Just A Girl

"Tomb robber, stop!" The warning came too late as large explosion knocked both figures to the ground.

"Ow," Yami Bakura exclaimed, rubbing his head and sitting up. "That wasn't supposed to happen."

"Of course it wasn't," Yami Yugi replied sarcastically. "You only made the mistake of invoking the goddess of change without properly giving a request."

"I'm fairly certain that hasn't happened before," Yami Bakura said, ignoring Yami Yugi completely. "I wonder what went wrong," he continued, staring at the card in his hand.

Yami Yugi stood up, stomping the ground hard. "Look at me when I am speaking to you, idiot."

Yami Bakura finally looked away from his Change of Heart card and looked up to meet the angry spirit's glare. Unfortunately, the former tomb robber's gaze only made it up to his chest. Correction: her chest.

"Yes, tomb robber. Thank you for finally noticing that you have somehow managed to turn me into a girl. Now find a way to fix it, and fix it immediately."

"You're…a girl." Yami Bakura considered this for a moment, then tugged at Ryou's shirt's collar and glanced down. "And apparently so am I."

"Believe it or not, I don't really care."

Yami Bakura looked back at the Change of Heart card, then back to the transformed Yami Yugi again. "What…Why…How did the card do that?"

"You called upon the powers of the goddess of change. In case you didn't already know, she has a rather wicked sense of humor."

"Why are you so worried? Don't you know that Change of Heart wears off at the end of the turn?"

"I told you already, you invoked the goddess of change. You know, instead of playing your precious card."

"Oh," Yami Bakura finally stopped to listen to what Yami Yugi was saying. "Are we still in the middle of our duel?"

"No, I don't think we were having a real duel to begin with. At any rate, we have more important things to do than duel. Like maybe finding a way to change us back?"

"Um…maybe a magic reversal or magic removal card?"

"I told you already—"

"Right, right, this is the work of a goddess, not a card effect. Why are you so stressed about it, anyways?"

"Just because you see nothing wrong with ruining your other half's life doesn't mean I feel the same way. I don't know how Yugi will ever forgive me if I don't get this mess worked out."

"Huh?"

Yami Yugi began pacing. "If I don't get this fixed, how is he…she…whatever supposed to go out with Tea?"

"I could point out the obvious answer to that."

"Please don't. All I know is that I don't want to be stuck in the body of a girl, and this whole mess is giving me a massive headache. Yugi, your turn to yell at the idiotic tomb robber." And with those parting words, Yami Yugi was gone.

The now female Yugi spent a few moments looking at what she could see of her newly acquired body. "Any plans to solve this before Yami freaks out any more?"

Yami Bakura shrugged. "I'm in no hurry. Ryou already looked like a girl, so maybe no one will notice the difference."

"Oh, trust me, they'll notice. May I speak to Ryou now?"

The seated figure was momentarily still as the two exchanged places. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Please don't be too upset, Yugi. I'll do anything I can to fix this and make it up to you."

"It's okay, Ryou. Just, please get off the floor before someone sees you," Yugi smiled nervously and offered the taller girl a hand. "Let's continue this conversation at one of the mall bathrooms. I want to see what I look like, and I have a feeling I shouldn't be walking around with a hairstyle that's so, shall I say, recognizable."
