is it with people and calling me a dog?" Joey yelled out, frustrated with this whole situation. Kaiba sniggered, and Joey started struggling again.

"Hey I told you to-" The rare hunter started, but in that moment a cry was heard, and the splash of water as anchors fell.

"Yugi!" And Kaiba moved, card flying through the air to knock the trigger out of the hunter's hand. Then he saw Serenity remove her bandages, and Tristan start forward to help Yugi and Teá. Kaiba punched the cloaked man, knocking him out. But thetrigger was still flying through the air, and Joey watched as it hit the ground, button first. Grinding sounds could be heard above him, and he saw Kaiba's eyes widen in horror. Serenity screamed, Mai yelled something, and Kaiba lunged forward to press the release button. His binds snapped back, but it was too late. Joey took his freed hand and pushed Kaiba out of harm's way. Only one had to die, and he wouldn't leave two younger siblings grieving.

Joey's last thought was that he should have let Serenity take off her bandages.

Yeah, like I said. Strange. Review.
