Photographs and Memories

"Hey Tai! Do you want to see the pictures I took?" Kari asked her older brother.
"Not now Kari, I'm not in the mood." Tai said solemnly.
"Oh, okay." She said quietly as she left the room with her digital camera.
Alone again, Tai thought with dread, just like that.
Looking up, Tai saw a pretty picture of him and Sora standing beneath a peach tree that was blooming with pale pink petals.
I wonder what happened, Sora, Tai thought, staring at the photograph. I always thought that you liked me but, as the years went by, you began to like Matt.
As Tai continued to look at the picture, he began to think about the times he and Sora had together.
I remember when we were little kids, we always played soccer together. Then we both got transported to the Digital World and met our own Digimon.
Then at that strange factory, Andromon grabbed you by your ankle and dropped you, but Agumon and I were able to catch you in the nick of time.
In the pyramid, I believed that I couldn't get hurt by an electric fence because I was made up of data in the Digital World, then you and Biyomon were kidnapped by Datamon and I blamed myself for that.
The next day, I was determined to rescue you but then the electric fence prevented me from getting to you, but Agumon told me to have courage and that kept me going.
After I returned from the Digital World from Earth, You were always helping us with our own troubles: Telling Agumon about the mushrooms of forgetfulness, keeping a table from falling when Joe went to get a sack of potatoes without dropping anything, and telling Mimi that she had to stop acting like a selfish princess to get her crest to glow again.
When all of us finally caught up with you, you told us that each of our crests represented all of our qualities, but you said you couldn't get your crest to work because of your bad relationship with your mother.
It wasn't long after you told us when Myotismon appeared and began defeating our Digimon easily. Biyomon couldn't fight because she got hurt by Demidevimon, she wanted to help in the fight, but you wouldn't let her, it was then you realized you were trying to protect Biyomon, just like your mother was trying to protect you.
I even remember the argument you and I had over that little hairpin, I tried calling to apologize but you wouldn't answer them. I decided to write an apology letter to you on the Internet, then I realized that I put 'Love Tai' in the letter and I wondered what I meant by 'Love'.
And then four years later, came the day of Matt's concert, I saw you holding a box of cookies and waiting at Matt's rehearsal door. I asked you if you wanted to go and see Matt's concert with me, but you decline saying you'd be free if Matt was free otherwise. That was when I realized that you were in love with Matt. I was sort of upset but it didn't hurt me as much, instead I told you that it was okay and to follow your heart to him instead of me.
And I watched you drift away.
