Chapter 1 The Boy
"Prongs! Prongs," Sirius waved his hand in front of James's face. "What," said James. "You haven't been listening to a word I've been saying have you," Sirius said. James, Sirius, Remus and Peter were sitting under the beach tree near the lake. "I was saying Snivly just arrived," James look over his shoulder and saw the top of some greasy black hair poking just above a bush nearby. "Excellent," exclaimed James. James and Sirius got to their feet cautiously, trying to make sure Snape didn't look around. Remus looked up from his book and looked over at James and Sirius, who were creeping towards Snape. He looked for a moment like he would like to join them but looked back at his book, though his eyes were not moving. "What you got there Snivly," Sirius asked. Snape jumped to his feet as though he had been expecting an attack. "Finuclas," Snape shouted. "Protego," Sirius shouted. The to spells met in mid air a rebounded onto bushes. "Expelliamus," James said. Snapes wand went wizzing into the air and landed ten feet away at the feet of a 4th year Ravenclaw. The boy picked up the wand and through to James saying "when you say expelliamus concentrate hard on where you want it to land." "Who are you," James and Sirius asked simultaneously. The boy turned and started walking up to the castle. "Hey nobody turns their backs on us," James said. The boy turned around slowly drawing out his wand a said "put a sock in it." He gave a complicated hand movement and a sock appeared in James and Sirius's mouths. Everyone around them laughed. The boy turned around and saw Snape creeping towards James. The boy flicked his wand up and Snape went spinning into a bush. The boy stowed his wand back into his pocket and walked up to the castle. "Who's that boy?" Sirius demanded once he had pulled the sock out of his mouth. "That's what I wonna know," said James sitting down beside Remus "When I get my hands on him I'll – I'll," He mimed strangling someone in mid-air. "Perhaps if you talk to him he might explain why he attacked you," Remus suggested. "No," said James defiantly " Lets go up to the castle. We can have an early lunch." When they got up to the castle they saw the boy coming out from the Great Hall. Resisting the temptation to hex him James followed the others into the hall. As they walked into the Great Hall James noticed that no one was there not even a teacher. "This is why we don't know him. He eats when no one else is," Remus said.
